6:50 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly and almost hitting the caller, 51300 block of Quartzville. Investigation continuing.
8:56 p.m. – Joseph Sizemore, 30, arrested on state warrant for parole violation on original charge of sexual assault, and Cathy Smith, 44, cited and released in field for felon in possession of a restricted weapon and Linn County Justice Court warrant for failure to comply on original charge of failure to appear in a violation proceeding, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Sizemore transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported a male using a needle in the bathroom and then sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot.

10:02 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle had been parked on the side of the street for about six months, 1100 block of 27th. Officer responded. No answer at residence although it appeared someone was home. Vehicles posted for removal.

12:06 p.m. – Caller reported someone was sleeping at the bus stop, 13th and Kalmia. Officer contacted a female subject who was sitting and not sleeping on the bench. Officer advised her of the complaint.
1:22 p.m. – Calvin John Dorgan, 33, cited for driving while suspended and improper display of registration stickers and cited and released in the field on Linn County Justice Court warrant for probation violation, west city limits.
2:20 p.m. – Caller found a credit card, 15th and Nandina. Placed in found property.
2:36 p.m. – Caller reported two dogs running loose, 3rd and Holley. Officer unable to locate.
4:55 p.m. – Deputy assisted a couple from Washington state, 44700 block of Quartzville. The couple became stuck in the snow 29 miles up Quartzville Road with a Sprinter van and a 16-foot horse trailer at approximately 2 p.m. They had stayed at Riverbend Park and thought the route was a shortcut back to Washington based on their maps. They encountered snow and ice and were unable to turn the trailer around on the narrow road. The trailer slid off the road, and they could not disconnect the van. The 71-year-old male rode his bicycle several miles down Quartzville Road where he was picked up by a log truck.
6:28 p.m. – Caller reported a female had been in the bathroom for the past five minutes with merchandise she did not pay for, 2414 Main St., Dollar Tree. Female left before officer arrival. Report taken. Loss valued at $15.
9 p.m. – Caller reported that a female in a red jacket walked out without paying for items, 2414 Main St., Dollar Tree. Officer contacted the female and recovered a couple of items. Caller did not want to pursue charges but wanted the female trespassed.
Feb. 6
2:33 a.m. – While on a traffic stop, drug detection dog alerted on a vehicle, Main and Clark Mill. Drug paraphernalia located and seized. Stolen property seized.
11:59 a.m. – Kevin Watkins, 40, cited on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal trespass, Albany.
1:02 p.m. – Caller reported a student was jumped at the park, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Student was home with grandmother. Caller did not believe there were any injuries. Information only at this time. The person involved did not want to press charges.

1:39 a.m. – Amy Ward, 35, arrested for fourth-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief, 1220 23rd Ave. Transported to Linn County Jail. The Linn County District Attorney filed an additional charge of fourth-degree assault and a charge of harassment.
7:55 a.m. – Caller reported cattle on the caller’s property, 24800 block of West Brush Creek. Deputy contacted the owner, who put the cows back in the pasture and began repairing the fence. The owner will be getting rid of the bull that has been damaging the fence.
