April 22

8:47 a.m. – Caller located a container with marijuana inside and turned it in, 46600 block of Old Hufford. Seized for destruction.

9:42 a.m. – Katina Le Ann May, 45, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 536 9th Ave.

11:03 a.m. – Caller reported that someone cut a fence, 2300 block of Main. Information noted at caller’s request. Caller asked for extra patrol during the evening hours.

11:56 a.m. – Caller reported a male and female parked in front of a residence, 1200 block of Nandina. The caller asked them to move and to stop smoking cigarettes. The male subject got angry, yelled at the caller and trespassed on her property. A second caller reported a male and female threatening another female and blowing cigarette smoke in her face. Officer responded. Parties had separated. The male and female were trespassed from the original caller’s residence. Report taken and forwarded to the city attorney for review.

1:46 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked in front of a fire hydrant, 1400 block of 53rd. Officer unable to find the owner of the vehicle. Vehicle tagged for removal.

2:45 p.m. – Wayne Cole Howser, 42, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of attempting to elude a police officer.

3:52 p.m. – Caller found a needle in the bushes, 15th and Nandina. Officer disposed of the needle.

4:23 p.m. – Ryan Kirkpatrick cited for operating a Class I ATV on a public road, 42900 Marks Ridge Road.

7:01 p.m. – Caller reported a dog barking off and on for more than five hours, 1100 block of 24th. Officer contacted the owner, who was hard of hearing. The dogs were moved inside for the night.

7:24 p.m. – Caller reported a male pushed a female into a ditch and then the female kicked the male, Fern Ridge and Highway 228. They continued walking together. Officer contacted the two subjects. They denied the report and moved on.

April 21

8:54 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle over an embankment, 47th near the railroad tracks. Caller said a black Jeep was there attempting to pull out the crashed vehicle. Officer responded and found no one around or in the vehicle. Officer contacted the registered owner, who said she took the curve too fast. She had no injuries or signs of impairment and had a tow truck en route.

10:51 a.m. – Nick Louis Begrin Jr., 37, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, 890 Main St., Main Street Market. Cited and released.

1:34 p.m. – A deputy located two men who had posted rifle targets on trees, 45100 block of Old Hufford. The deputy explained the issues with shooting trees and directed them to a nearby area where they could shoot safely without damage trees.

1:39 p.m. – Ryan Joe Holley, 42, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

2:21 p.m. – Caller reported an abandoned and stripped fifth-wheel trailer off Canyon Creek Road. The U.S. Forest Service was already aware of it and had an open investigation into it.

2:40 p.m. – Caller reported a trash pile with trash blowing everywhere, Long and 42nd. Referred to code enforcement.

3:06 p.m. – Caller reported that her phone number was active on another phone owned by an unknown person, 1800 block of Kalmia. Information noted.

3:47 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle left at 580 Main St., Vet’s Club. Placed in found property.

4:28 p.m. – Caller found a syringe in a bedroom, 1300 block of Sunset. Officer disposed of syringe.

6:25 p.m. – Caller found needles under a bush, 2400 block of Main. Officer disposed of items.

6:41 p.m. – Caller reported a dog outside his house, 1600 block of Dogwood. Caller did not know where it belonged and thought it might be injured. Officer responded. Owner picked up dog.

8:19 p.m. – Multiple callers reported aerial fireworks in the area, 4600 block of Main. Officer unable to locate.

8:53 p.m. – Multiple callers reported fireworks in the area again, 4600 block of Main. Officer unable to locate.

9:52 p.m. – Caller reported possible fireworks in the area, 1st and Holley. Officer unable to locate.

April 20

6:45 a.m. – Eric Alan Strom, 30, cited by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for third-degree theft.

8:38 a.m. – Veronica Sue Szuch, 21, cited and released on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

10:59 a.m. – Caller reported a female climbed a fence and was high on drugs, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer contacted the female, who said she was visiting a friend at the park. Park manager advised. No crime.

11:01 a.m. – A group of juveniles were standing on the bandstand smoking, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Officer contacted several juveniles who denied the reported activity. A 17-year-old juvenile and a 15-year-old juvenile who had been excluded from the park were located and referred to the Juvenile Department for criminal trespass.

11:58 a.m. – Caller reported that a male on a sport bike was racing around town the previous night at 90-plus mph and running stop signs on Long Street. Caller advised to call police if she sees him again. Officers advised.

12:03 p.m. – Caller found a Social Security card and credit card belonging to two different people, 46th Avenue. Placed in found property.

1:06 p.m. – A 15-year-old juvenile and 16-year-old juvenile referred to the Juvenile Department for minor in possession of alcohol, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School.

