July 27

8:45 a.m. – Andrew Dallas Samson, 37, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of offensive littering.

9:59 a.m. – Caller reported his work boots were stolen from his vehicle, Wiley Creek Park. Report taken, loss valued at $380.

1:43 p.m. – Caller reported seeing a hypodermic needle near the sidewalk, 600 block of Main. Syringe disposed of.

4:33 p.m. – Caller reported two cars parked 47th and the railroad. Officer responded, white car was gone on arrival, burned car is the same that has been at the location for a few months, appears to have been towed to block vehicle access to property.

4:58 p.m. – Caller reported losing wallet on July 26 at Lakeside Market, 5401 Main. The store reviewed footage and saw a person pick up the wallet. Officer responded, reviewed security footage, contacted male who picked up the wallet. Wallet returned to owner.

8:46 p.m. – Caller reported a female stole items from his residence three or four days ago, 2200 block of Main. Officer responded, report taken, loss valued at approximately $3,000 and $300.

10:35 p.m. – Caller reported a male and female in a verbal altercation at McDonald’s, 2000 Main. Officer responded, contacted parties involved in verbal disturbance. Tom Charles Trotts, 46, was arrested on a Linn County warrant for aggravated ID theft, computer crimes, second-degree theft, and mail theft, as well as a Lebanon warrant for third-degree theft. He was cited and lodged at the Linn County jail.

July 28

5:04 a.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported a structure fire, 1500 block of Tamarack. Officer assisted with traffic control.

7:14 a.m. – Caller reported a male broke a door at location, 400 block of Holley. Officer responded, Caller had locked male out of his bedroom, male pushed door open, causing minimal damage that the male is planning on fixing. Both parties agreed to stay separated, Caller given info about eviction process.

11:52 a.m. – Caller reported physical disturbance, 28100 block of Riggs Hill. Officer responded to minor physical altercation, parties agreed to remain separated for the rest of the day. Luke Kenneth Dale Buehner, 36, cited and released in the field on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of contempt of court.

12:01 p.m. – Multiple Callers reported a homeless camp with items all over the ground, 13th and Kalmia. Officer responded, contacted males who were gathering belongings and leaving the area.

12:39 p.m. – Caller believes he may have left oven on, requested that an officer turn it off, 1500 block of 41st. Officer responded, contacted neighbor who also received a call from the resident, neighbor states everything was shut off and secured.

2:16 p.m. – Austin Haven Hansen, 24, came to the Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main, to turn himself in on a Linn County warrant for DUI and a Lake County warrant for failure to appear. Cited and released from Police Department lobby.

4:02 p.m. – Deputy patrolled Weyerhaeuser and Giustina land in Upper Calapooia area. Warned about 30 people for trespassing and four vehicles for illegal parking.

4:57 p.m. – Klamath County Sheriff’s Office cited Daniel Lee Adams, 49, on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge for third degree theft.

5:38 p.m. – Stolen vehicle recovered Marks Ridge/Ridgeway. Victim no longer wished to make report.

6:45 p.m. – Caller reported a male and female trespassing on bank property, 1266 15th, Wells Fargo. Officer responded, contacted three individuals. Two were given trespass warnings, Dawn Marie Thompson, 31, cited for criminal trespassing and released into the field.

8:10 p.m. – Michelle Lee Shaddon, 44, cited and released in the field on a Brownsville warrant for contempt of court.

July 29

12:29 a.m. – Caller reported two individuals walking down the street, setting off fireworks and shining flashlights in people’s yards, 2200 block of Long. Officer responded, was unable to locate individuals described.

1:22 a.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office served Veronica Sue Szuch, 24, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree theft.

4:29 a.m. – Officer saw a vehicle driving erratically, Main and Holley. Operator was having medical issues and was transported by medics. The dog in the vehicle will be placed in the police department kennel until the operator’s wife is able to retrieve it.

6:26 a.m. – Caller reported male is trying to start a fight with her and burning things in the back yard, 400 block of Holley. Officer responded, contacted all parties involved, advised Caller of burn ban.

