Aug. 25

1:09 a.m. – Caller reported a male going through dumpsters, Trailer Villa. Officer contacted a male and advised him his actions could lead to criminal action. The male said he would move along.

Aug. 24

1:50 a.m. – Stephen Anthony Schmidt, 35, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of providing false information to a police officer, Corvallis. Cited and released.

9:17 a.m. – Gaylynn Estep, 47, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charges of second-degree criminal trespass and probation violation and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1900 block of Long.

9:49 a.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s cat keeps coming into his yard, 1200 block of 44th. Referred to code enforcement.

10:26 a.m. – Caller reported that she ran over a neighbor’s foot, 3700 block of Long. Report taken.

10:31 a.m. – Caller reported a raft stolen from her backyard during the previous two days, 1600 block of Long. Report taken. Loss valued at $200.

1:14 p.m. – Caller reported receiving a fraudulent check in the mail as a result of a Craigslist ad, 1100 block of 27th. She did not give out any information and was not out any money. The sender was unknown and did not make any request for return payment. Information noted. Caller advised to contact the Federal Trade Commission for further reporting.

1:17 p.m. – Anthony Wade Fincher, 28, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal mischief, Albany. Cited and released.

2:21 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 4800 block of 48th. Referred to code enforcement.

2:32 p.m. – Caller reported a male and female living in a vehicle by the lake, Foster Dam Road and Poplar. Officer contacted a male and female who said they were waiting on a part to fix their vehicle. They were aware that they cannot park or camp overnight. Linn County Park Ranger said the subjects were to be trespassed if found there during the night.

3:52 p.m. – Deputy located three illegal camps, 51100 block of Quartzville. Deputy advised all campers they could only camp at sites with steel fire rings and warned them for trespass. They were to move their camp sites by nightfall.

5:14 p.m. – James Robert Warrington, 38, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrants for two counts of failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Main and 15th.

5:21 p.m. – Harvey Michael Kapicka, 32, turned in himself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

5:54 p.m. – Caller found a key in the parking lot, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Placed in found property.

Aug. 23

12:19 a.m. – Caller reported three dogs loose, and one of them tried to attack her, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Officer unable to locate.

9:42 a.m. – Caller reported a towing business operating out of a residence, 1100 block of 29th. Referred to code enforcement.

9:56 a.m. – Kyle Jordan Frederick, 20, cited for driving uninsured and failure to obey traffic control device, Mountain View and 22nd.

10:15 a.m. – Brandon John Cassidy Kirby, 24, arrested on Multnomah County warrant for second-degree criminal trespass, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

10:34 a.m. – Deputies responded to a report of potential child neglect, 43300 block of Ames Creek. Deputies spoke with two family members who agreed to temporarily foster the children until their mother could make better living arrangements. Department of Human Services notified.

11:03 a.m. – Caller reported a backpack with drugs and needles, Upper Sankey Park. Property seized.

1:47 p.m. – Caller reported a motor home parked on the street for more than a week, Evergreen and Highway 228. Posted for removal.

3:25 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into her house, 4800 block of Main. Report taken for criminal mischief. Damage estimated at $100.

4:26 p.m. – James Robert Warrington, 38, cited for consumption of alcohol in a public place, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Caller had reported two males passed out with an open container of alcohol.

5:23 p.m. – Mark James Rettinger, 46, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

5:41 p.m. – Caller reported that her boyfriend went out for milk the previous night and had not returned, 22nd and Main. Report taken.

5:44 p.m. – Caller reported a fifth wheel trailer parked for several weeks, 2100 block of 18th. Officer left a business card for registered owner.

7:46 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog charged at her while she was walking her dog, 44th and Airport. Officer contacted all parties and mediated. Owner of dog apologized.

8:25 p.m. – Donald Wayne Ames Jr. arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and cited for no seatbelt and driving uninsured, All Star Pizza. Cited and released. Vehicle impounded.

11:31 p.m. – Caller reported that a female was dragging a shopping cart along her vehicle while driving, 18th and Main. Officer contacted the female and warned her for her actions.

Aug. 22

12:18 a.m. – Ovid John Teixeira, 53, arrested on state warrant for parole violation on original charge of larceny, 46th and Main. Caller had reported a male siphoning fuel from a tractor. Officer contacted a male who was siphoning fuel from his own vehicles.

