Jan. 22

12:47 a.m. – Macayla Marie Jimenez, 21, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on two original charges of third-degree theft and one count of failure to appear on original charge of theft by receiving, Oregon State University. Cited and released.

Jan. 21

12:26 a.m. – Ryan Dale Magee, 41, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief, 1234 Main St., Frontier Lounge. Transported to Linn County Jail.

6:05 a.m. – Zachariah Lee Davis, 28, arrested for attempted unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, 1295 Main St. Cited and released. Caller had reported a male trying to get into a vehicle and standing in the middle of the roadway.

11:17 a.m. – Jacob Thomas Macklin, 24, cited for driving while suspended, 5400 block of Main.

12:30 p.m. – Caller found a dog at the top of Ames Creek. The dog jumped over the caller and ran into Bi-Mart. Officer located dog and placed it in the kennel. Animal Control notified and photo placed on social media.

1:01 p.m. – Tony Charles Menza Jr., 23, cited for speeding, 63 mph in a 45-mph zone, 4200 block of Main.

4:04 p.m. – Seth Allen Ikaika, 16, cited for speeding, 53 mph in a 35-mph zone, Long and Clark Mill.

4:46 p.m. – Peter Alan Brawn, 39, cited for speeding, 38 mph in a 25-mph zone, 13th and Main.

5:27 p.m. – Christopher Thomas Meredith, 30, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of first-degree criminal trespass, second-degree disorderly conduct and third-degree theft, 1010 Main St., A&W. Cited and released.

Jan. 20

4:02 a.m. – Alejandro Martinez Arciniega, 23, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct. Cited and released.

8:01 a.m. – Caller reported that a vehicle hit a tree during the night and the tree was in the roadway, 47th and railroad tracks. Officer responded. A tree was covering about a foot of the roadway and had been severed just above ground level. Public Works advised.

8:07 p.m. – Caller reported that subjects and their dog were sleeping under a breezeway and the dog left a mess, 600 6th Ave, St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Caller requested that anyone found sleeping on the property be trespassed. Information noted.

9:38 a.m. – Stacey Diane Stafford, 46, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of placing an offensive substance on the ground, 1100 block of Long.

11:36 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered her vehicle and took items, Nandina St. Vehicle had been left unsecured. Report taken.

12:18 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his vehicle during the night, 900 block of Oak Terrace. Report taken.

12:40 p.m. – Caller reported that someone had broken the locks on the bathroom doors and a male was in the bathroom, 3103 Main St., Margarita Village. Officer contacted two subjects and trespassed them from the property.

12:45 p.m. – Caller found a syringe in the parking lot, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Officer disposed of syringe.

1:29 p.m. – Wendy Earline Horner, 43, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended, Riggs Hill and Main. Cited and released.

3:53 p.m. – Cole William Mizel, 16, cited for speeding, 49 mph in a 25-mph zone, Elm and Mountain View.

Jan. 19

7:09 a..m. – Caller reported that a vehicle with no lights clipped a school bus and left the area, 300 W. Holley Road, Stonebrook Apartments. A second caller reported that the driver drove down the street, parked and walked back to talk to the bus driver. The bus was not damaged. Parties worked out a civil compromise.

7:42 a.m. – Caller reported a subject sleeping in a tent beneath Weddle Bridge, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Officer contacted two subjects from out of state and advised them there is no camping in the city limits and park. They packed up and left.

8:10 a.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s truck had been running since the previous night, 1400 block of 22nd. She knocked on the door and received no answer. She requested a welfare check on the neighbor. Officer contacted the neighbor, who had started his truck to charge the battery, taken a sleeping pill and then forgotten about the truck.

9:05 a.m. – Ford pickup with Texas plates towed as abandoned, 800 block of 6th.

10:15 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a firearm from his residence, 3100 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $500.

4:19 p.m. – Caller reported a male subject had taken up residence in a bus shelter and would like him to move on, 13th and Kalmia. Officer responded. Subject and belongings were gone upon arrival.

4:47 p.m. – Caller reported that a male stole a bunch of flashlights and ran out of the store, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. Report taken. Loss valued at $157.94.

7:18 p.m. – Caller reported that a juvenile had run away, 2800 block of Fir. Report taken.

10:07 p.m. – Stella Darlene Umphress, 52, cited and released in field on Linn County Justice Court warrant for contempt of court, 1800 block of Ames Creek.

10:22 p.m. – Caller reported that a female threw a board through the window of a shed he is staying in, 1100 block of 29th. Officer contacted the caller, who wanted the information noted.

10:58 p.m. – Derrek Charles Sharp, 28, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation (owed 21 days in jail), 4900 block of Locust. Transferred at Linn County Jail.

Jan. 18

9:21 a.m. – Eric James Huber, 53, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of driving while suspended, 1889 Kalmia St.

