June 2

3:09 a.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen, 2000 block of Main. Report taken.

6:10 a.m. – Caller reported someone broke into the garage, 440 W. Osage St., Sweet Home Elks Lodge. Report taken.

8:29 a.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog running around the neighborhood, 1100 block of 29th. Officer responded. Unable to detain the dog. Officer attempted to contact the owner by phone but did not receive an answer. The owner was not home. The officer continued to attempt contact throughout his shift.

10:08 a.m. – Brandon Owens, 33, cited for speeding, 51 mph in a 25-mph zone, 400 block of Main.

12:26 p.m. – Caller reported his wallet taken from his car while fishing, Wiley Creek Park. Report taken.

1:08 p.m. – Douglas Wise, 36, arrested on a Deschutes County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft, 1800 block of Tamarack. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:57 p.m. – Deston McQuistion, 20, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear and probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, 1338 Grape St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

3:07 p.m. – Caller reported an ATV crash when the caller’s 10-year-old son was driving, got too close to the edge and rolled over, 46700 block of Whiskey Butte. Neither the father nor the son were injured. Deputy educated them about driving ATVs on county roads.

5:16 p.m. – Caller reported he and his wife saw an “interesting” flag at a residence in Cascadia, 48100 block of Cascadia Drive. He said he photographed the flag, and as he drove away, two vehicles from the residence followed him. The driver of one vehicle pulled in front of him and tried to block his path. He was able to drive around it. The caller wanted the information documented in case something happened to him.

5:28 p.m. – Caller reported his missing dog may have been taken by a female, 1200 block of 2nd. The caller attempted to get the dog back, but the female refused. Officer contacted both parties. The female agreed to bring the dog to the Police Department. Dog returned to owner.

5:55 p.m. – Caller located a syringe, 500 block of Surrey Lane. Officer disposed of the syringe.

6:20 p.m. – Caller reported a dog was tangled, might be injured and no longer have access to water, 1800 block of Grape. Caller tried to help untangle the dog, but the dog got aggressive. Caller reported that the owner returned later and untangled the dog.

7:13 p.m. – Earl William Myers, 54, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of menacing, Salem.

8:21 p.m. – Caller located a dog, 12th and Main. Officer responded. A neighbor was able to get the dog into the owner’s residence.

9:54 p.m. – Caller reported that a lost dog followed her home, 900 block of 14th. Dog placed in kennel.

June 1

1:24 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog sounded injured, 300 block of Juniper. Officer contacted the resident. Puppies at the location were whining but not injured. They quieted down prior to officer arrival.

7 a.m. – Caller reported items taken from an unsecured vehicle, 4200 block of Long. Report taken.

7:49 a.m. – Caller reported a male hitting dogs while walking down the street, 4600 block of Main. Officer contacted the owner and advised him of the complaint. The owner denied the allegations. The dogs did not appear to be injured.

8:05 a.m. – Caller reported mail that did not belong to the caller was left in the caller’s mailbox, 28500 block of Pleasant Valley. Deputy returned the mail to the rightful owner.

8:49 a.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog running around the neighborhood, 1100 block of 29th. Officer responded. Dog returned to owner. The dog was accidentally let out by a child. Officer warned the owner for dog at large.

11:57 a.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog attempting to get into a neighbor’s yard, 1600 block of 9th. Officer responded and contacted the owner, who requested the dog be put in the backyard. Officer unable to direct dog. Owner advised.

3:01 p.m. – Caller turned in a flag found at the Post Office, 1303 Long St. Placed in found property.

3:17 p.m. – Scott Kellum, 65, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, 2400 block of Main.

3:20 p.m. – Linda Cheshire cited for offensive littering for litter at a campsite, 51300 block of Quartzville.

3:53 p.m. – Chad Jones, 27, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, Mountain View and Long.

4:40 p.m. – Donald Baltezore, 40, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, Holley and Oak Terrace.

5:02 p.m. – Timothy Shehan, 25, cited for no license, failure to wear a seatbelt and driving uninsured, and Kelsey Madler, 23, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, 621 Main St., Thriftway.

5:21 p.m. – Neina Kauffman, 43, cited for using a cell phone, 12th and Long.

5:40 p.m. – Colby Messmer, 23, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, Elm and 7th.

6:40 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in the bed of a pickup with a canopy and no open windows, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer responded. The dog was not in distress and had water.

6:53 p.m. – Leslie Lafayette Bone, 51, cited for failure to wear a seatbelt, Main and 18th.

6:59 p.m. – Caller reported a wallet stolen from a vehicle, 5400 block of Main. Report taken.

7:38 p.m. – Caller found a lost dog, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows manufactured home park. Before officer arrival, caller reported she found the owner.

8:26 p.m. – Caller reported concerns over dogs in the neighborhood, 2200 block of Larch. Information noted.

10:09 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked along the street, 1400 block of Tamarack. Officer responded and contacted a male who had pulled over to use his phone.

11:04 p.m. – Amber Dawn Barton, 40, cited and released in field on Linn County Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on a citation, 4400 block of Main.

May 31

2:13 a.m. – Jimmy Leon Coonrod, 66, cited on two Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Albany.

6:58 a.m. – Caller reported a black and white malamute dog running down the road toward Main Street, 18th Avenue at School District bus barn. Owner collected the dog. Owner warned for keeping a dog as a public nuisance.

10:04 a.m. – Gene Rae Montgomery, 47, arrested on state warrant for parole violation, Wiley Creek park. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:48 a.m. – Prestin James Hugley, 35, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Lane County.

