January 10

1:45 a.m. – Dustin Kyle Coughran, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Albany Police Department.

4:25 a.m. – The Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in 27700 block Hwy. 20. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Rebecca Raye Barker, 49, was driving slower than speed limit when she hit ice and spun out, causing the crash down a ditch/embankment. The vehicle was towed from the scene No citations issued. Report taken.

10:47 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of fuel from the 45500 block of Sunnyside Road. Value: $20. Report taken.

9:30 p.m. – Caller reported a Chrysler Town and Country stolen from the 1000 block of North River Drive. This was the second time the vehicle was taken within the past month, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was described  as a 2008 silver/aluminum Chrysler Town and Country stolen between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. while the owner was watching television. The keys were not with the vehicle. On Dec. 22, someone had entered outbuildings at the same location and taken the same vehicle, among other tools and equipment. Report taken.  Investigation continuing. 

10:31 p.m. – Caller reported a two-vehicle motor vehicle crash with glass and debris in the roadway, 2400 block of Main St. No injuries. Nathan Daniel Parker, 29, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. Also cited for driving uninsured.

January 11

9:41 a.m. – Caller reported that a cougar was in her backyard at 8:05 a.m., 1200 block of 45th Ave.

11:05 a.m. – Andrew Admunson, 32, of Bend, was cited for criminal trespass, 42700 block of Ames Creek Road. The Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Cascade Timber Consulting regarding a male who had come to a neighbor’s house off the Ames Creek 50 line, asking for a gate key. Upon learning no key was available, Admunson allegedly tried to drive around the gate and got stuck. An acquaintance eventually helped him get the vehicle out.

11:31 a.m. – Paul Kizer, 36, of Sweet Home, was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to change name on registration. Fifth Ave./Oak Terrace.  

5:52 p.m. – Caller found a counterfeit $100 bill in the 2400 block of Main St. Officer responded, property seized.

8:30 p.m. – Caller called into the police department to turn in a credit card found at Subway, 1280 10th Ave. The item was placed in Property.

9:32 p.m. – Tyler Jackson Horner, 32, was arrested on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of assault on a public safety officer, Thriftway, 621 Main St.

January 12

3:18 a.m. – Tony Ray Roebuck, 28, was cited and released on a Linn County Justice Court warrant for second-degree theft, 1900 block of 12th Ave.

5:57 a.m. – Jeremy Schwarz, 33, was cited and released on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for resisting arrest and unlawful possession of heroin, and Linn County Circuit Court warrants for unlawful possession of meth X2 and giving false information to a police officer, 900 block of Long St.

8:42 a.m. – Joey Dawayne Per-singer, 28, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, Albany Police Department.

9:09 a.m. – Peter Robert Piazza, 37, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree animal neglect, Albany Police Department.

9:27 a.m. – Franklin Joe Whitton, 42, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree theft, Oregon State Police.

2:55 p.m. – Caller reported that a male had hit him in the face with a rake earlier in the day, 4800 block of Main St. Officer responded; investigation continuing.

3:33 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a vehicle’s light bar, 1400 block of 24th Ave. Officer responded; report taken for second-degree theft and second-degree criminal trespass. Value: approximately $500.

January 13

11:07 a.m. – Jamie Daniel Carpenter, 45, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, 1280 block of 44th Ave. Qwatavious Robert Daryl Sloan, 30, was cited and released on a Jackson County Circuit Court warrant for failure to appear and Albany Municipal Court warrant for second-degree theft, 1280 block of 44th Ave.

1:49 p.m. – Cassandra Rose Banta, 18, was cited and released for hit-and-run and initiating a false report, 1950 Main St.

3:35 p.m. – Shannon Robert Murry, 44, was cited and released for third-degree assault, 1950 Main St.

January 14

8:35 a.m. – Deputy contacted a male and female regarding a “trash dump” along Highway 20 in the vicinity of Menears Bend. The trash was cleaned up.

11:26 a.m. – Deputy contacted a male illegally camped at a scale shack in the 44299 block of Hwy. 20. He was sent on his way.  

12:38 p.m. – Kevin Earl Terwilliger was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal driving, Albany Police Department.

3:16 p.m. – Suspected stolen mail was recovered by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office. North River Drive/Sunnyside Road. Report taken.  

6:22 p.m. – Nathan Daniel Brown, 46, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree theft, Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

8:23 p.m. – Ryan Kelly Rikala, 35, was arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for second degree theft and failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree escape, Clackamas Sheriff’s Office.

8:26 p.m. – A single-vehicle crash was reported on North River Drive/18th Lane. A 2020 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Rafael Garcia Andrade, 21, of Salem, drove off the roadway. Damage was minimal, according to the Sheriff’s Office. No crimes. Report taken. 

January 15

9:27 a.m. – Shane William Wells, 45, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of failure to register as a sex offender, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

January 16

9:52 a.m. – Brooke Brown, 48, cited and released on Lane County Circuit Court Felony warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants, 300 block of W. Holley Road.

1:04 p.m. – A vehicle crash was reported in the 41800 block of North River Drive. Lucas Lee Victor Jr., 19, was driving Chevrolet Avalanche and hit a mailbox. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he left the scene, but returned after a deputy had arrived and exchanged information with the mailbox owner.  Report taken.  

2:38 p.m. – Albert Wilson, 18, was cited and released for first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief, 1300 block of Hawthorne St.

10:01 p.m. – Bryanna Sue Harley, 30, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft, 10th Ave./Dogwood St. Also cited for driving with a suspended license.