9:41 a.m. – Caller reported her daughter was assaulted at Sweet Home High School and required stitches, 1641 Long St. Report taken.

9:45 a.m. – Priscilla Vanderark, 41, arrested on a warrant for probation violation, 38300 block of Crawfordsville Drive. Transported to Linn County Jail.

12:05 p.m. – Caller reported a large crack in the street, with water gushing out, Holley and 4th. Public Works responded to repair a water main break.

2:24 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that a female called 9-1-1 twice but dispatchers were unable to understand her, 900 block of 15th. When a dispatcher called back, the woman just laughed. A Sweet Home police officer contacted the female, who had gotten glass in her eye and was attempting to call the fire department, but she was able to get the issue resolved.

3:59 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle had been near her residence in an alley for several days, 1300 block of Nandina. Bike placed in found property.

5:54 p.m. – Caller reported a fender bender, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken. Drivers exchanged information.

9:08 p.m. – Jered Van Henderson, 36, arrested on Linn County supervisory warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Oak Terrace and 6th. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:57 p.m. – David Paul Gruwell, 51, cited and released in field on Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charge of first-degree criminal trespass, 1101 13th Ave., Sweet Home Public Library.

Jan. 17

11:29 a.m. – Caller reported license plates stolen from a vehicle, 4300 block of Main. Information noted. No charges. Plates returned to owner.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported dogs continually running at large, barking nonstop and charging other dogs, 300 W. Holley Road, Stonebrook Apartments. Officer responded and advised owner about lawes regarding dogs.

2:40 p.m. – Andrew Benton Erickson, 47, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 4600 block of Main.

2:46 p.m. – Two callers reported a female in the roadway stopping traffic, 900 block of 12th. Officer contacted a female who was out of the road and who said she was doing exercises. Officer counseled her on her actions.

2:56 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog was in his yard and dug a hole under his fence, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer contacted the dog’s owner and counseled him on his responsibilities as a dog owner as well as possible consequences.

3:53 p.m. – Caller found a syringe in the bed of her truck, 200 block of Holley Road. Officer disposed of the syringe.

4:41 p.m. – Robert Michael Butterfield, 30, turned in himself on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of driving under the influence, Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft and Linn County Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on a citation, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Transported to Linn County Jail.

9:59 p.m. – Caller reported a car parked for an extended period, 1900 block of Kalmia. Officer responded.

10 p.m. – Caller reported several cars parked on the street for an extended period, 1200 block of 2nd. Officer responded.

Jan. 16

4:48 a.m. – Forest Lee Steinborn, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charge of first-degree criminal trespass and failure to comply on original charge of carrying a concealed weapon, Albany. Cited and released.

10:06 a.m. – Carson Albert Strasser, 27, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of possession of heroin, third-degree escape and second-degree criminal trespass, 1010 Main St., A&W. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:33 a.m. – Caller reported a horse trailer sitting at location, and the caller believed it was stolen, 400 block of 10th. Trailer had no identifying marks or plates. Officer contacted a resident, who advised she borrowed it from a friend because she was moving out of her house. She agreed to move it off of the public roadway.

11:49 a.m. – Caller reported two dogs running loose, 48th Loop. Officer unable to locate.

12:25 p.m. – Caller flagged down an officer to report her vehicle had been struck in the parking lot, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Information exchanged.

1:37 p.m. – Caller found a bicycle in her yard, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Bike placed in found property.

2:25 p.m. – Caller reported a subject with a slingshot shooting at buses, 18th and Long. Officer responded. No buses damaged.

3:30 p.m. – Caller reported a pickup with trash in the back parked on the street for more than a month, 300 block of 7th. Code enforcement officer assisted.

4:53 p.m. – Terry Lynn Ballweber, 53, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

7:34 p.m. – Officer located an abandoned vehicle, 3600 block of Green River. Posted for removal.

10:54 p.m. – Caller reported a commercial truck fire, 42nd and Main. Officer responded and assisted firefighters. The operator was able to put it out prior to arrival of emergency responders.

Jan. 15

8:26 a.m. – Caller reported that residents are draining water into the storm drain, 900 block of Elm. Referred to code enforcement.

8:44 a.m. – Caller reported that she is being scammed and spent $4,800 in gift cards, 4100 block of Osage. Information noted.

9:27 a.m. – Caller reported a drainage cover halfway off and being concerned for animals and children falling in, 2600 block of Kalmia. Officer responded and moved the cover back into place.

10:59 a.m. – Harvey Michael Kapicka, 32, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 10th and Long.

3:41 p.m. – Austin Alton Wayne Jones, 21, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree criminal mischief, Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of second-degree burglary and Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation and cited for driving while suspended, 1013 Nandina St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

5:33 p.m. – Caller reported a non-injury crash, 1000 block of Main. Officer assisted with exchange of information.
