Dec. 20

1:50 a.m. – Deputy found a small tree and several branches on the road blocking one lane, 41200 block of Skyline Road. Tree and branches removed.

Dec. 19

2:55 a.m. – David Justin Laylon, 49, arrested on Sweet home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of attempted second-degree burglary, Linn County.

3:20 a.m. – Eric Edwin Steinborn, 42, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation, 300 W. Holley Road. Caller had reported hearing a male screaming and a woman crying across the Stonebrook Apartments complex.

7:51 a.m. – Deputy located a crashed vehicle, 27500 block of Liberty. Deputy contacted the registered owner, who said he inadvertently drove into a ditch. He had AAA en route to remove it. No injuries.

11:40 a.m. – Caller reported his license plate stolen or lost, Sweet Home area. Information noted.

12:33 p.m. – Caller reported a motor home parked and using power, 1300 block of Quince. Officer responded. Male moved vehicle prior to officer arrival. Caller just wanted them not to return and information noted.

3 p.m. – Kaby Patricia Keith-Heidt, 23, arrested for first-degree forgery, All Star. Cited and released.

6:02 p.m. – Caller reported an unknown male took her phone Nov. 14, 1200 12th Ave, Chewy’s. Report taken.

7:28 p.m. – Zona Mae Carper, 49, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of first-degree criminal trespass, Portland.

Dec. 18

1:39 a.m. – Mary Katherine Rocheforte, 62, arrested for first-degree assault, 1370 Clark Mill Road. Rocheforte called police to report shooting her husband, Ronald Basl, 59, in his sleep. Male transported to hospital. Rocheforte transported to Linn County Jail.

10:39 a.m. – Eric Raymond Shipp, 45, turned himself in on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

10:54 a.m. – Caller reported a student running down the street, 5500 block of Poplar. Officer located student. Student released to parents.

10:58 a.m. – Donald Ray Walkup, 25, taken into custody for contempt of court, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Municipal Court. Held temporarily and then released.

11:44 a.m. – Caller believed he was being scammed in an Internet transaction. Information noted.

12:01 p.m. – Caller reported a cow got out while a fence was being worked on, 29100 block of Pleasant Valley. Owner got the cow safely returned inside the fence as deputy arrived.

2:57 p.m. – Coffee Creek Correctional Facility placed a hold on Bryce Taylor Keenon, 23, on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree theft and third-degree theft.

3:20 p.m. – Caller reported receiving fake $5 bills, 1501 Main St., Speedee Mart. Report taken.

5:40 p.m. – Caller reported that the back of her vehicle was spray painted, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Report taken.

6:59 p.m. – Caller reported that juveniles stole a bottle of wine, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Caller requested the juveniles be trespassed from location and parents notified.

9:33 p.m. – Caller reported that a female passed two fake $20 bills, 1203 Long St., All Star Pizza. Report taken. Loss valued at $40.

Dec. 17

12:19 a.m. – Lynnette Irene Johnson, 41, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal driving charge, Linn County.

1:37 a.m. – Joe Allen Wayne Wood, 30, arrested for first-degree criminal trespass, 1900 block of Main. Cited and released.

5:15 a.m. – Caller caught a loose dog, Main Street near Napa Auto Parts. Placed in kennel.

8:26 a.m. – Caller reported two dogs roaming the neighborhood, 1200 block of Cessna. Officer located the owner’s residence. No answer at the door. Dog placed back in its yard. Business card left for contact.

9:24 a.m. – Caller reported a sex offense, 41100 block of Skyline.

9:28 a.m. – Deputy advised the owner to dispose of dead livestock, 41600 block of Marks Ridge. Deputy issued a warning to the owner of the dog for dog trespassing and failure to license.

10:39 a.m. – Caller reported someone took and used his credit card, 1200 block of 23rd. Report taken. Loss valued at $500.

11:36 a.m. – James David Hackworth, 22, arrested for first-degree forgery, identity theft and first-degree theft, 15th and Main. Transported to Linn County Jail.

2:38 p.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on a neighbor who had fallen and laid on the ground for an extended period, 5300 block of Main. Officers responded. Medics transported male to hospital.

3:13 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke into his vehicle during the night and stole his pistol, 400 block of 7th. Report taken. Loss valued at $1,200.

3:46 p.m. – Crystal Dawn Strickland, 30, arrested for first-degree forgery and first-degree theft, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Transported to Linn County Jail.

4:04 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor’s kids keep coming onto his property after being told not to, 1200 block of 44th. They also tore down his “no trespassing” signs, and he caught them throwing rocks at his house. Officer contacted and trespassed four juveniles.

4:46 p.m. – Caller found a syringe on the ground, behind building, 1200 block of Long. Officer disposed of the syringe.

5:07 p.m. – Caller requested help closing her garage door, 1200 block of 49th. Officer assisted.

5:22 p.m. – Joshua Kealohanui Ben Leslie, 31, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal trespass, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Cited and released. Multiple callers reported a fight between two males.

Dec. 16

8:36 a.m. – Caller reported juvenile refusing to go to school, 1530 Tamarack St., Tamarack Ridge Estates. Officer counseled juvenile. Juvenile went to school.

9:25 a.m. – Caller reported that a female passed a counterfeit $20 bill, 925 Main St. Report taken.

11:19 a.m. – Two juveniles referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of tobacco and excluded from city parks for 30 days, 877 14th Ave, Sankey Park.

3:06 p.m. – Caller reported theft of tools valued at $180 three days prior, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. Report taken.

3:19 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that someone attempted to “SWAT” a local resident, but the ruse was discovered prior to deputy arrival, 44900 block of Quartzville.

4:13 p.m. – Caller reported that while the caller was walking dogs, an aggressive dog came out and almost attacked the caller’s 7-year-old, 1300 block of Tamarack. Officer contacted the owner of the dog. The owner denied the allegation. Owner warned of the consequences for dog at large.

5:03 p.m. – Caller reported her dog attacked the neighbor’s dog, 1100 block of 29th. Officer contacted the involved parties. The neighbor’s dog got into the caller’s yard and was almost attacked by the caller’s dog. Information noted.

5:06 p.m. – Caller reported someone took and used her credit card, 800 block of Dogwood. Report taken. Loss valued at $245.

5:11 p.m. – Caller reported someone was attempting to pay with a fake $100 bill, 1306 Main St., Main Street Market. Officer responded. The individual who paid with the fake bill did not know it was fake. Bill seized.

6:09 p.m. – Caller found two dogs wandering down the road, Ridgeway Road. Dogs placed in kennel.

7:44 p.m. – Caller reported a narcotics offense, 41800 block of North River.

8:47 p.m. – Rebecca Charlene Fox, 22, cited for driving while suspended, 1900 block of Long.

11:47 p.m. – Michelle Kimberly Ray, 29, arrested on Linn County warrant for parole violation on original charge of possession of methamphetamine, 621 Main St., Thriftway parking lot. Transported to Linn County Jail.