7:35 a.m. – Rick Haptonstall (DOB: 09-27-84) is a transient in the Sweet Home area that has not been heard from since Tuesday 07-21-20. Investigation continuing.

11:46 a.m. – Caller reported his wife making credit card accounts in his name and using the funds for herself, 2800 block of Main. Case referred to Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

2:47 p.m. – Anthony Dale Williams, 18, cited for second-degree criminal mischief and released in the field.

3:49 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked on the street with a flat tire for an extended period of time, 9th and Nandina. Officer responded, vehicle tagged for removal.

8:41 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke the lock on her shed, 1500 block of Tamarack. Officer responded, report taken for second-degree criminal mischief, damage valued at $40.

7:01 p.m. – Caller reported her ex-husband was at the location, threatening to have his current girlfriend beat her up, 5400 block of Main. Officer responded, contacted male and trespassed him from the location. Caller advised.

8:51 p.m. – Officer located male and female with warrants, 4100 block of Long. Denise Rochelle Burrow, 53, cited and released on Linn county warrants for failure to appear on original charges of possession of meth, first-degree criminal trespass, and criminal citation. Allen Dale Ensley, 31, was cited and released on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of meth possession and a Douglas County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge for unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

9:37 p.m. – Michael Scott Seiber, 40, cited and released on a Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft.

11:47 p.m. – Caller heard a single gunshot to the east of his residence, 1100 block of 38th. Officer responded, checked area, unable to locate.

July 30

12:00 a.m. – Caller suspects his wife has been cheating on him, 4300 block of Long. He is very angry and has been drinking. He would like law enforcement to respond before the situation escalates. Officer responded, contacted parties involved, verbal dispute only. Caller given courtesy transport to a friend’s residence, where he will remain the rest of the night. Caller’s wife given contact info for Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence.

8:34 a.m. – Caller reported that juveniles disassembled a bike rack and took a board down that was screwed to a fence on July 25, 3205 Long, Hawthorne Elementary. Officer responded, report taken, damage was approximately $300.

8:40 a.m. – Corvallis Police arrested Peggy Lynn Gibson, 47, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft. Given a court date for Sept. 9.

9:25 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into vacant house in 40800 block McDowell Creek Drive and stole numerous items, including jewelry. Loss estimate unavailable. Caller removed other items of value from house. Report taken.

10:25 a.m. – Terry Ballweber, 58, turned himself in on a warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1950 Main, Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released in the field.

10:59 a.m. – Deschutes County located Ashley Kay Miles, 31, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft.

11:25 a.m. – Caller reported several people camped out in the parking lot, 1203 Long, All Star Pizza. Officer responded, no crime or violation, everyone is in the city parking lot.

12:35 p.m. – Albany Police located Sammy Raymond Hughes, 19, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charges for third-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief.

2:42 p.m. – Caller reported her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend was trying to break in the front door, 2500 block of Birch. Officer responded, ex-girlfriend had been living at the location, was able to go inside and gather some clothing.

4:45 p.m. – Firearms were seized for safekeeping, 1950 Main, SHPD.

5:41 p.m. – Caller reported vehicle was burglarized while parked in 44700 block Quartzville Road. Damage to vehicle estimated at more than $1,000, and $325 worth of items taken. Report taken.

9:03 p.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on her friend, who she couldn’t reach by phone that day, 600 block of 7th. Officer responded, contacted female who was unable to use her phone due to service provider outages.

11:49 p.m. – Albany Police located Lavern Blaze McCormick, 47, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply, second-degree trespass. Cited for August 26.

July 31

2:29 a.m. – Crystal Dawn Strickland, 30, cited and released on a Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal forgery.

2:43 a.m. – Oregon State Police requested assistance, 1st and Highway 228. Officer responded, seized lost firearm.

7:59 a.m. – Caller reported a hanging at the location, 300 block of 8th. Officer responded, report taken.