1:49 p.m. – Caller reported a dog barks all the time, 1100 block of 24th. Officer responded. No one home. Area was quiet. Officer left a business card explaining the issue.

2:09 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 1300 block of Main. Report taken. No injuries. No citations.

6:29 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog attacked the caller’s dog, 1100 block of 32nd. Officer contacted the neighbor and counseled the neighbor for keeping a dog as a public nuisance.

8 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, Money Man parking lot. No injuries. No citations.

9:14 p.m. – A male said he was drugged, 4800 block of Highway 20. Medics transported the male to the hospital.

9:24 p.m. – Kristina L. Boswell, 34, arrested on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

9:31 p.m. – Erin N. Yutzie, 28, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal mischief, Albany. Cited and released.

10:45 p.m. – Caller reported that he was too intoxicated to walk any further and requested assistance, 3200 block of Main. Officer provided a courtesy transport.

April 19

8:12 a.m. – Caller reported a battery taken from a forklift, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home Police Department. Report taken. Loss valued at $25.

9 a.m. – Caller reported subjects at the apartment complex were throwing garbage and old TVs out behind the garage, 5300 block of Poplar. Officer found a TV behind the garage and advised the apartment owner, who planned to clean it up.

10:14 a.m. – Caller reported that neighbors have let blackberries grow roof high and now there are rats, 1300 block of Quince. Report taken to be forwarded to code enforcement.

10:38 a.m. – Matthew James Housen, 45, turned in himself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence. Cited and released.

10:46 a.m. – James Paul Chapin, 30, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of resisting arrest, Lincoln County. Cited and released.

11:07 a.m. – Caller reported that a male ditched a bicycle in the bushes and left in a vehicle, 900 block of Oak Terrace. Bicycle placed in found property.

12:13 p.m. – Caller reported an accumulation of household items, two locations in the 3500 block of Flannigans.

12:17 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in the store, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Dog placed in kennel.

12:39 p.m. – Shawn Michael Alan Hoggatt, 33, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, Albany. Cited and released.

12:54 p.m. – Caller received a call saying her credit card was used, 1200 block of Evergreen. Officer contacted the caller, who wanted the information noted. She doesn’t have a credit card at this time.

1:52 p.m. – Abandoned vehicle impounded, 1100 block of Spruce.

2:33 p.m. – Zoe Jane Links, 18, cited for speeding, Clark Mill and Main.

3:31 p.m. – Caller reported a dog wandering around the parking lot, 300 W. Holley, Stonebrook Apartments. Officer contacted a male who knows the owner and would return the dog.

6:29 p.m. – Caller reported that a male tried to lure her son into his car, 3200 block of Long. Information noted.

7 p.m. – Caller reported finding a safe dumped in the woods by the creek, 47th and railroad tracks. Officer checked the area on foot and found a filing cabinet that was too large to be removed. It had been there for quite some time.

7:27 p.m. – Caller found a stray dog while out for a walk, 700 block of 29th. Officer responded. Caller decided to hold onto the dog and try to find the owner. She would bring the dog to the Police Department later if owner could not be found.

7:45 p.m. – Michael James Coomer, 43, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of failure to report as a sex offender and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, 6099 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

9:25 p.m. – Caller reported that her ex was attempting to contact her through her friends and she has a restraining order on him, 1800 block of Cedar. Officer responded. Investigation continuing.

April 18

7:48 a.m. – A 15-year-old female taken into custody for third-degree theft, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Released to guardian.

7:51 a.m. – Lucas Shane Coch-ran, 47, cited for speeding, 32 mph in a 20-mph zone, 22nd and Kalmia.

10:20 a.m. – Vehicle impounded, Long and 18th.

12:20 p.m. – Caller reported tall weeds, 1400 block of 1st. Referred to code enforcement.

12:20 p.m. – Caller reported blackberry vines growing onto the caller’s shop, 1400 block of Westwood. Referred to code enforcement.

12:32 p.m. – Christopher Thomas Meredith, 30, arrested for felony possession of meth, 1600 block of Long. Cited and released.

2:11 p.m. – Caller reported an accumulation of trash, 4400 block of Long. Referred to code enforcement.

2:12 p.m. – Caller reported grass and shrubs blocking sidewalk, 400 block of 18th. Referred to code enforcement.

2:14 p.m. – Caller reported a compact car with no rear license plate had been parked on the street for two weeks, 1200 block of 46th. Officer contacted the owner, who agreed to move it to private property.

2:16 p.m. – Caller reported an RV on the street with an electrical cord over the sidewalk, 1200 block of 46th. Referred to code enforcement.

2:17 p.m. – Caller reported a broken-down blue travel trailer with people living in it, 1200 block of 43rd. Referred to code enforcement.

