9:24 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his vehicle and items were missing, 1200 block of 23rd. Report taken.
9:53 a.m. – Deputy warned individuals about overnight camping and advised them to leave the area, North River and Sunnyside.
10:10 a.m. – Caller reported fourth-hand information that his neighbor believes that the caller has bugged the neighbor’s residence, 4500 block of Long. Officer contacted the caller by phone. Information noted.

2:27 p.m. – Caller reported a dog in the parking lot, 5400 block of Main. Officer unable to locate. A neighbor said a female was out looking for a dog.
3:22 p.m. – Terry Lee Anderson, 57, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and felon in possession of a restricted weapon, Lebanon.
4:08 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked for more than two days, Main and 1st. Posted for removal.
4:09 p.m. – Caller reported a dog at large attacked another dog and a male on a skateboard was injured, 1300 block of Tamarack. Owner of the dog was warned for dog at large.
4:43 p.m. – Caller reported that juveniles removed a stop sign, 14th and Kalmia. Officer responded. A juvenile had leaned against the sign, and it fell over. The sign appeared to be partly rusted out at the bottom. Public Works contacted to replace the sign. No crime.

3:23 a.m. – Laryssa Jean Cox arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of second-degree theft and Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of heroin, 1951 12th Ave. Caller had reported an overdose. 5:20 p.m. – Caller reported that while walking home, a car with several men approached, and the men tried to talk to her, 9th and Nandina. One of the males got out of the car, and the caller ran away. Males gone upon officer arrival. Officer contacted the caller and advised her about safer ways to walk in town.

5:52 p.m. – Deputy located one illegal campfire and three illegal camps on Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service and Campbell Global property, Quartzville Road.
6:34 p.m. – Caller reported four adults sitting in a grassy area smoking weed, 1900 block of Main. They had an infant with them. Officer contacted four subjects. One admitted to smoking earlier. Officer counseled them on marijuana laws.
6:42 p.m. – Jerry Ray Milligan, 72, cited for no seatbelt, Long and 18th.
6:54 p.m. – Charity Leslie, 36; Iokepa Leslie, 27; Eva Wilkinson, 65; William Wilkinson, 69; and Jodeanna Wilkinson, 20, cited for second-degree criminal trespass, 51300 block of Quartzville. Deputy had contacted a large family camped on U.S. Forest Service property longer than 14 days. It was the third time the deputy had contacted the group at three different locations. The group, along with five children and various animals, left the area.
6:59 p.m. – Avraj Singh Dhote, 18, cited for speeding, 65 mph in a 45-mph zone, Main and Clark Mill.

7:54 p.m. – Nicholas Paul Umphress, 31, arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving and cited for no license and driving uninsured, 4100 block of Long. Caller had reported a vehicle crashing into her yard, 4100 block of Long. Vehicle impounded.
8:46 p.m. – Connor Logan Herber, 20, cited for speeding, Highway 228 and Long.
9:24 p.m. – Caller reported that her neighbors had been gone for two days and their dog was barking nonstop, 2400 block of Long. Officer responded. The dog was inside the residence barking. Officer was unable to locate a contact number for the resident. Code enforcement notied.
10:03 p.m. – Barbara Kapicka, 55, cited for failure to register as a sex offender, 51300 block of Quartzville. Deputy had located an illegal camp. Occupant cleared up the camp.
11:11 p.m. – Caller had concerns about someone breaking into his house, 43000 block of North River. Information noted.
11:12 p.m. – Caller found a dog running at large, 43rd and Airport. Dog placed in kennel.
11:19 p.m. – One person cited for an illegal fire, 49400 block of Quartzville. Deputy had located two males with an illegal campfire with a nearby “no fire” sign, 49400 block of Quartzville. The name of the person cited was unavailable at press time.
11:32 p.m. – Deputy found an unattended fire in a dirt parking area, 48700 block of Quartzville. Three pieces of firewood were burning without a fire ring. It appeared there had been no attempt to extinguish the fire. Deputies put out the fire.
11:50 p.m. – Deputy contacted a male sleeping in the back of a truck and warned him for illegal camping, 48700 block of Quartzville.

6:57 a.m. – Caller reported a stray dog, 3rd and Elm. Officer unable to locate.
8:27 p.m. – Deputy located an illegal camp, 44100 block of Highway 20. Male and female were educated about camping in the area. They were given one hour to vacate the area.
9 a.m. – Caller reported that a male slashed his tires and kicked in his front door, 1400 block of 13th. Report taken.
9:08 a.m. – Caller reported that an elderly male was demanding a cashier’s check to send overseas, 1266 15th Ave., Wells Fargo. Staff members have told him multiple times that it is a scam, but he was refusing to listen. An officer contacted the male. He was not receptive to the fact that he had been victimized by a scam. According to the bank, he had lost approximately $40,000 in the past few months. The officer contacted the male’s son and advised him of the situation.
10:54 a.m. – Caller reported that someone went through and opened his mail, 1300 block of Tamarack. Caller wanted the information documented and to have extra patrol around his residence. Information documented.

