Aug. 20

1:55 a.m. – Amber Dawn Barton, 39, cited for driving while suspended and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of second-degree theft, 23rd and Long.

3:45 a.m. – Caller reported that someone attempted to enter her vehicle, 4800 block of 48th Loop. The alarm went off and scared them away. Nothing stolen or damaged. Officer checked the area but unable to locate anyone.

6:21 a.m. – Caller reported third-hand information that there are several homeless camps on his property, 24th and railroad tracks. Officer contacted two subjects and advised them they are trespassed from the property. They were given a day to pack up and leave the area.

6:37 a.m. – Caller reported a person was lying in the middle of the trail near Elm Street. Officer responded. The subject agreed to leave the area.

Aug. 19

2:20 a.m. – Caller reported a single-vehicle crash, Highway 228 milepost 19. Male transported to the hospital by medics.

11 a.m. – Caller reported that she accidentally hit a parked vehicle, 1300 block of Elm. She contacted the owner who was not willing to exchange information. Report taken.

11:04 a.m. – Caller found syringes at a house he is remodeling, 500 block of Ironwood. Officer disposed of the syringes.

11:31 a.m. – Caller reported that someone slept in the caller’s house and used items in the bathroom, leaving behind a large mess, 52800 block of Highway 20. Nothing was stolen. Report taken.

12:02 p.m. – Milton Javier Ramirez, 22, cited for driving without insurance, 600 block of Main.

12;30 p.m. – Larry John Follett, 42, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass, Linn County Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on a citation and Lebanon warrant for probation violation and contempt of court on original charge of driving while suspended, 2000 block of Willow. Cited and released.

3:37 p.m. – Hoyt Benjamin Orr, 48, cited for driving while suspended, 60th and Main.

6:25 p.m. – Jeffrey Ryan Harris, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany.

7:33 p.m. – Caller reported that neighbors were threatening her with a steel pipe and a bow saw, 1200 block of 44th. Officer contacted all involved and advised them of options. The caller was warned for keeping a dog as a public nuisance.

8:11 p.m. – Caller reported that a female attempted to lure children into her vehicle, 1200 block of 1st. Officer unable to locate any vehicle matching the description.

9:12 p.m. – Caller reported a male was standing in the parking lot making the caller nervous, 12th and Kalmia. Officer contacted the male and advised him to move along.

Aug. 18

4:26 a.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 22nd and Ironwood. Vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle. Report taken. No citations.

6:01 a.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on an older couple who live nearby, 3100 block of Main. Dogs were inside barking, and it was unusual for them to bark so long. Officer contacted the resident. Everything was fine.

10:08 a.m. – Deputy disposed syringe that had been discarded, 1000 block of North River.

11:46 a.m. – Callers reported a restraining order violation, 4200 block of Long. Information noted and forwarded to the district attorney.

12:19 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his truck, which was left unlocked, 4400 block of Live Oak. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.

12:23 p.m. – Caller reported approximately $1,200 in fraud on his checking account, 43400 block of Wiley Creek. Report taken.

2:05 p.m. – Caller reported a cable box and phone lines damaged, Main and Clark Mill. Report taken.

3:31 p.m. – Laura Diaz Dominguez, 26, cited for speeding, 3100 block of Main.

3:52 p.m. – Deputy located three illegal camps on Bureau of Land Management property, 51400 block of Quartzville. Deputy warned the campers, and they moved.

4:53 p.m. – Matthew John Doyle, 25, cited for driving uninsured, Spoleto’s.

5:34 p.m. – Brandon Scott Schatz, 29, arrested for resisting arrest in connection to the 2:05 p.m. report of a cable box and phone lines damaged, 1200 block of 40th.

6:40 p.m. – Caller reported he was told about a dog stuck in a fence, 200 block of Highway 228. Officer responded. The dog was not stuck in the fence and appeared to be in good health.

6:54 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog, 43rd and Main. Placed in kennel. Photo posted on social media.

