Jan. 4

12:15 a.m. – Philomath police served a Sweet Home warrant to Sammy Ramond Hughes, 20, for failure to appear on original charges of theft and criminal trespassing.

12:42 a.m. – Single-vehicle crash reported in 26000 block of Brush Creek Road/Highway 228. Driver/occupants unknown, as no one was with vehicle when deputy arrived. Montana license plate. No evidence of injuries.

1:23 a.m. – Philomath police served a Sweet Home warrant to Breanna Marie Johnston, 27, for failure to comply on an original charge of theft.

1:23 a.m. – Albany Police served a Sweet Home warrant to Elisha Marie Adams, 39, for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.

2:08 a.m. – Caller reported his neighbor texted him and said he was being too loud, but he’s not currently home, 700 block of Elm. Officer responded, checked the exterior of the residence, everything is secure. Unable to locate any signs of forced entry. Caller advised.

2:32 a.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on a male who appeared lost, 29th and Juniper. Officer responded, male given a ride to his residence.

3:51 a.m. – Caller reported his neighbor poisoned his dog, 1200 block of 49th. Officer responded, info noted, will attempt to contact the neighbor at a later time.

7:24 a.m. – Caller reported a male at location is deceased, 1800 block of Kalmia. Officer responded, report taken.

7:55 a.m. – Caller reported her husband used meth before leaving in vehicle, unknown direction of travel, 4600 block of Main. Officer advised, will be on lookout.

2:52 p.m. – Caller reported someone is using her information for quicken loans, 1800 block of Fir. Officer contacted by phone, info noted. Caller advised of options to safeguard her identity.

3:09 p.m. – A citizen reported finding a rifle and turned it in to Sheriff’s Office as found property, 29000 block Liberty Road. Report taken.

4:10 p.m. – Caller reported 7-Eleven is closed with a handwritten note and it appears suspicious, 2000 block of Main. Officer responded, store appears to be closed. Nothing appears to be out of place.

10:36 p.m. – Kevin Harold Flowers cited for driving while suspended and failure to carry proof of insurance, 2000 block of Main.

Jan. 5

7:32 a.m. – Caller reported someone came on their property, 39700 block of Highway 228, opened their mailbox. Deputy was unable to locate individual.

11:48 a.m. – Caller reported his grandson is receiving inappropriate photos, 300 block of Holley. Officer advised caller to block the phone number and call if there are any other issues.

4:44 p.m. – Caller requested a welfare check on an elderly tenant who is not taking care of himself, 5300 block of Main. Officer responded, male was transported voluntarily by medics due to unsafe living conditions.

5:24 p.m. – Callers reported a hit and run on Main and Pleasant Valley, suspect in a silver vehicle side-wiped the victim’s car then left westbound. Officer responded, report taken.

10:33 p.m. – Caller reported a male walking with a flashlight, shining it at houses and businesses, 12th and Tamarack. Officer responded, checked the area, unable to locate.

Jan. 6

12:51 a.m. – Caller reported male climbed on the roof of a building, Main and 12th. Officer responded, Leola Nulene Ellingsen, 31, cited and released for criminal trespass and on a Linn County warrant for a parole violation.

11:28 a.m. – Caller reported a dispute between sisters – one kicked the other out, and she’s sitting on the front porch, 300 block of Holley. Officer responded, sisters separated, one given courtesy transport to another location.

1:56 p.m. – Caller reported Amazon called him to say his account was flagged, 3500 block of Juniper. Officer responded, info noted, caller was advised it was a scam.

3:13 p.m. – Caller reported someone attempted to break into his shed, 4200 block of Main. Officer responded, report taken for criminal mischief, approximate damage $10, caller requested extra patrols.

3:35 p.m. – Caller reported a male was cutting up a telephone pole with a knife. Officer responded, unable to locate any damage to nearby poles, contacted male who had a sheath but no sharp objects on his person.

4:28 p.m. – Caller reported she asked multiple people to put on masks and they started yelling at her, 4824 Main, Hilltop Market. Officer contacted establishment owner and advised her of current regulations. Caller trespassed at owner’s request.

4:56 p.m. – Caller just heard a suppressed gunshot in his neighbor’s house, 2200 block of Main. Officer responded, contacted neighbor in question who denied the reported activity.

8:03 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor is playing a loud musical instrument. Officer responded, checked area, unable to locate any loud noises.

9:36 p.m. – Caller reported her son called her and said his aunt was being assaulted. Officer responded, John James Torkelson, 55, arrested for assault, domestic violence and harassment.

11:10 p.m. – Deputy found male and female at The Point. They were informed they were not allowed to be in the area after dark and asked to move on when a licensed driver could come and remove the vehicle. 6400 block Highway 20.

Jan. 7

5:26 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking with a rifle, 800 block of 8th. Officer responded, contacted male who is walking with rifle stock.

9:50 a.m. – Caller reported aggressive dogs in area, 600 block of 4th. Officer responded, dogs placed inside and secured by owner, male will work to fix hole in fence. Robert Warrant Southwick, 30, cited for dog as public nuisance.

10:23 a.m. – Caller reported problems with trespassers over last few days, 1100 block of 4th. Officer responded, neighbor trespassed at caller request.

