Aug. 13

12:06 a.m. – Officer located a watering device for the high school football team, 18th and Long. Placed in found property.

5:33 a.m. – Caller reported a male crawled out of the front door of a building, 2300 block of Main Report taken for burglary and criminal mischief.

5:33 a.m. – Officer found damaged phone lines, 2200 block of Main. Report taken for criminal mischief.

6:37 a.m. – While on another call, officer located an open door and phone lines cut, 2300 block of Main. Report taken for criminal mischief and burglary.

5:33 a.m. – Christine Sue Evans, 42, arrested on Marion County warrant for probation violation on original charge of fourth-degree assault, 2301 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

Aug. 12

1:08 a.m. – A 13-year-old juvenile referred to Juvenile Department for curfew violation and released to a responsible adult, and a 13-year-old juvenile referred to Juvenile Department for providing false information to a police officer and curfew violation and released to a parent, 22nd and Mountain View.

8:40 a.m. – Caller reported a backpack stolen from a vehicle, 900 block of 23rd. Report taken.

11:22 a.m. – Caller reported an abandoned bicycle, 4800 block of Main. Placed in found property.

1:28 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a mailbox, 45600 block of Sunnyside Road. Report taken.

1:52 p.m. – Deputy found a vehicle at the boat ramp with the rear window broken out, 47700 block of Quartzville. Owners were located and a report taken. Stolen from the vehicle was a subwoofer, amp and wallet with credit cards and ID.

5:06 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog was in front of his house barking, 4600 block of Kalmia. Officer responded and contacted a family member to have the dog put away. The owner was out of town and would be cited after returning.

8:06 p.m. – Caller reported a stray dog, 600 block of Oak Terrace. Placed in kennel.

Aug. 11

1:30 a.m. – A 16-year-old male referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of marijuana, 900 block of Terrace.

8:53 a.m. – Caller reported hit-and-run damage to his parked vehicle at Sunnyside Campground, 44900 block of Quartzville.

9:21 a.m. – Caller reported dogs bark all day, 2200 block of Ironwood. Officer advised owner of the complaint.

10:47 a.m. – Travis Leroy Smith, 35, cited and released for second-degree disorderly conduct, 300 block of Strawberry Loop.

11 a.m. – Tyson Derek Boren, 35, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on original charge of driving under the influence, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Cited and released.

1:10 p.m. – Caller reported a wall was kicked in and a planter damaged, 1100 block, of Long. Report taken.

3:51 p.m. – Curtis Brian McClure, 57, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured in a motor vehicle collision, 49th and Main. Vehicle impounded. No injuries.

4:44 p.m. – Caller located stolen mail, 40900 block of Skyline. Report taken.

7:37 p.m. – Seven callers reported multiple gunshots, 700 block of 9th. Officer contacted a male who denied what was reported. Report taken.

9:29 p.m. – James David Stedman III, 28, arrested on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, Independence.

9:33 p.m. – Connor James Sockler Lines, 22, cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and careless driving.

Aug. 10

2:08 a.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s dog and puppies were outside barking and crying for more than an hour, 2200 block of Ironwood. Officer responded and heard a dog howling in the garage. No one answered the door. Officer left a message for the homeowner.

7:04 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking down the street, pulling a lawnmower and going through garbage cans, 22nd and Long. Officer unable to locate anyone matching the description.

7:54 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke the window on her vehicle sometime during the night, 1300 block of Tamarack. Report taken.

8:03 a.m. – Melissa Whitmore, 29, turned in herself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

8:11 a.m. – Caller found a cell phone, 1400 block of 60th. Placed in found property.

11;07 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into the bottle shed during the night, 1810 Main St., Main Street Market. Report taken. Loss valued at $120.

12:29 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of their boat, 44900 block of Quartzville Road, Sunnyside Park. Report taken. Loss valued at $6,000.

1:42 p.m. – Deputy warned two groups of campers for illegal camping on Bureau of Land Management property and another group for an illegal campfire on BLM property, 44700 block of Quartzville.

1:44 p.m. – Daryl Wayne Burns, 58, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, failure to register vehicle and seatbelt violation, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Vehicle impounded.

1:54 p.m. – Caller found two IDs at the Skate Park. Placed in found property.

