Feb. 19

12:53 a.m. – David Edward McCracken, 22, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of harassment, Portland. Cited and released.

2:47 a.m. – Caller reported a male sitting in the middle of the road, 200 block of Main. Officer contacted the male, who was in the process of moving out of the roadway. He agreed to stay on the sidewalk.

9:59 a.m. – Angela Dianne May, 38, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 1540 Main St.

10:34 a.m. – Officers responded to and extinguished a fire prior to firefighter arrival at an abandoned house, 3800 block of Green River. Report taken for arson.

Feb. 18

5:29 a.m. – Caller reported that a male approached her vehicle and told her to roll down her window, 1540 Main St., Safeway. When she didn’t, he cursed at her. He followed her to a different location in the parking lot and then left. She requested that police note the information.

11:15 a.m. – Roy Allen Sparhawk, 44, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on four counts of contempt of court and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation, 1241 Tamarack St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:46 p.m. – Christopher Thomas Meredith, 29, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and failure to appear, Long and 15th. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:56 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke in to her house through a bathroom window, 1200 block of 23rd. Report taken, although officer found no evidence of a crime.

2:36 pm. – Prestin James Hugley, 33, arrested for third-degree theft, 940 14th Ave. Cited and released. Caller had reported that a male subject had stolen his child’s bicycle from his yard. The caller caught up to him and got the bike back, and the subject was walking on Long near 18th.

3:25 p.m. – Caller reported that a male subject urinates every day out in the open, a trail off Harding. Officer attempted to contact the male, but he would not come to the door.

6:05 p.m. – Caller found two guitars, 1600 block of 18th. Placed in found property.

Feb. 17

9:09 a.m. – Caller reported multiple vehicles and junk in a front yard, 1100 block of Redwood. Referred to code enforcement.

9:16 a.m. – Andrea Joyce Ashby, 36, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation, 1214 Long St., Sweet Home Vet Clinic.

9:26 a.m. – Caller reported that someone put a pile of brush right in front of his front door 1000 block of 14th. Officer responded. Report taken. Someone had moved the caller’s own brush pule onto his porch.

3:10 p.m. – Tiffany Anne Burks, 36, turned in herself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct, 1950 Main St, Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

3:25 p.m. – Caller reported that juveniles walked out in front of him, and when he corrected them, they smart mouthed him and a female spit on him, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer unable to locate juveniles.

Feb. 16

10:21 a.m. – Laticia Pilar Sanchez, 27, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of third-degree theft and new charges of possession of meth and heroin, 1220 23rd Ave. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11:52 a.m – Caller turned in a wallet someone turned in at the Post Office, 1303 Long St. Placed in found property.

12:20 p.m. – Caller reported that a male subject had been stealing items from her, 100 block of eighth.

1:22 p.m. – Caller reported that two dogs had killed a neighbor’s chickens, 1300 block of First. Officer unable to contact anyone and left business cards on doors in the area.

1:36 p.m. Jeremy Lee Sanders, 34, cited for failure to obey a traffic control device in two-vehicle crash, Main and 22nd. No injuries. Damage more than $1,500.

2:07 p.m. – Franklin Claybon Edwards III, 44, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of failure to appear (owed 19 days in jail), 1351 Pleasant Valley Road. Transported to Linn County Jail.

3:45 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of medication, 1700 block of 19th. Information noted.

6:09 p.m. – Caller reported that someone was underneath her home trying to saw holes in the floor, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer unable to locate any holes or suspicious activity.

10:17 p.m. – Konane Nicoiulane Leslie, 23, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for probation violation on original charge of driving while suspended, 900 Oak Terrace.

Feb. 15

2:20 a.m. – Ladonna Gayle Bales, 41, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Eugene. Cited and released.

10:59 a.m. – Caller reported that someone used her Social Security number to open an account to try to get her Social Security benefits, 5400 block of Poplar. Report taken. Subject was unable to get Social Security benefits.

2 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a firearm, 1100 block of 29th. Report taken.

4:39 p.m. – Caller reported a dog at large, Nandina and Westwood. Officer unable to locate.

4:46 p.m. – Geremy George Byzewski, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Linn County.

8:54 p.m. – Caller found a backpack, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Placed in found property.

9:09 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his trailer and stole his phone, 1400 block of 13th. Report taken.

Feb. 14

3:10 a.m. – Caller turned in a backpack she found lying next to her vehicle, 1300 block of 13th. Placed in found property.