11:47 a.m. – Caller reported an argument that resulted in a broken front door and possibly injured child, 3239 Main St., Midway Market. Officer spoke to all involved. The owner of the store requested the male be trespassed from location

12:01 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of her son’s X-Box controller and friend’s Go Pro, 200 block of 23rd. Report taken.

2:58 p.m. – Shane William Wells, 43, arrested for failure to register as a sex offender, Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of failure to register as a sex offender, Linn County warrant for probation violation and failure to appear, Lebanon warrant for probation violation and contempt of court and Albany warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1700 block of Tamarack. Wells also cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle. Cited and released.

6:24 p.m. – Austin Alan Ross, 21, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of attempting to elude, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School.

11:01 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog had been barking nonstop for about five hours, 900 block of Birch. Officer warned the owner. The owner said she fell asleep and accidentally left the dog outside. The owner brought the dog inside.

May 30

3:12 a.m. – Caller reported that a truck with bright lights pulled into his driveway and then left, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

3:48 a.m. – Caller reported that a truck pulled into his driveway again and if it returned, the caller said he would shoot out the headlights, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

4:07 a.m. – Caller reported a male on a bicycle near her residence, 1200 block of 40th. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate. Bicycle seized as found property.

7:14 a.m. – Caller reported an elderly couple in a white van stopping kids walking to school and asking them if they need a ride, 1300 block of Tamarack. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

7:43 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking with a machete in his hand, Long Street at Sweet Home Inn. Officer contacted the male and provided a courtesy ride home. The male will not be walking around with a knife any more.

8:16 a.m. – Caller reported a bicycle stolen from the parking lot, 1200 12th Ave., Chewy’s. Information noted.

10:44 a.m. – Caller reported a big white friendly dog running loose, jumping on children and knocking children down, 605 Elm St., Oak Heights Elementary. Officer responded. The dog’s owner caught the dog.

11:04 a.m. – Ryan Joe Holley, 43, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft, Albany.

11:34 a.m. – Caller reported a male subject dragging a cowering small dog on a leash and throwing it on the ground, 40th and Long. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.

4:46 p.m. – Mark Anthony Simpson, 48, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of failure to register as a sex offender, Eugene.

8:22 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor was doing cookies in the road on an ATV and revving the engine, 1800 block of Vine. Officer contacted a male and female at location and advised them of the possible city code violation for riding an ATV on the street.

May 29

7:39 a.m. – Multiple callers reported a female walking on Highway 228 around milepost 19 nearly hit by multiple vehicles. Officer unable to locate.

7:53 a.m. – Caller reported two shoplifters, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Officer counseled two juveniles and trespassed them from the location.

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported a physical altercation between a teacher and the caller’s son, 880 22nd Ave., Sweet Home Junior High. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

1:27 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into the caller’s house while the caller was gone, 1400 block of Meadowlark. Report taken. Loss valued at $615.

2:03 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious van followed his son home from school, 400 block of Oak Terrace. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate the described vehicle.

2:52 p.m. – Caller reported a dog locked inside a hot vehicle, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Vehicle gone upon officer arrival.

5:07 p.m. – Caller reported that an elderly woman’s scooter died on the side of the road, Main and Clark Mill. Officer responded with the fire department and assisted in getting the woman home.

9:07 p.m. – Caller reported a husky running loose, 47th and Main. Officer unable to locate.

9:27 p.m. – Anthony Justin Zib, 41, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Corvallis.

May 28

1:18 p.m. – David Forrest, 25, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation, 1825 Long St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:39 p.m. – Caller reported a burglary and the theft of $690 worth of items and damage, 42400 block of Ames Creek.

2:57 p.m. – Officer located a vehicle key, 1712 11th Ave., Northside Park. Placed in found property.

3:44 p.m. – Kyle Elmer, 28, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree escape, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

5:35 p.m. – Amanda Binks, 26, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft, Tamarack and 18th. Cited and released.

6:57 p.m. – Lesa Carina Hansen, 38, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 4200 block of Long. Caller had reported a 2-year-old walking in the roadway with no parents around.

7:15 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog, 1300 block of Long. Officer unable to locate.

9:28 p.m. – Caller reported that a male stole chicken, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer to trespass the male when located.

9:42 p.m. – Tyson Derek Boren, 35, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of meth, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

10:02 p.m. – Kelee Gatliff, 54, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended, and Randy Dale Ensley, 55, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 1500 block of Main. Both cited and released.

11:05 p.m. – Caller reported people going through a dumpster at Sweet Home High School, 1641 Long St. Two males trespassed, and a female warned for trespassing.

May 27

7:57 a.m. – Caller reported a couch had been dumped at Sweet Home Gleaners, 3031 Main St. Report taken.

10:36 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dogs were out and acting aggressively, 900 block of Terrace Lane. Officer unable to locate.

12:41 p.m. – Caller reported his vehicle stolen, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Report taken.

2:51 p.m. – Caller reported people going through a trash bin, 1118 Main St., O’Reilly Auto Parts. Officer contacted two subjects, advised them of the complaint and told them to move on.

3:02 p.m. – Caller reported that a male close-lined him while he was riding a bicycle and accused him of going into the subject’s yard, and a second caller reported a male came out of a home and close-lined a male off of a bicycle, hit him and threatened to kill him if the bicyclist looked at the property again, 1400 block of Sunset. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

4:07 p.m. – Caller reported an ATV on the BMX track, 877 14th Ave. Officer contacted an individual and counseled him for riding the ATV in the park. The subject took the ATV home.

10:23 p.m. Jimmy Rodger Varner, 52, arrested fo failure to register as a sex offender, 1400 block of 42nd. Cited and released.