10:58 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking down the sidewalk with a rifle over his shoulder, 1600 block of Long. Officer responded, male had no weapons and was carrying a rifle stock, advised of complaint

11:08 a.m. – Officer cited Joseph Lee Shores, 48, on a Linn County warrant for a parole violation, a Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation, and a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal trespass, 1300 block of Long. Cited and released on all warrants.

12:15 p.m. – Caller reported her friend sold her vehicle without her permission, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded, contacted caller by phone, will come to police department to sign it as stolen.

3:58 p.m. – Caller reported two males walking on the mill property, 18th. Officer responded, contacted and advised males to avoid property.

4:03 p.m. – Caller reported female is sitting in roadway, 5400 block of Quince. Officer responded, female will be moving to bus stop.

4:50 p.m. – Caller reported trash can taken from location, 1800 block of 12th. Officer responded, contacted caller by phone, caller didn’t have any identifiable info about the trash can.

7:00 p.m. – Caller reported a female is attempting to get into his house, 5400 block of Quince. Officer responded, female given courtesy transport to local transient camp.

8:59 p.m. – Caller reported someone just jumped out of their vehicle and attacked her in the Thriftway parking lot, 621 Main. Officer responded, reports taken for harassment from both parties. Case forwarded to city attorney for review.

9:23 p.m. – Lane County Sheriff’s Office served a Sweet Home warrant to Benjamin Reuben Pannier, 37, for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

9:31 p.m. – Caller reported a male and female were trespassing on someone’s property, then the male started shooting at the female, 1000 block of River Drive. Male left in vehicle and possibly headed towards Sweet Home, female left on foot. Officer assisted until deputies arrived.

11:09 p.m. – Ricky Montell James, 48, cited for driving while suspended, milepost 24 on Highway 20.

Jan. 8

10:35 a.m. – Caller reported finding a credit card at location, 200 block of Main. Officer responded, item returned to owner, Angelica Marie Young, 38, cited and released on a Sweet Home warrant for theft.

10:39 a.m. – Caller reported a male took building materials from 1000 block of 14th, then left in a black pickup. Officer responded, checked area, unable to locate.

11:52 a.m. – Caller reported male pushing on gates trying to gain access to people’s yards, males pushed through neighbor’s gate and is possibly in their yard, 600 block of Mountain View. Officer responded, contacted male, advised to stay off others’ property.

12:12 p.m. – Deputy responded to report that stolen trailer had been recovered. Owner took possession of trailer. Further details unavailable in Sheriff’s log. 24200 West Brush Creek Road.

2:46 p.m. – Caller reported a small child left in vehicle alone except for a dog, 1540 Main, Safeway. Officer contacted and counselled parents and 6-year-old.

4:11 p.m. – Caller reported a male subject going through trash, which he observed from a drone, 2200 block of Tamarack. Officer unable to locate any indication of theft.

8:39 p.m. – Caller reported his roommate tried to stab him, missed him and stabbed the couch, then punched the caller in the face, 4100 block of Osage. Gary Alan Campbell, 47, arrested for domestic violence- menacing. Booked and lodged in Linn County Jail.

9:52 p.m. – Caller reported boyfriend strangled her, 3300 block of Juniper. Jeremy Thomas Chaney, 43, arrested for domestic violence- strangulation. Booked and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Jan. 9

7:58 a.m. – Dog found on Highway 20 east of Sweet Home taken to Linn County Animal Control. Further details unavailable in Sheriff’s log.

12:11 p.m. – One caller reported a male kicked her dog, another caller reported a female hit him with a dog leash, 800 block of Main. Officer responded, caller contacted dispatch and stated they no longer wanted contact.

1:33 p.m. – Caller reported male at location is yelling at everyone, 1500 block of 47th. Officer responded, mostly verbal, parties have separated.

3:16 p.m. – Caller reported suspicious male in her yard, last seen walking down 12th, would like him trespassed, 1300 block of Grape. Officer responded, located male and trespassed him.

3:47 p.m. – Officer flagged down by juveniles reporting rocks thrown at them by another juvenile, 900 block of 27th. Officer contacted all juveniles and their parents, they agreed to remain separated.

5:11 p.m. – Caller reported daughter attacked her brother and father, 3100 block of Long. Officer responded, non-mandatory arrest, report to be forwarded to juvenile department for review of harassment charges.

9:19 p.m. – Adam Garrette Johnson, 35, arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, 1540 Main, Safeway. Booked, cited and released.

Jan. 10

12:58 a.m. – Curtis Ray Daniel, 46, arrested for criminal trespass, 2200 block of Tamarack. Cited and released, building resecured.

12:05 p.m. – Caller reported two bullet holes in her window which occurred in the past two weeks, 1700 block of 12th. Officer responded, damage looks to be caused by air powered toy, caller’s husband will handle civilly.

5:18 p.m. – Caller reported a male destroyed her property, 4600 block of Mahogany. Officer responded, report taken for criminal mischief and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, loss valued at $550.

11:38 p.m. – Stacy Manuel Teixeira, 55, arrested on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear. Cited and released.

11:52 p.m. – Two callers reported a white vehicle unable to maintain the lane and almost going into a ditch, 1000 block of Main Officer responded, Egbert Redmond Smoyer, 60, arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving. Booked, cited and released.