4:46 p.m. – Amanda Marie McDowell, 23, turned in herself on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession off heroin, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

7:24 p.m. – Caller reported two female teens lying in the middle of the road, making cars go around them, 800 block of 14th. Officer warned them for disorderly conduct.

8:09 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen, 4900 block of Mimosa.

9:52 p.m. – Caller reported a fight, 45900 block of Highway 20. Report taken.

Aug. 9

12:47 a.m. – Jennifer Joleen Hanna, 40, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Lebanon Justice Court warrant for failure to appear and Albany warrants for failure to comply on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and two counts of failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 2900 block of Main. Cited and released.

7:47 a.m. – Caller reported a stray dog, 700 block of Long. Dog placed in kennel. Animal Control advised.

9:32 a.m. – Caller reported that a male grabbed several bags from the Jamboree grounds and rode off on his bicycle, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Officer unable to locate anyone matching the description.

9:44 a.m. – Shannon Marie Richards, 45, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree child neglect, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

10:46 a.m. – Amanda Rae Stafford, 42, cited and released in field for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, 2000 block of Willow.

10:54 a.m. – Caller reported an assault, 29100 block of Pleasant Valley. Report taken.

10:57 a.m. – Robert Waite, 67, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and cited on Linn County Justice Court warrants, 38300 block of Highway 228.

10:58 a.m. – Crystal Chantel Dawn Schatz, 34, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County.

11:38 a.m. – Caller reported a firearm missing, 41900 block of Marks Ridge. Report taken.

12:22 p.m. – Caller reported her food stamp card stolen out of her boyfriend’s truck, 18th and Spruce. Information documented.

1:36 p.m. – Caller reported an assault, 27100 block of Scott Mountain. Report taken.

1:40 p.m. – Caller reported receiving a message saying her grandson was in trouble in Manhattan, 300 block of Mountain View. Officer advised the caller it is a phone scam and that her grandson was fine and still inside the state.

2:42 p.m. – Caller reported a two-vehicle crash, 9th and Main. Information exchanged. No injuries.

3:36 p.m. – Ryan Logan Binks, 25, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, McMinnville.

3:53 p.m. – Jason Wesley Brown, 45, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of harassment, Albany.

4:18 p.m. – Caller reported a dog locked inside a hot vehicle, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer responded. The dog was in a vehicle that was running with the air conditioning on. Officer advised the owner of the vehicle about the complaint and cautioned the owner about keeping the doors unlocked with an animal inside.

4:44 p.m. – Caller found a phone at Sankey Park. Placed in found property.

6:14 p.m. – Deputy located 12 camps with illegal fires and three illegal camps, 51100 block of Quartzville. All of them were warned for the violations.

7:23 p.m. – Deputy located campers at the Boulder Creek rock pit. They had a small cooking fire in a metal fire ring. The deputy warned them for the fire, and they put it out before the deputy left.

8:22 p.m. – Caller reported a can with drug paraphernalia by a bench, 11th and Cedar. Officer seized a can and bottle for destruction.

Aug. 8

12:03 a.m. – A 17-year-old male referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of marijuana and tobacco, 18th and Kalmia.

1:52 a.m. – William Joseph White, 53, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court, probation violation and failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft and cited for driving while suspended, 1200 block of 23rd.

2:42 a.m. – Corey Alan Smith, 53, cited for illegal display of plates and failure to renew registration, Holley and 2nd. Plates seized.

12:13 p.m. – Caller reported a dog had no water and it’s an ongoing issue, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Officer responded and advised the owner of the complaint. The dog knocks over the water bowl. Officer gave the owner options on how to fix it.

1:36 p.m. – Caller reported that people are throwing trash in the City Hall parking lot. Officer contacted three males and issued them notices excluding them from city property.

1:52 p.m. – Caller reported a two-vehicle crash, 4900 block off Main. No citations. Injuries reported.

2:05 p.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose, 18th and Long. Dog placed in kennel.

3:24 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked in the lot for several days, 2000 Main St., McDonald’s. Stolen vehicle recovered.

3:42 p.m. – Caller reported a subject did not pay for fuel, 1810 Main St., Main Street Market. Information noted.

7:26 p.m. – Caller reported her truck was hit in the parking lot, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken for hit and run.

