Public Safety Fair to roll back into Sweet Home Saturday

The public is invited to attend the annual Jim Bean Public Safety Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 17, at the Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St.

Children should bring their bicycles to participate in a bike rodeo course.

Visiting children may receive free bike helmets, bike safety inspections and minor repairs, bike registration and more.

A hot dog meal will be available, all while supplies last.

Children who participate will have a chance to win bicycles in a drawing.

Free shredding services will be available to the community throughout the event.

Various agencies and organizations will attend the event, providing fun safety-related activities and information.

Among them are Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District, Sweet Home Public Works, Sweet Home Public Library, Sweet Home Police Department, Oregon Health Sciences University HERO Kids program, The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam and ABC House.

Also joining the event this year is a preview of Sweet Home’s children’s summer programs.

Six organizations will be available to talk about their upcoming children’s events this summer.

The event is sponsored by Linn-Co Federal Credit Union, Rio Theater, Gregory Home Team, Sweet Home Thriftway and Radiator Supply House.
