4:10 p.m. – Water rescue, 44400 block of North River. Two adults and four juveniles, ages 10-17 were aboard a boat when the bow went under the water. Everyone got out of the water safely. The boat operator said the 1972 Marlin tri-hull boat began taking on a little bit of water throughout the day. While headed back to dock to load the boat, the bow went below the waterline and began taking on water. Report taken.

10:20 p.m. – Brittany Kay Baxter, 24, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and new charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of meth and possession of a stolen vehicle; and Aaron Daniel McCahan, 23, arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Both transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported that a male and female had approached him, asked for drugs, and then bragged that their car was stolen. Officer responded and located two subjects in possession of a car reported stolen out of Portland.
11:15 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s dog barks constantly, 1300 block of Poplar. Message left for owner of dog. Dog quieted down.
July 31
7:09 a.m. – Caller reported what appeared to be a cash drawer on top of the caller’s garbage can, 1333 Main St., Home Sweet Home Cafe. Officer responded and found something that appeared to be discarded into the trash from another business and then moved to the caller’s trash. Seized as found property.
9:25 a.m. – Caller reported several motor homes and trailers in the Sweet Home Police Department parking lot, 1950 Main St. The caller said they had been there since the previous Friday. Officer contacted a responsible person and advised the person of city ordinance. The person planned to move them within the hour.
10:58 a.m. – Caller reported a pile of blankets next to a building, 1240 10th Ave. Caller believed someone may have been sleeping under them. Officer responded. No one was under the blankets. Officer contacted the caller and a representative of Subway. They asked that subjects connected to the blankets be trespassed.
1:53 p.m. – Teddy Deann Gregg, 44, cited for driving while suspended, 2300 block of Main. Caller had reported a pickup hitting the caller’s vehicle. Report taken for hit and run, and the office planned to attempt to locate the owner of the other vehicle.
1:54 p.m. – Caller reported that neighbors have 18 chickens that do not stay in their yard and destroy the caller’s and another neighbor’s yard, 1100 block of 46th. Referred to code enforcement.

6:08 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor put up a camera that was pointing directly at the caller’s child’s bedroom, 300 block of 18th. Officer contacted the owner. It was not a camera. It was a bird house with a mirror on it. The owner took it down so there wouldn’t be any further problems.