6:31 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his vehicle, 13th and Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $100.

8:57 a.m. – Justin Lee Walker, 29, arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), 1265 44th Ave. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:08 a.m. – Officer responded to a reported fire, 2000 block of Willow. Fire was at a homeless camp. Unknown cause. Investigation continuing.

12:27 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle hit in the parking lot, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Investigation continuing.

12:55 p.m. – Caller reported that a female ran through a stop sign and hit a flagger, Long and 40th. Officer contacted the registered owner, who did not see the flagger. The officer notified DMV to have the female retested.

2:02 p.m. – A 17-year-old male juvenile taken into custody for third-degree theft, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Cited and released. Caller had reported a male stealing a cookie.

2:37 p.m. – Caller reported that a female was being scammed by the “Nigerian president” and sending a male subject’s money to them without permission, 5400 block of Poplar. Officer contacted the male and female and provided a phone number for the Federal Trade Commission.

6 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dog was barking nonstop for several hours, 1100 block of Second. Officer contacted the owner and advised him of the complaint.

6:53 p.m. – Caller reported that someone is living in the bathroom in the horseshoe area in the turn-around in the gravel pit, 4500 block Quartzville Road. A deputy responded and found litter and a sleeping pad in the bathroom at the location. No one was found, and the Linn County Parks was notified that the bathroom was unsecured.

Feb. 13

6 a.m. – Robert Kenneth La Follette, 34, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of driving under the influence, Albany. Cited and released.

11:11 a.m. – Caller reported that a ring was stolen in the past three months, 2400 block of Long. Report taken.

12:33 p.m – Paul Michael Peterson, 31, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of hit and run, Linn County. Cited and released.

12:42 p.m. – Buzz Starr Dodson Jr., 19, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to renew registration, 1501 Main St., Speedee Mart.

2:43 p.m. – Caller had a video showing six high school students using a vape pen on bus garage property. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

3:41 p.m. – Non-injury crash reported, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Report taken. Damage more than $1,500.

3:57 p.m. – Single-vehicle crash, 42200 block of North River. A driver failed to negotiate a curve and ended up in a ditch. Report taken. No citations.

4:55 p.m. – Caller reported a dog was running in the road, 5400 block of Main. Caller returned the dog to owner prior to officer arrival.

6:11 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a chainsaw from his truck, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $450.

Feb. 12

2:08 p.m. – Calvin Alvin Ames, 51, arrested for contempt of court and failure to register as a sex offender, 55th and Larch. Transported to Linn County Jail.

2:53 p.m. – Donald Ray Walkup Jr., 22, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft and Linn County warrants for probation violation on original charge of assaulting a public safety officer, for harassment and for failure to comply on two counts of third-degree theft, minor in possession and third-degree escape (owed 28 days in jail), 13th and Nandina. Transported to Linn County Jail.

2:58 p.m. – Jacob Mitchell Thurber, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

3:07 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his shop, 40800 block of Highway 228. One of the doors was broken. Nothing was known to have been taken. Report taken.

3:23 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of her property, 5500 block off Quince. Report taken. Loss valued at $4,032.

4:06 p.m. – R.C. Phillips, 48, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County. Cited and released.

4:39 p.m. – Jordan Reed Kitto, 50, arrested for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespass and failure to register as a sex offender, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported witnessing a male subject opening the back door of a vehicle and taking a backpack. When the caller yelled at him, the subject put it back and headed toward Long Street with another male.

Feb. 11

4:45 p.m. – Caller reported he had a burglar alarm earlier in the week, 38200 block of Courtney Creek. He realized later that there are two guns and a laptop missing. Report taken.

5:48 p.m. – Caller reported a male and female camping in the woods about 400 yards from the park, 44700 block Quartzville Road. They had an open campfire going. A deputy responded and advised them there was no camping in the area.

Feb. 8

8:03 a.m. – Caller said that on Highway 20 near the 500 line there is a man who comes out and yells at the caller every day when he goes by in his log truck.

A deputy spoke with the caller but could not get in touch with the man who was yelling and is still working on making contact with him. The man was yelling because he was upset about the trucks going by and “speeding,” as he perceives it.

2:50 p.m. – A caller said someone stole a rocking chair, valued at $150, from her living room, 43800 block of Lakeview Way. The location is an adult care home. Report taken.