7:14 p.m. – Caller reported hearing a dog in distress, 300 block of 9th. Officer responded. Dog was upset due to being tied up in the backyard. Owner advised of tethering laws. Dog was healthy. No violation.

7:18 p.m. – Caller reported a hit-and-run crash near milepost 6, Quartzville Road. The investigation showed the victim was eastbound when a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and crashed into the boat and trailer the victim was towing. The suspect fled the scene. Damage estimated at $5,000. Investigation continuing.

10:21 p.m. – James Eugene Mobley, 34, arrested for third-degree escape, possession of heroin, possession of meth, a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft and Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief and failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, A&W. Cited and released.

10:40 p.m. – Marcus Charles Dodson, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Corvallis.

Aug. 17

6:12 a.m. – Caller reported phone lines were damaged, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken.

6:22 a.m. – Caller reported a male with a bag of cans was riding his bike when a car pulled in front of him and another person started yelling at him, 3100 block of Main. The male with the bag of cans dropped them and ran away. A second caller reported trying to confront a male on a bicycle he believed was entering a vehicle earlier. Officer placed the bicycle and bag of cans in found property.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported that she met a man in Sweet Home and then noticed her wallet was missing. Report taken for second-degree theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and identity theft.

11:48 a.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose, 800 block of 3rd. Officer unable to locate.

12:05 p.m. – Amanda Grace Howser, 43, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany.

12:15 p.m. – Caller found a loose dog, Wiley Creek Road. Placed in kennel.

1:47 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Drivers exchanged information. No injuries.

1:49 p.m. – Caller reported phone lines cut and damaged, 958 Main St., Sweet Home Car Wash. Report taken.

2:11 p.m. Cory Allen Earley, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft, Eugene.

4:44 p.m. – Caller turned in a wallet he found in the Bi-Mart parking lot, 1980 Main St. Placed in found property.

5:54 p.m. – Caller turned in a wallet found in the Sweet Home Family Medicine parking lot, 679 Main St. Placed in found property.

6:15 p.m. – Caller reported his son found a needle, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer disposed of the needle.

6:29 p.m. – Sean Michael Finkelstein, 34, cited for using a cell phone while driving, 1700 block of Long.

6:42 p.m. – Kendra Lynne Montoya, 20, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of third-degree theft, 1100 block of 29th. Caller had reported a male and female out by a truck in the field yelling at each other and throwing stuff out of the truck.

6:51 p.m. – Caller reported that a male fell in the street and seemed unsteady, 1st and Highway 228. Officer provided a courtesy ride home.

7:42 p.m. – Derek Wade Dewald, 28, cited for speeding, 54 mph in a 35-mph zone, Main and Clark Mill.

10:13 p.m. – Caller reported a German shepherd running in and out of traffic, 1300 block of Main. Placed in kennel.

10:21 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog in an RV was barking nonstop, 12th and Juniper. Quiet upon officer arrival. The dog did not bark until the officer approached the RV. Unable to locate owner.

11:35 p.m. – Robert Alan Kelley, 28, cited for driving while suspended, 12th and Hawthorne.

Aug. 16

8:38 a.m. – Caller reported a stray dog was wandering, 1900 block of Kalmia. Dog returned home. The gate had been left open accidentally. Owner warned.

10:33 a.m. – Priscilla Denise Vanderark, 42, turned in herself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

12:27 p.m. – Chavana Ann Bowser, 26, cited and released in the field for third-degree theft, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Caller had reported being in pursuit of a shoplifter.

12:43 p.m. – Caller reported the attempted theft of an ATV, 28200 block of Scott Mountain. The ignition was damaged. Damage valued at $300.

1:14 p.m. – Caller reported his wallet was stolen the previous day, 2000 Main St., McDonald’s. Report taken.

2:42 p.m. – Caller reported a male was walking around the junior high and then started messing with a telephone box near the football field. Officer contacted the male and trespassed him from all school property.

3:23 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 1438 Main St., Rio Theatre. Officer assisted in exchanging information.