9:42 a.m. – Caller reported a dog bit her while on a run 4600 block of Long. Officer responded, contacted owner, counselled and advised to secure dog. Stated he would work on it.

11:12 a.m. – Caller reported a female lying on the porch, unknown if she is injured or intoxicated, 300 Holley, Seventh Day Adventist Church. Officer responded, Female was intoxicated and transported by medics to Linn County Hospital. Female’s son collected her property.

11:28 a.m. – Caller reported two unknown men dropped off a tarp yesterday and something appears to be wrapped up inside it, 1000 block of 45th. Officer responded, insulation and trash are wrapped in the tarp. A neighbor was contacted and will advise the property owners.

1:30 p.m. – Wallet found, placed in property.

1:53 p.m. – Fraudulent use of credit card reported in 42400 block North River Drive. Total loss reported was $15,000. Investigation continuing.

2:36 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeffrey Jerome Kessinger, 52, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of harassment.

4:34 p.m. – Caller reported theft of unknown value, 1501 Main, Speedee Mart.

4:38 p.m. – Crystal Schatz, 36, turned herself in on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main.

4:39 p.m. – David Samson, 59, turned himself in on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main.

5:01 p.m. – Lori Chambers arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving following single-vehicle accident at intersection of Highway 20 and Santiam Terrace Road. Cited and released.

6:21 p.m. – A van that was parked for sale at the 200 block of Main is missing. Report taken.

6:38 p.m. – Driver of a green Dodge truck is trying to intimidate BLM protesters, 621 Main, Thriftway. Incident occurred on private property and not observed.

7:24 p.m. – Davy Anthony Phillips, 47, cited and released in the field on Linn County citation for failure to appear on an original charge of first-degree forgery, 1900 block of Willow.

7:58 p.m. – Caller reported an intoxicated male at 1501 Main, Speedee Mart, not understanding the Caller will not sell him more alcohol and would like him to move along. Male moved along.

8:09 p.m. – Stolen white van located unoccupied in Albany. Owner advised.

8:53 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping in 48600 block Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

8:56 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping at milepost 23½ on Quartzville Road. No steel fire ring. Advised them to move on.

9:02 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping on private timber property in 51100 block Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

9:05 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping without steel fire ring in 51100 block Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

11:04 p.m. – Caller reported people inside house of neighbor who just moved out, 3100 block of Main. Officer responded, cited and released Carson Albert Strasser, 30, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft.

August 1

12:40 a.m. – Albany Police cited Parker Del Mowdy, 24, and cited Kaitlyn Carol Tibbs, 23, on Sweet Home warrants for animal abandonment.

6:23 a.m. – Caller reported finding syringe cap on 3000 block of Main. Officer responded, unable to locate syringe, cap disposed of.

8:34 a.m. – Caller reported her vehicle was taken during the night, 1642 Elm. Officer responded, report taken for unauthorized use of a vehicle and first-degree burglary, vehicle worth $20,000. Vehicle bearing license plate 013GCV.

3:11 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle driving into oncoming traffic and swerving, nearly hitting several vehicles. Officer responded, Steven Doyle Gay, 52, arrested for DUII and reckless driving. Gay also cited for driving uninsured and failure to maintain the lane. Booked, cited and released.

4:06 p.m. – Caller reported injured at a motor vehicle crash, 60th and Highway 20. Officer responded, both operators transported by medics. Roadway clear, investigation ongoing.

5:52 p.m. – Deputy moved five illegal camps in area of CTC, BLM and Campbell Global land, 44600 block Quartzville Road.

7:20 p.m. – Caller reported his ex stole some of his property, 2500 block of Birch. Officer responded, report taken for third-degree theft. Investigation ongoing.

7:21 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping at milepost 15 on Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

7:22 p.m. – Deputy contacted two vehicles full of people at Weyerhaeuser rock pit in 48100 block Quartzville Road. The pit is split by Weyerhaeuser and BLM. Advised occupants of land ownership and rules. They packed up and left.

