They were trying to find someone to tow their travel trailer for them. The deputy attempted to help them contact a few people, and eventually, someone came to help them.
6:18 p.m. – Christopher Andrew Lee Hughlett, 28, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, 1300 block of Main. Transported to Linn County Jail.

7:37 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog barking nonstop, 300 block of 7th. Residence quiet upon officer arrival.
7:54 a.m. – Caller reported what he believed was a rabid raccoon in his neighbor’s yard, 3100 block of Long. He was concerned for the safety of children walking by on their way to school. Officer responded. The animal appeared to have been struck by a vehicle and badly injured. Officer dispatched and disposed of the animal.
10:05 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his vehicle during the weekend, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Information noted.
10:20 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 44th and Kalmia. Referred to code enforcement.
11:16 a.m. – Caller reported a restraining order violation, 27800 block of High Deck. The subject, the caller’s son, had been camping on her property. Deputy located the camp. The subject was not present. The deputy returned the subject’s personal property to her. She planned to have his father collect the personal property.

5:51 p.m. – Caller found syringes in her house while cleaning up, 300 block of 7th. Officer seized and disposed of syringes.
6:20 p.m. – Caller reported an illegal camp on the banks of Foster Reservoir near the Middle Santiam arm. Deputy located the camp, which was occupied by three men from Salem. They claimed not to know they were not in an authorized camping space. They promised to move within the hour.
7:30 p.m. – Deputy located an illegal campfire on the banks of Foster Reservoir at the old boat ramp near Calkins Boat Ramp. They had a means to extinguish the fire, and they put out the fire. Three of them had fishing licenses, and only three were fishing. Deputy warned them for the fire.
9:27 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in the neighborhood barks nonstop, 300 block of Dogwood. Officer located five puppies in a yard. No one was home. Officer left business card for owner.

8:35 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into a truck and trailer and she could not reach the owner, 4300 block of Main. Report taken.
10:06 a.m. – Caller reported a stereo stolen from an unsecured vehicle, 4300 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $50.
10:18 a.m. – Caller reported a license plate stolen from his vehicle, 1400 block of 40th. Report taken. Loss valued at $34.

2:40 p.m. – Caller reported a male sitting on the steps, 1000 block of 12th. He was hunched over and not responding to her questions. Officer responded and contacted the male, who was asleep and woke up fine. The male advised he was not having any medical issues and claimed he did not use any drugs recently. Male agreed to move on.
3:35 p.m. – Caller reported several people living in tents in her neighbor’s yard with approximately 10 dogs on the property, 4900 block of Maple. Officer contacted an individual who said the homeowners were out of town and they would be staying there until they returned in two days. At that time, the tents and dogs would no longer be an issue. Officer advised the male of city ordinances.