4:36 p.m. – Caller found a machete in the bushes, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Placed in found property.

4:57 p.mm. – Caller reported a couple of juveniles found a syringe by the creek, Ames Creek and 12th. Officer disposed of the syringe.

5:28 p.m. – Caller reported her son found a bicycle by the creek, 1100 block of 1st. Placed in found property.

5:40 p.m. – Brandon Scott Schatz, 29, arrested for first-degree criminal mischief and possession of meth, 700 block of Long. Caller had reported a male pulling wires out of a telephone box and messing with an air conditioning unit. Transported to Linn County Jail.

7:47 p.m. – Officer located an item missing from an air conditioning unit, 772 Long St., Edward Jones.

9:37 p.m. – Officer located a damaged power box, 746 Long St., East Linn Museum. Report taken.

9:40 p.m. – Officer located a damaged cable box and cables cut, 899 Main St., Napa. Report taken.

10:12 p.m. – Officer located a damaged cable box and cable lines cut, alley behind the car wash. Report taken.

11:10 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke into an apartment and stole medication, 1200 block of 23rd.

11:23 p.m. – Roland Boughner, 55, cited and released in the field for third-degree theft, 1340 47th Ave. Caller had reported her boyfriend was outside, intoxicated and out of control.

11:54 p.m. – Billy Joe Richardson, 52, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Lebanon.

Aug. 15

12:54 a.m. – Caller reported that a male yelled at a dog and fired his gun once, 1800 block of Willow. Officer contacted a male who said there were dogs loose in the area. He banged a board against the porch, and the dogs ran off. No firearm was involved.

6:35 a.m. – Santiam Corrections cited Geremy George Byzew-ski, 25, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief.

8:02 a.m. – Two-vehicle crash, Main and Clark Mill. No injuries. No citations. Report taken.

8:53 a.m. – Caller reported his vehicle was hit during the night, 800 block of Long. He believed he knew who did it, but the other party was denying it. Officer responded and assisted with information exchange.

10:45 a.m. – Caller reported his building was egged on Aug. 12, 1439 Main St., Rio Theatre. The caller had it on video. If suspects can be identified, the caller requested they return to clean it up in lieu of criminal charges.

11:57 a.m. – Tianee Lee Levey, 21, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, 4400 block of Main. Cited and released. Multiple callers had reported a physical altercation between a male and a female.

1:35 p.m. – Caller reported a lost steer wandering the area, 28800 block of Pleasant Valley Road.

1:55 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of an iPod Touch and folder with vehicle information from a vehicle, 43700 block of North River. The thief smashed out a window. Damage and losses valued at $500.

2:16 p.m. – Jason Andrew Sabedra, 34, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon.

3:17 p.m. – Caller reported a compressor plug for an air conditioning unit had been stolen, 1327 Long St., Houck Evarts. Report taken.

3:56 p.m. – Callers reported a vehicle went over an embankment, 2400 block of Long. Report taken. No injuries. No citations.

5:05 p.m. – Desarae Josephine Fulbright, 19, and a 16-year-old male cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Juvenile transported to Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center.

5:44 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs in a vehicle with the windows partially cracked, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Vehicle gone upon officer arrival.

10:34 p.m. – Tyson Derek Boren, 35, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School.

11:17 p.m. – Kevin Michael Watkins, 39, arrested for felony driving while suspended, failure to carry and present a license, two counts of providing false information to a police officer, Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of supplying contraband and state warrant for parole violation; and Donald Ray Watkins, 54, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of negotiating a bad check and a Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of attempting to elude police, 3200 block of Main. Both transported to Linn County Jail.

Aug. 14

8:14 a.m. – Caller reported a motor home had been parked for a couple of weeks, 2200 block of Ironwood. Vehicle tagged for removal.

9:22 a.m. – Quentin Wyatt Quadros, 20, turned in himself on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and two counts of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

10:31 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into the church and took items, 109 W. Holley Road, Fir Lawn Lutheran. Report taken. Damage estimated at $400. Stolen items valued at $2,300.

