June 29

12:24 a.m. – Caller reported a cougar walking down the road in front of Hawthorne School, Clark Mill and Long. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

2:15 a.m. – Chavana Ann Bowser, 26, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for probation violation and contempt of court on original charge of second-degree theft, 2405 Main St., Circle K.

4:57 a.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping on the step of Sunshine Espresso, 1209 Main St. Officer contacted and trespassed two males from the location. They agreed to gather their belongings and leave the area.

8:20 p.m. – Injury crash, 28100 block of Scott Mountain. Report taken.

June 28

10:14 a.m.- Caller flagged down officer for two dogs at large, 49th and Maple. Officer contacted owner, who was hospitalized, by phone. Dogs secured in the backyard.

2:51 p.m. – Caller reported a green Suburu had been parked for an extended period, Osage and Westwood. Vehicle posted for removal.

3:50 p..m. – Caller reported tags were removed from his vehicle, 1300 block of 45th. Report taken. Loss valued at $10.

4:31 p.m. – Darrell George Berrigan, 45, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth and Albany warrant for failure to appear on original charge of trespassing, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

4:31 p.m. – Caller believed he may have had a cougar in his backyard, 1100 block of 48th. It was gone upon officer arrival. The caller believed it was a cougar based on the sound it made in close proximity to him. Officer advised the caller to report it to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

5:20 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 9th near Main. No injuries. No citations. Drivers were from North Dakota and Kentucky.

5:20 p.m. – Christina Marie Briggs, 26, arrested for a restraining order violation, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Transported to Linn County Jail.

9:32 p.m. – Caller reported a bicycle was left in front of his house, 5400 block of Osage. Placed in found property.

10:26 p.m. – Officer located a vehicle reported stolen out of Lebanon, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Owner advised. Vehicle impounded.

June 27

9:44 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog left outside all day and barking continuously, 1600 block of 9th. Officer unable to contact owner, who was at work. Officer planned to follow up later in the day.

9:54 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a $150 nail gun, 29200 block of Pleasant Valley. Report taken.

11:11 a.m. – Caller reported that a male came to caller’s residence and pulled the caller out of the residence, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Report taken.

11:16 a.m. – Harvey Michael Kapicka, 32, arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) 328 9th Ave. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported a male hitting a female in the face.

11:24 a.m. – Jeffrey Michael Clark, 47, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, Lane County. Cited and released.

12:14 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in an RV for more than 45 minutes, 1540 Main St., Safeway parking lot. Officer responded and contacted a female who was in the RV with the dog. They had plenty of ventilation, and the female stated she was waiting for a friend.

12:28 p.m. – Branden James Boettcher, 24, turned in himself on Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree trespass (owed five days in jail) and Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of contempt of court seeking punitive sanctions, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Transported to Linn County Jail.

12:35 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle hit a parked vehicle, 1600 block of 12th. Report taken. No injuries. No citations. Vehicles towed from location.

12:39 p.m. – Caller found a wallet in the middle of the roadway, around Main and the railroad trestle. Placed in found property.

1:35 p.m. – Robert Hershel Briggs, 44, cited and released in field for harassment, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows.

10:09 p.m. – Caller reported a barking dog, 1800 block of Kalmia. Owner returned prior to officer arrival and resolved the issue.

10:32 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs at large. Officer unable to catch the dogs. Officer left a business card for owner.

11:05 p.m. – Jason Alan Hainline, 39, arrested on Marion County warrant for second-degree theft, Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of first-degree burglary, Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of second-degree theft and probation violation and Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of first-degree criminal trespass, 23rd and Long.

11:23 p..m. – Caller reported dogs barking again, 4100 block of Osage. Officer contacted and advised owner of the complaint.

June 26

7:53 a.m. – Caller reported tents set up east of Shea Point. Officer contacted a male and advised of the complaint. The male agreed to clean up and move along.

10:47 a.m. – Deborah Rae Kelly, 59, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass (owed five days in jail), 1428 13th Ave. Cited and released with time served.

11:08 a.m. – Caller reported a male and female smoking marijuana in public view, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer contacted the two, who admitted to what was reported. Officer counseled them on the law.

12:08 p.m. – Caller reported fraudulent charges on a checking account, 4600 block of Mahogany. Information noted. Caller did not lose any money, and the crime occurred in another state.

1:35 p.m. – Justin James McLaws, 30, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, Linn County Jail.

3:32 p.m. – Caller found two fuel cans, 580 Main St., Vets Club. Placed in found property.

3:43 p.m. – Caller found three keys, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Placed in found property.

4:23 p.m. – Caller reported two phones stolen, 2300 block of Main. Investigation continuing. Loss valued at $800.

4:42 p.m. – Caller reported being bitten while trying to protect his dog from being attacked by a pit bull mix on Community Chapel property, 42200 block of Ames Creek. Both owners had allowed their dogs off leashes. The caller had a bite wound to the right hand and was treated and released by the Emergency Room at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Information forwarded to Animal Control.

5:02 p.m. – Caller reported a tarp stolen from the backyard, 600 block of Juniper. Information noted.

7:02 p.m. – Carson Albert Strasser, 28, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany.

8:06 p.m. – Caller reported that a male driver stopped a vehicle in the middle of the road and start hitting a female passenger, Mountain View and Long. Officer unable to locate.

8:30 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his house and stole a firearm, 3100 block of Main. Report taken.

8:55 p.m. – Caller reported an assault, 1300 block of Sunset Lane. Report taken.

9:22 p.m. – Caller found a wallet, 2000 Main St., McDonald’s. Placed in found property.

June 25

7:01 a.m. – Caller reported two dogs were loose in her yard, 600 block of 10th. Dogs placed in kennel. Business card left for owner. Dogs released to owner.

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported a utility trailer with junk and a hot tub parked on the street for an extended period, 1800 block of Kalmia. Officer contacted owner, who planned to move it that day.

11:07 a.m. – James Robert Warrington, 39, and Antonio Perry Thalassinos, 52, cited for consuming or possession of alcohol in a public place, 1101 13th Ave., Sweet Home Public Library.

9:11 p.m. – Caller reported dogs barking, 4100 block of Osage. Officer responded. No one home at residence. Issue was to be resolved when owner returned home.