1:18 a.m. – Oregon State Police arrested Bradley Edward Amundsen, 37, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to comply on original charges of possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree attempted criminal mischief. Cited and released.

7:38 a.m. – Caller reported that people at the bus stop have garbage all over the ground, 13th and Kalmia. Officer contacted a male, who advised he would have it picked up by noon.

9:57 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke the back window of his vehicle while parked at Calkins Boat Ramp. Damage estimated at $500.

10:58 a.m. – Caller reported money withdrawn from her checking account without her authorization, 26800 block of Old Holley. Report taken.

11:32 a.m. – Caller reported a dog barking, 1700 block of Dogwood. Officer responded to find two dogs barking loudly. No one was home at the residence. Dispatch contacted a resident, who would have someone put the dogs in the house.

11:41 a.m. – Caller reported a dog inside a vehicle, 2400 block of Main. Officer contacted the owner of the vehicle and counseled the owner on leaving a dog in a vehicle.

12:19 p.m. – Caller reported that her brother was dropped off at a bus stop in Sweet Home, and he had not been heard from since. Report taken.

12:50 p.m. – Caller reported that an RV had been parked on the side of the road for at least a week, 2000 block of 18th. Officer contacted the owner, who said it would be moved by the next day. Owner advised of city ordinance.

1:25 p.m. – Lacey Marie Davidson, 38, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, and Brandon Ryan Freeman, 23, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charges of possession of meth and harassment and Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply on original charges of third-degree theft, 1198 38th Ave. Davidson cited and released. Freeman transported to Linn County Jail.

3:03 p.m. – Caller reported a male lying on the sidewalk, 1303 Long St., Sweet Home Post Office. Officer contacted a male who was sleeping and then was on his way.

6:11 p.m. – Callers reported a dog was loose, 1800 block of Grape. Dog returned to owner, who was warned for dog as a public nuisance.

6:58 p.m. – Missing male located and cleared from the Law Enforcement Database, 1530 Main St., Santiam Drug.

7:52 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor had eight marijuana plants on his porch, 1200 block of 44th. Officer contacted a male who was trying to use marijuana for medical issues. The plants on his porch were all dead. He was advised he could only have four plants.

10:29 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog, Highway 228 and Fern Ridge. Officer unable to locate.

10:30 p.m. – Caller reported that someone was flying a drone in the area, 12th and Grape. Officer unable to locate.

Aug. 21

8:11 a.m. – Officer located a bicycle, 700 block of Mountain View. Placed in found property.

10:52 a.m. – Caller reported that his vehicle was hit the previous day, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Report taken.

12:14 p.m. – Caller reported that someone was sleeping in a vehicle parked east of Edgewater Marina, and the person left a lot of litter. Officer contacted a male and female and advised them they need to move the vehicle. The officer warned them for littering.

3:33 p.m. – Caller located a syringe, 1200 block of 23rd. Officer disposed of the syringe.

4:22 p.m. – Deputy located five people camped on the banks of Foster Lake between Lewis Creek Park and Gedney Creek Boat Ramp. They camped during the night to watch the eclipse. Deputy advised them to dismantle their camp and leave. They started doing it as the deputy left.

4:28 p.m. – Tony Ray Roebuck, 23, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended, 2454 Long St. Cited and released.

4:39 p.m. – Caller reported that her boyfriend left the morning of Aug. 20 and had not returned, 1200 block of 49th. Report taken.

9:01 p.m. – Caller reported that she located a bag of meth in a jacket that was given to her, 3100 block of Main. Officer seized the bag for destruction.

9:36 p.m. – Matthew Carl Martin, 27, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, Lebanon Justice Court warrant for failure to appear and a new charge of second-degree criminal mischief, 1627 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:54 p.m. – Caller reported that he was gone for three weeks, and he came home to his house trashed and a siphon hose sticking out of a vehicle, 2000 block of Long. He believed his son was involved. Information noted. Items seized.

11:18 p.m. – Caller reported a disagreement between two camps, 49400 block of Quartzville. A male from one camp was upset that someone broke into his camper, and the neighboring camp started a campfire. The caller stated that a male pointed a weapon at him. That male had a BB gun and said he never pointed it at anyone. Both parties separated. Report to be forwarded to district attorney for review.