7:49 p.m. – Caller reported a male waving a golf club at vehicles passing by 1900 block of Long. Officer responded. The male was trying to get cars to slow down. Officer advised him to request the radar trailer if speeding is an issue. He agreed to put away the golf club.

8:17 p.m. – Officer located a bicycle in Sankey park. Placed in found property.

9:07 p.m. – Multiple callers reported hearing a gunshot, 1800 block of Willow. One caller reported a dog charged her husband and he shot it. Officer responded. Dog was shot in self-defense. Owners transported the dog to the animal hospital. They were warned for dog at large.

11:35 p.m. – Officer attempted a traffic stop and the subject fled, Clark Mill and Main. Report taken.

Aug. 7

3:01 a.m. – Anthony Justin Zib, 40, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Multnomah County Jail.

8:38 a.m. – Caller reported three disabled vehicles with expired registration, 1500 block of 9th. Vehicles posted for removal.

11:36 a.m. – Caller reported a needle on the ground, 2300 block of Main. Officer disposed of the needle.

3:39 p.m. – Caller found a dog, Main and Highway 228. Dog placed in kennel.

3:52 p.m. – Caller reported her shovel was stolen from her backyard, 4800 block of Long. Report taken. Loss valued at $30.

5:48 p.m. – Caller reported a theft, 44900 block of Quartzville. Report taken.

6:28 p.m. – Caller reported a single-vehicle crash, 27000 block of Rowell Hill. Report taken. Minor property damage. No injuries.

6:30 p.m. – Joshua Paul Eli, 30, arrested for restraining order violation and Lebanon warrants for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of recklessly endangering another person and failure to appear on original charge of recklessly endangering another person, 1100 block of 18th. Transported to Linn County Jail.

Aug. 6

10:01 a.m. – Caller reported that someone accessed the caller’s debit card and made fraudulent purchases, which were reported to the bank, 27400 block of Fern Ridge. Report taken.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported her husband struck her while they were driving to Safeway, 1540 Main St. He dropped her off and drove away. Report taken for harassment.

10:46 a.m. – Caller reported that someone stole a chair from his campsite, 1313 Main St., The New Era. Report taken for third-degree theft.

11:11 a.m. – Caller reported a dog locked inside a hot vehicle, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer responded. Dog was not in distress. Windows were partially rolled down. The temperature was not hot. No concerns for animal neglect or abuse at the time.

11:26 a.m. – Caller reported that someone stole items on Thursday, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. Caller had the theft on video. Report taken. Loss valued at $14.99.

11:29 a.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 18th and Long. Information exchanged.

12:33 p.m. – Caller reported his tool bag stolen from his vehicle during the night, Campground 20. Report taken.

12:47 p.m. – Caller found a wallet in the parking lot, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Placed in found property.

2:25 p.m. – Joseph Ben Kolnick, 67, cited for driving uninsured and failure to display plates, eastbound in The Narrows, Highway 20 west of the city limits.

3:02 p.m. – Caller reported that a male urinated in the parking lot, City Hall. Report taken.

3:42 p.m. – Caller reported a motorized cart was missing and a customer saw it down the street with male juveniles on it, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken.

5:01 p.m. – Caller reported that his brother’s ex-girlfriend forged his signature and signed the title for an ATV over to someone else, 1500 block of 9th. Information noted.

6:34 p.m. – Caller reported a needle in a pond, 12th and Juniper. Officer disposed of the needle.

6:52 p.m. – Caller reported a male going door to door asking if he can clean roofs, Ironwood and 23rd. Officer warned three individuals for not having a peddler’s license.

8:51 p.m. – Debbie Dee Guidry, 53, cited for driving uninsured, failure to renew registration and illegal alteration of plates, 1300 block of Main.

9:07 p.m. – Deputy found locks belonging to Linn County Road Department and the U.S. Forest Service cut, 43600 block of Upper Calapooia. Report taken.

9:44 p.m. – Caller reported seeing a cougar, 300 block of 7th. Officer unable to locate. Cougar was last seen heading east on Elm Street.

10:06 p.m. – Officer located a male in Sankey Park after hours. Officer issued the male an exclusion from city parks.

11:54 p.m. – Amanda June Herbert, 30, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Albany. Cited and released.
