2:38 a.m. – Hunter Areil Ringheimer, 23, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of heroin, Lebanon warrants for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of minor in possession of alcohol and failure to appear on original charge of minor in possession of alcohol, Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of minor in possession of alcohol and new charges of possession of heroin and distribution of heroin, behind Downtown Lounge, 1234 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported two males siphoning fuel from a vehicle. Officer contacted a male who said he had permission to siphon fuel.

5:22 p.m. – Nathan Daniel Brown, 41, arrested for first-degree animal neglect, 4610 Main St. Cited and released. A caller had reported neighbors threatening the caller and throwing things at his house because he put his dead bird on the porch.

11:59 a.m. – Caller reported receiving a phone call from a person claiming to have kidnapped his daughter and wanting to know how much he would pay in ransom, 1800 block of Ames Creek. Information noted. Caller was aware it was a scam. He had spoken with his daughters, who were fine.

2:24 a.m. – Caller reported six horses in the road about a half mile from Fairview Church on McDowell Creek Road. The owner was located within minutes, and deputies helped re-secure the horses.
2:41 p.m. – Caller reported that someone is continually dumping household garbage in the trash at Sankey Park, 877 14th Ave. Officer contacted the owner of the garbage and warned the owner for theft of services.
4:44 p.m. – Michael John Hoffman, 44, cited on a Sweet Home warrant for second-degree criminal mischief, Linn County Jail.
5:54 p.m. – Caller reported a cougar in his backyard, 400 block of Maple. Officer unable to locate. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife notified.

9:50 a.m. – Juvenile female referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of alcohol, 1100 block of Fourth. Caller had reported finding a cup of alcohol in her daughter’s room.

11:35 a.m. – Caller reported two large RVs parked on the street for a long period of time and plugged into electricity, 900 block of Elm. Officer posted a vehicle for tow and advised the registered owner.
11:55 a.m. – Caller reported a hit and run the previous day, 3400 block of Juniper. Report taken.

5:20 a.m. – Caller requested that a male sleeping in the lobby be trespassed, 1303 Long St., Sweet Home Post Office. Officer trespassed the male, who moved on.
Jan. 6
11:17 a.m. – Caller from Linn County Parks Department reported 24-by-24 inch solar panels were stolen from a campground water well, Trout Creek Campground. Value is $500. Report taken.
5:30 p.m. – Nicholas Gaskey, 32, arrested for violation of a restraining order. A caller had said a man and woman were verbally fighting in a driveway, 30000 block of Fairview.
Jan. 5
10:24 a.m. – Caller contacted the Lebanon substation to report someone hit her mailbox, and a license plate was left behind by the person who hit it, 41200 block of McDowell Creek. Report taken.
12:46 p.m. – A caller said his mailbox was damaged by a vehicle hitting it, 41300 block of McDowell Creek. This is related to the incident at 10:24 a.m. Report taken.
Jan. 4
8:05 a.m. – Caller said a chestnut-colored horse was running around for approximately three days, 24800 block Springer Road. The caller did not know who the horse’s owner was. Deputies checked the area but were unable to find the horse. They left a card at a potential owner’s home but were unable to confirm if the horse belonged there.
2:28 p.m. – A 2004 Nissan Xterra was stolen within the last couple of days, 47400 block Santiam Highway. She had not gone out for the last three days because she had surgery. The vehicle was recovered the next day in Sweet Home.
3:53 p.m. – Jacob Manuel, 40, arrested for menacing, harassment and possession of meth. Court records show an additional charge of unlawful use of a weapon. A caller had reported a male physically assaulted a female then pulled a knife and threatened to kill her whole family, 27100 block of Rowell Hill.
9:38 p.m. – Kim Hartsock, 62, arrested for menacing. Court documents show an additional charge of unlawful use of a weapon. A caller had said he was hit in the head with a machete but declined medics, 28800 block of Weatherly.
10:45 p.m. – Caller said a white Ford Explorer with a light bar just hit his trash cans and took off heading toward Lebanon on Highway 20, 30400 block of Fairview. A deputy obtained the license plate and is looking for a suspect. Report taken.