10:59 a.m. – Caller reported multiple people were camped on his property by the creek, 1000 block of Nandina. Officer contacted and trespassed a male and female. They agreed to pack up and leave.

11:34 a.m. – Caller reported he just gave out a whole bunch of personal information to someone on the phone, and then he began to suspect a scam, 1200 block of 37th. Officer advised him of options.

12:03 p.m. – Michael Dashawn Ferebee, 39, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

12:23 p.m. – Heather Nicole Matney, 24, cited on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree theft and fourth-degree assault, Linn County.

12:33 p.m. – Caller reported that her cat was shot and found in the roadway, 43100 block of North River.

12:33 p.m. – Caller reported that her neighbors broke into her house and spit all over her floor, 4200 block of Long. Information noted.

12:57 p.m. – Caller found a lawnmower by the bathrooms at Northside Park, 1700 block of 11th. Placed in found property.

1:37 p.m. – Jamie Jesse Jimenez, 52, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Newport.

6:05 p.m. – A 24-year-old female driver from Lebanon was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries after a crash just below the Thistle Creek Boat Ramp, 47300 block of Quartzville. Witness said she was traveling at an excessively high rate of speed and lost control on a sweeping 30-mph curve. The vehicle, a 1996 Acura Integra, crossed both lanes of travel and collided with two trees. The driver was trapped and had to be extricated by Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District responders.

Aug. 13

7:50 a.m. – Daniel Lee Adams, 48, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

8:29 a.m. – Caller reported an outdoor faucet was turned on and a hose taken apart, 1443 Long St., Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Information noted.

10:19 a.m. – Caller reported finding what appeared to be drugs from previous tenants, 500 block of Ironwood. Property seized for disposal.

10:24 a.m. – Caller reported that someone turned on the outside water, 2308 Main St. Information noted.

10:47 a.m. – Eric Raymond Shipp, 43, turned in himself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of resisting arrest and Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and consuming or possessing alcohol in a public place, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

10:53 a.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen, 3500 block of Juniper. Report taken.

11:40 a.m. – Abandoned vehicle towed, 1200 block of Nandina.

12:10 p.m. – Caller reported a black and white Holstein steer in the road on Pleasant Valley. Deputy responded. Owner responded to make repairs to a fence and contain the steer off the road.

12:15 p.m. – Caller reported cable lines were cut and a shed door was kicked in, 1913 Main St., Heritage NW. Nothing appeared missing. Report taken. Damage valued at $200.

1:28 p.m. – Caller reported she was a victim of a phone scam but her bank stopped the transaction, 900 block of 7th. Information noted.

4:28 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of two bags of cans from her backyard, 900 block of Cedar. Report taken. Loss valued at $12.

4:51 p.m. – Caller reported that a friend stole a thumb drive containing her passwords to everything, 2300 block of Jefferson. Officer contacted the caller, who just wanted the information documented at this time. The male she suspects of taking the thumb drive was headed out of state.

6:47 p.m. – Caller reported her neighbor’s dog had been barking all day, 4900 block of Mimosa. Officer responded. No answer at the residence. The dog was visible and appeared to be in good health. Officer spoke with homeowner by phone. The owner left the dog out for the day but would bring it inside to stop it from barking.

7:43 p.m. – Caller reported her neighbor’s dogs had been barking nonstop, 1600 block of Elm. Officer contacted the owner, who agreed to put the dogs inside for the night.

8:22 p.m. – Caller reported seeing three juveniles on the roof of the church, 1266 44th Ave., Sweet Home Mennonite Church. Officer contacted a juvenile and his parents. The juvenile said his friend threw a hat on the roof, and they climbed up to get it down. Officer counseled the juvenile for his actions. No sign of damage to the church.

8:52 p.m. – Caller reported a male had been riding his bicycle in circles for the past hour, 13th and Nandina. Officer contacted the male, who said he was just waiting for someone to return home so he could return the bicycle.

9:16 p.m. – Caller found a shoplifter on camera, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $36.