4:25 a.m. – Caller reported a dog barking again, 2100 block of Ames Creek. Officer responded. Dog was barking sporadically. Officer spoke with the owner by phone. The owner and his wife were at work but planned to work on ways to remedy the issue.
6:52 a.m. – Caller reported being the victim of multiple phone scams, 3100 block of Main. Officer provided him with options.
8:28 a.m. – Fire department responded to a small fire under the bridge, Wiley Creek and Main Street.

10:23 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of $24 worth of gasoline, 43100 block of North River.

1:25 a.m. – Caller reported a male riding a bicycle into garbage cans, 7th and Oak Terrace. Officer contacted the male. He said he was having a bad night and ran into a garbage can. He agreed to remain calm for the remainder of the night. Officer checked the garbage can. It was not damaged.
4:43 a.m. – Caller reported a dog was outside and barking, 2100 block of Ames Creek. Officer unable to contact owner. Left a business card for contact later. Code enforcement notified.

5:32 p.m. – Caller reported that a female left her dog in a vehicle while shopping at Safeway, 1540 Main St. The caller called back and said another vehicle in the parking lot also had a dog inside it. Officer responded. Dog owners arrived. The dogs were fine and not in distress.

5:52 p.m. – Caller reported a dog left in the vehicle while the owner went into the bank, 1266 15th Ave., Wells Fargo. Officer delayed by another call. Vehicle gone upon arrival.
6:01 p.m. – Caller reported two trucks parked on county property and people possibly fishing down at the ponds on mill property, 1400 block of Clark Mill. Officer contacted three males fishing at the ponds. They were advised of private property and not to return.
6:43 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog continually gets out and has started to break the caller’s backyard fence. Owner advised of the complaint, and he said he would work on keeping the dog under control.
8:40 p.m. – Carrie Ann Giles, 37, arrested for criminal trespass, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released. Officer had located a female running through the secured parking lot of the Police Department.
8:48 p.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose in the apartment complex, 300 W. Holley Road, Stonebrook Apartments. Neighbors were able to get the dog in the house. Officer left a business card for the owner.
11:07 p.m. – Diana Lynn Hall, 61, arrested on Brownsville warrant for contempt of court and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of third-degree theft and failure to appear on a criminal citation, 6305 Main St., The Point Restaurant. Cited and released. Caller had reported a vehicle parked in the back and subjects with flashlights.

3:18 a.m. – Callers reported a male walking in the middle of the roadway with a bag of cans, 1500 block of Main. Officer contacted the male, who was intoxicated, and warned him for disorderly conduct.
5:03 a.m. – Officer located an air conditioner that had a part stolen, 1155 22nd Ave., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Report taken.
5:09 a.m. – Officer located a cable box that had been damaged, Husky Field.
8:20 a.m. – Leslee Gail Huerta-Fernandez, 32, cited for dog at large, 1800 block of Kalmia. Caller had reported a dog coming to her apartment complex and being aggressive toward people.
8:31 a.m. – Veronica Sue Szuch, 22, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.
8:56 a.m. – Jody Lawrence Maruffo, 40, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of harassment, 2200 block of Main.
9:10 a.m. – Chavana Ann Bowser, 26, arrested on Linn County Justice Court warrant for failure to appear, Marion County warrant for third-degree theft and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charges of second-degree theft and probation violation, Northside Park. 5:35 p.m. – Richard Kyle Huffman, 30, cited for second-degree criminal trespass, 43100 block of Marks Ridge. Deputy had located a male and his 14-year-old nephew target shooting on Cascade Timber Consulting property, which is closed to the public due to extreme fire danger.
5:58 p.m. – Caller found drug paraphernalia, 1000 block of 18th. Seized for destruction.
6:09 p.m. – Caller reported a line down, 4300 block of Airport. Officer responded and found telephone lines down and a power pole leaning. Not a hazard at the time. CenturyLink and Pacific Power advised.
7:42 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog continues to bark, 1300 block of 53rd. Officer contacted the owner, who agreed to keep them quiet. Information sent to code enforcement officer.

10:47 p.m. – Nicholas Cunningham, 24, arrested for felony fourth-degree assault, 41400 block of McQueen Drive. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11:06 p.m. – Caller reported a male had called for medics because he had chest pains, 1540 Main St., Safeway. When medics arrived, he said he just wanted a ride out of town because someone was after him. Officer responded and provided a courtesy transport to another location in Sweet Home.