4:02 p.m. – Caller reported someone had broken into her house two days earlier and several things were taken, 2400 block of Main. Report taken.

4:47 p.m. – Caller reported that two teenage girls stole a couple of bottles of beer or soda, 1540 Main St. Report taken.

6:38 p.m. – Caller reported that he was assaulted in his driveway after being followed from a local store by two unknown suspects, 28200 block of Ridgeway.

7:07 p.m. – Caller reported her neighbor threatened to shoot the neighborhood cats with his BB gun, 300 block of 18th. Officer responded and contacted the neighbor, who expressed frustration with cats getting under his house. The officer advised him of the city ordinance against discharging weapons within the city limits and suggested he set a live trap.

7:16 p.m. – Caller reported her vehicle was hit while parked in front of her house, 1200 block of 40th. Report taken.

8:34 p.m. – Caller reported a stray dog showed up at her front gate then headed east, 1300 block of Quince. Officer contacted the owner, who said the dog broke its chain. She planned to send the dog to live with another family member. Owner warned for dog at large.

9:30 p.m. – Caller found a jacket in the courtroom, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Municipal Court. Placed in found property.

April 17

8:16 a.m. – Caller reported multiple vehicles parked on the street for more than a month, 400 block of Ironwood. Two vehicles posted for removal on April 20.

8:25 a.m. – Caller reported that a female hit him in the parking lot, 890 Main St., Towne Pump. Report taken. Minor injury. Officer assisted with exchange of information.

10:59 a.m. – A 15-year-old juvenile referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of tobacco, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Caller had located a cigarette on a student.

2:25 p.m. – Officer made contact with a subject who was required to register as a sex offender and failed to do so, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Report taken and forwarded to district attorney for review.

3:37 p.m. – Caller reported that a male stole jerky but then returned it, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Caller requested that the male be trespassed if located.

3:50 p.m. – Caller turned in IDs located at a friend’s residence. Placed in found property.

3:50 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs running loose on high school property, 1641 Long St. Placed in kennel.

5:09 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 800 block of Main. Report taken. Information exchanged. No injuries. No citations.

9:13 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole pop cans from her backyard, 2600 block of Long. Report taken.

9:40 p.m. – Caller reported a male drove away without paying for fuel, 1306 Main St., Chevron. Report taken. Loss valued at $11.

10:01 p.m. – Cody Michael Baker, 24, cited for speeding, 1800 block of Main.

11:10 p.m. – Scott Kevin Heinz, 30, arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving, 2019 Long St. Cited and released. Vehicle impounded.

April 16

7:42 a.m. – Caller reported a male had been sleeping in his van behind 3037 Main St. for awhile. Officer contacted the male, who moved along.

9:53 a.m. – Caller reported a black lab wandering around the area, Mountain View and Long. Officer was able to get the dog back into its yard with help from a neighbor.

10:49 a.m. – Caller reported that his truck was hit in the parking lot on April 3, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Caller already exchanged information with the other driver but wanted information noted.

11:57 a.m. – Caller received information that a student asked a neighbor for gunpowder to make a bomb, 880 22nd Ave., Sweet Home Junior High. Officer responded and contacted the juvenile and his grandmother. The juvenile denied making those statements. His grandmother agreed to watch him.

1:28 p.m. – Caller reported that someone took money from her bank account causing her rent check not to go through, 3100 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $151.98.

1:54 p.m. – Caller reported that a customer got fuel but her card was declined, 1810 Main St., Main Street Market. The customer did not return to pay. Officer responded and connected to the previous case. The victim in that case was the female who had her card declined. The officer spoke with her, and she agreed to pay the station.

2:35 p.m. – Caller reported numerous items stolen from a rental, 1100 block of Spruce. Report taken. Loss valued at $948.93.

3:15 p.m. – Caller reported an abandoned vehicle, 1100 block of Spruce. Posted for removal.

3:55 p.m. – Caller reported her phone taken in the bottle room, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken.

3:56 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs running loose in a field, 1400 block of Clark Mill. Officer unable to locate. Officer contacted the caller, who advised that the dogs ran away.

4:38 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen during the weekend, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Report taken.

4:40 p.m. – Anthony Justin Zib, 40, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Corvallis. Cited and released.

5:03 p.m. – Brandon Ryan Freeman, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charges of possession of meth and harassment and new charges of third-degree theft and three counts of restraining order violation; and Lacy Marie Nicole Davidson, 39, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth and two criminal citations, 1198 38th Ave. Freeman transported to Linn County Jail. Davidson cited and released.

8:43 p.m. – Caller received information that the next door residence was listed for rent on Craigs-list under the caller’s husband’s name, 200 block of Nandina. Information noted.