7:26 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping at milepost 15.5 on Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

7:34 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping at milepost 22 on Quartzville Road. Advised them to move on.

7:36 p.m. – Deputy contacted group illegally camping beyond 14-day limit in 49400 block Quartzville Road. Advised them to clean up and vacate site.

8:36 p.m. – Shannan Dona Manasco, 60, cited for driving while suspended, 13th and Main.

9:52 p.m. – Caller reports a male was screaming at a female in Speedee Mart, 1501 Main. Female was behind counter with an employee hiding from the male. Officer responded, contacted parties involved. Male was not cooperative but agreed to leave the area. Female will remain at the store with an employee.

10:32 p.m. – Caller reported intoxicated male drove through another person’s campsite, 51000 block Highway 20. Male later crashed his car and disappeared. Investigation continuing.

11:30 p.m. – Deputy came upon crash in 49800 block Highway 20. Vehicle had left scene but front bumper and license plate were left behind. Damage done to guardrail. Information passed on to Oregon State Police.

August 2

12:06 a.m. – Callers reported a male is unconscious in the McDonald’s parking lot, 2000 Main. Officer responded, contacted male who was intoxicated and not able to remember how to get in contact with friends or family to give him a ride. Male plans on walking to his residence west of Sweet Home.

7:49 a.m. – Caller reported a hole cut in the fence at the 18th Ave bus garage. Officer responded, report taken for criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. All buildings and vehicles secure, no items appear to be missing, damage to fence approximately $50.

8:28 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor threatened to kill his family and his dog, 1200 block of Nandina. Officer responded, report taken for menacing. Female had threatened to stab Caller with scissors, she refused to come to the door. Caller and family advised on how to obtain a stalking order, officer will attempt to contact suspect at a later time.

9:43 a.m. – Catherine Marie Green, 51, cited and released for menacing, Sweet Home Police Department.

11:03 a.m. – Caller reported firearm lost in area of Upper Calapooia and Nichol drives. Report taken.

12:04 p.m. – Marion County Sheriff’s Department arrested Aaron Matthew Smith, 33, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree theft.

1:48 p.m. – Caller reported a male smoking meth in public, old movie store. Officer responded, contacted male who was smoking a cigarette on arrival, no evidence to support Caller’s claims. Male did not appear under the influence of drug described and he denied the reported activity. Will be moving along shortly.

2:34 p.m. – Corvallis Police arrested Donna Ashley Lyons, 27, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft.

3:01 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles threw a firework that exploded at her, Sweet Home High School. Officer responded, contacted juveniles who denied the reported activity and stated it was an unknown third individual, officer unable to locate any signs of fireworks or damage, nor the alleged third party.

3:34 p.m. – Deputy contacted multiple illegal campers trespassing on Campbell Global property near milepost 24 on Quartzville Road. Advised them of rules, warned them for trespassing. They packed up and moved to public land.

5:21 p.m. – Caller reported theft of lawn mower in 40900 block Highway 228. Valued at $300.

6:15 p.m. – Caller reported Dodge van broken into sometime between 2 and 6:30 p.m. in 40800 block McDowell Creek Drive. Passenger-side window broken out and Caller’s purse was stolen, including her wallet, debit and credit cards, and $80 in cash. Caller was to cancel cards.

6:48 p.m. – Caller reported someone just struck his neighbor in the face, 2200 block of Main. Officer responded, contacted the victim who doesn’t wish to press charges, but wants the man trespassed from his residence. Officer contacted the male and advised him of the trespass.

7:13 p.m. – Lebanon Police served a Sweet Home warrant to Tyson Derek Boren, 37, for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft.

7:26 p.m. – Caller reported a large knife lying in the road, 18th and Main. Officer responded, located a paper bag and a piece of rebar in the roadway. Both disposed of.

11:23 p.m. – Joseph Gene Salley, 48, cited for driving while suspended, 1500 block of Main. Cited and released on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on an original charge of driving while suspended.
