May 23

7:14 a.m. – Deputies towed an abandoned boat in the 25600 block of Brush Creek Road. It was found on an old, rusty trailer left in the roadway on Brush Creek. AA Towing removed the boat. Deputies are working to track its owner down. Report taken.

9:59 a.m. – Caller reported a motor-vehicle crash with debris in the roadway, Main Street/Holley Road. Report taken. Damage: more than $2,500.

4:56 p.m. – A male trying to camp at a scale shack on Hwy. 20 was told that no overnight camping was allowed there and advised to move on, 44200 block of Hwy. 20.

5:14 p.m. – Nuisance campers in the 44500 block of Quartzville Road were advised to leave the area.

8 p.m. – Deputy patrolling an area around Green Peter Dam contacted three people fishing on a dam in front of a “No Fishing” sign. All three were warned and moved along.

8:08 p.m. – Dalton Rhys Orr, 25, was cited for unnecessary noise, 5500 block of Nandina St.

May 24

8:26 a.m. – Caller reported a non-injury motor vehicle crash, 12th Avenue/Long Street. Report taken. Value: more than $2,500.

9:13 a.m. – Crash reported in the 1000 block of Pleasant Valley Road. Single Honda CRV driven by a 16-year-old female. The driver stated that she swerved to miss a car in her lane and drove into the ditch, causing the car to roll over. She was transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital for evaluation. 9:23 a.m. – Ruben Valdez, 45, of Sweet Home, was arrested for second-degree criminal mischief after a report of off-roading at Waterloo Park, 31200 block of 1st St., Waterloo. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the county Parks Department regarding someone doing “cookies” in the field of Waterloo Park. Deputies arrived on scene and noticed deep ruts on both the east and west part of the field closest to the entrance. Deputies tracked down Valdez from a license plate seen by a camper. He was located in the area fishing with his sons.

10:14 a.m. – A caller reported a non-injury motor vehicle crash, Thriftway, 621 Main St. Damage: more than $2,500. Dustin Dewayne Budd, 34, was cited for failure to install an ignition interlock device.

11:20 a.m. – Mariah Chaney, 18, of Sweet Home, was cited for speeding, 77/55, Highway 20/Sun Lane.

12:35 p.m. – Caller reported a syringe found on ground, Tacos Locos, 225 Main Street. A responding officer disposed of the item.

1:33 p.m. – A single-vehicle crash was reported in the 30000 block of Berlin Road. Roselynn Puckett, 28, of Sweet Home, was cited for failure to perform duties of driver, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, failure to register vehicle and failure to maintain lane. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Puckett’s Hyundai Sonata ran out of gas. She said she was parked on the side of the road and accidentally released the parking brake, causing the car to roll down the hill and crash into two fences. She then left the scene without contacting any of the property owners or contacting police. Report taken.

7:27 p.m. – Deputies investigated an assault reported in the 46900 block of Quartzville Road. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

May 25

1:54 p.m. – Bill Foltz, 79, of Sweet Home, was cited for driving while suspended and for a warrant. 2000 block of Main St. Report taken.

3:24 p.m. – Zachary Johnson, 32, of Corvallis, was arrested on a warrant, 44300 block of Hwy. 20. Report taken.

4:11 p.m. – Natasha Funk, 43, of Lebanon, was arrested on a warrant, 600 block of Main St. Report taken.

7:28 p.m. – A two-vehicle crash was reported in the area of North River Drive/18th Lane. Further details unavailable. Report taken.

May 26

10:26 a.m. – A caller reported finding a skimming device on a card reader machine, 7-Eleven, 2405 Main St. An officer responded and the item was seized.

1:32 p.m. – Deputies responded to the 24200 block of West Brush Creek Road to assist a hiker with an injured ankle who was unable to walk out on her own. Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District personnel were able to get her off the trail.

2:09 p.m. – Heather Lynn Thompson, 42, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct, and second-degree criminal trespass, 1140 12th Ave.

8:56 p.m. – Michael James Burkhart, 40, was arrested on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for probation violation, 1300 block of Main St.

May 27

1:03 a.m. – The Sheriff’s Office assisted Oregon State Police in taking a suspect into custody, 39200 block of Crawfordsville Drive. Further details unavailable. Report taken.

10:55 a.m. – Cory Brandon Ford, 31, was arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on original charges of third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree theft, Linn County Jail.

6:06 p.m. – Caller reported a $999.99 pool stolen from Safeway, 1540 Main St. Officer responded; a report was taken for second-degree theft.

9:27 p.m. – Caller reported a male yelling at a female in a vehicle, 900 block of Long St. Officer responded; Aaron Phillip Kepler, 29, was cited and released on Linn County Circuit Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft X2, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and failure to appear on an original charge of a citation X3. Cited and released on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for a probation violation.

2:11 p.m. – Caller reported finding small bones he could not identify. The Sheriff’s Office responded and determined them to be a bear paw and claw. 43000 block of Marks Ridge Drive.

2:24 p.m. – Caller reported a stolen vehicle, 27900 block of Meridian Heights Loop. A deputy found it and its owner took possession. Report taken.

4:29 p.m. – Deputies responded to a dispute over a can of string beans. 1000 block of North River Drive.

8:31 p.m. – Deputy stopped by the Shea Point rest stop and “motivated the five guests in three cars who planned to sleep here to move along,” 6300 block of Hwy. 20.

9:25 p.m. – A deputy patrolling the Foster area found three vehicles with people sleeping in them, 6200 block of Hwy. 20. They were told to move along.

9:38 p.m. – A deputy located a vehicle parked in the area of Lewis Cemetery, 43700 block of N. River Drive. A male was sleeping in the front passenger seat, with a female sleeping in the cargo area. They were warned that the area was for day-use only.

9:52 p.m. – A deputy found a male preparing to spend the night in his car at the HBR100 gate on Cascade Timber Consulting property. The man admitted that he had slept there for several nights. He was advised not to camp on CTC land or around the lakes. He arranged for a licensed driver to retrieve him and the car.

10:37 p.m. – A deputy located a man with a small camp set up in the 46500 block of Quartzville Rd. He was sleeping in a vehicle. He agreed to move to a legal camp spot.

May 28

1:59 p.m. – Caller reported male trying to get into a building in the 1000 block of 12th Ave. Hope Center. Lamar Lavonne Wilson, 32, was arrested on a Linn County Circuit Court warrant for first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and driving under the influence of intoxicants. Arrested on a Florence Municipal Court warrant for second-degree disorderly conduct. Arrested on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespass, and third-degree theft.

2:24 p.m. – Caller reported a work truck stolen from home and miscellaneous items taken from a carport in the 27900 block of Meridian Heights Loop. Deputy located the stolen vehicle, a 2006 Ford F150, nearby, and the owner took possession of it. Report taken.

4:29 p.m. – Deputies responded to a civil dispute among roommates over a can of string beans. 1000 block North River Dr.

8:31 p.m. – Deputy stopped by Shea Point rest stop, “motivated the five guests in three cars who planned to sleep here to move along.” 6300 block Hwy. 20.

11:06 p.m. – Caller reported a female starting to destroy the outside area of a bar and wanted her trespassed, 6000 block of Main St. Nichole Lynn Stevens, 36, was cited and released for harassment and second-degree criminal mischief.
