Jan. 3

9:06 a.m. – Officer found a bicycle, old mill property off Green River. Office seized the bike as found property.

10:53 a.m. – Lester Lee Hendrix Jr., 40, cited and released in field for misdemeanor driving while suspended, 900 block of Poplar.

12:01 p.m. – Tmothy Joseph Cantrell, 40, arrested on a state warrant for parole violation, Lebanon warrant for probation violation on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended and Albany warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspend, 3137 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

12:12 p.m. – Jeffrey Brian Cooley, 57, arrested on Salem warrant for failure to appear on an arraignment for failure to carry and present a license, 444 Maple Lane. Cited and released.

Jan. 2

2:03 a.m. – Steven Kenneth Stitt, 31, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1025 Long St. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported two males going through the trash. She asked them to leave, and they walked to the back of the location.

9:39 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into a company vehicle parked at her residence, 1200 block of 46th. Report taken.

11:32 a.m. – Caller found a bong among donations, 1762 Main St., Goodwill drop-off location. Officer seized the bong for destruction.

1:37 p.m. – Two callers reported mail boxes open and mail gone, 4500 block of Long. Another caller reported that a letter carrier found some ad circulars in a ditch nearby.

4:45 p.m. – Nicholas S. Warren, 36, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County. Cited and released.

6:37 p.m. – Jared Michael Elkins, 21, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree criminal mischief, Corvallis. Cited and released.

Jan. 1

1:17 a.m. – Susan Ann Rue, 43, arrested for driving under the influence, HOPE Center. Cited and released.

2:08 a.m. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office served a Sweet Home warrant on Brandon Scott Thomas, 28, for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct.

11:12 a.m. – Forest Lee Steinborn, 23, taken into protective custody and held for detox, 600 block of 17th. Callers had reported a male yelling and kicking things.

11:20 a.m. – Steven Scott Sims, 33, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon. Cited and released.

11:22 a.m. – James David Stedman, 59, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, Independence. Cited and released.

12 p.m. – Louis Anthony Carreiro, 51, turned in himself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

1:01 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole her TANF card and took all of the money from it, 5300 block of Poplar. Report taken. Loss valued at $385.75.

1:52 p.m. – Caller reported a female came into her residence, beat her and left, 1400 block of 60th. Report taken for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. Investigation continuing.

2:10 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles tearing limbs from trees and boards off of Dahlenburg Bridge, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Officer contacted four juveniles, who were climbing trees and had broken some branches as they were climbing. The bridge did not appear damaged. The officer counseled them and send them on their way.

2:34 p.m. – Caller reported items stolen from her backyard, 3000 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $24.

3:57 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of sinkers, 610 Main St., Dan Dee Sales. Report taken. Loss valued at $1.

8:21 p.m. – James Leroy Salvador, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon. Cited and released.

Dec. 31

8:13 a.m. – Christine Lorraine Reigstad, 48, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, Linn County. Cited and released.

8:36 a.m. – Caller reported a wallet stolen from a vehicle and credit cards used at Wal-Mart in Lebanon. Report taken.

10:26 a.m. – Caller reported a notebook stolen from his residence, 1000 block of 14th. Report taken. Loss valued at $450.

8:28 p.m. – Kody Michael Elmer, 21, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Linn County. Cited and released.

9 p.m. – Caller reported that a male subject stole her grandmother’s phone, 1000 block of Poplar. Report taken. Loss valued at $779.

9:06 p.m. – Caller turned in drug paraphernalia found when he moved into a new residence, 3200 block of Main. Item seized for destruction.

Dec. 30

1 a.m. – Melissa Melene Nelson, 45, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of probation violation and providing false information to a police officer and cited for driving while suspended, 12th and Nandina. Cited and released.

5:15 a.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping in the lobby of the Sweet Home Post Office, 1303 Long St., Officer contacted a female who was trying to stay warm and get some sleep. She said she would move on.

6:37 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a jacket and two cans of chew, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Report taken. Loss valued at $90.

9:20 a.m. – Kevin Wayne Johnston, 23, turned in himself on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass; Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of endangering the welfare of a minor; and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charges of probation violation and driving while suspended, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

10:50 a.m. – Caller reported ex-tenants took a washer and dryer when they moved out, 2400 block of Long. Report taken. Loss valued at $600.

1:56 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked on top of a water meter, 1100 block of Redwood. Referred to code enforcement.

4:36 p.m. – Caller reported a U-Haul truck parked on the street for more than five days and blocking the bike lane, 2400 block of Long. Posted for removal on Jan. 5.

6:46 p.m. – Caller reported that a male attempted to steal some items, 610 Main St., Dan Dee Sales. Officer responded, and caller requested information be documented and that police attempt to locate the individual to be trespassed.

7:59 p.m. – Caller reported a car blocking traffic and parked too closely to a stop sign, Long and 27th. Officer contacted the owner, who was advised and would be moving the vehicle.

10 p.m. – Caller reported a female sleeping in front of the Sweet Home Post Office, 1303 Long St. Officer contacted the female, who advised that she is homeless and that she is aware of her options.

10:09 p.m. – George Wilhelm Drexler, 69, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation, 1301 Main St. Cited and released.

Dec. 29

9:34 a.m. – Caller said he is a general contractor and working on a vacant house, 40100 block of Hwy 228. He and his crew were last at the location the day before Christmas. About $10,000 in power and hand tools were stolen.

9:49 a.m. – Caller reported vehicles and fence boards in a front yard, 1100 block of First. Referred to code enforcement.

10:11 a.m. – Caller said someone painted what looks similar to a black swastika on the north end of the bridge, 41000 block of Upper Calapooia Dr. He thinks it happened after Christmas.

11:11 a.m. – Caller reported mattresses stacked against a shed, 1800 block of 18th. Referred to code enforcement.

12:05 p.m. – Caller reported that two dogs and a cat were left at a residence and had been there for approximately two months, 2600 block of Long. Officer contacted the owner, who lives at a different location but come back once daily to feed the animals. The owner was advised to let the dog out of the house and either bring it to the new home or find it a new owner.

1:37 p.m. – Erika Kimberly Sieg, 27, cited for improper display of stickers, Money Man parking lot.

3:16 p.m. – Kyle Andrew Fry, 30, arrested on Saline County, Kan., warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Transported to Linn County Jail.

7:48 p.m. – Tabitha Lynn Rhodes, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Oregon State Police. Cited and released.

9:49 p.m. – Kayla Leann Trefethen, 26, cited for driving uninsured and driving while suspended, 2000 Main St.

Dec. 28

2:55 a.m. – Joey Eugene Tackitt, 34, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon. Cited and released.

9:10 a.m. – Caller reported pieces of mail on a burn pile, Public Works near the Pleasant Valley Boat Ramp. The mail was from an address outside the city limits. A Linn County deputy seized the mail due to recent mail thefts. About 29 pieces of mail were found, and the deputy planned to follow up with the owners.

10:02 a.m. – A vehicle was side swiped, 64900 block of Santiam Hwy. Report taken.

10:10 a.m. – Jody Lawrence Maruffo, 37, arrested for strangulation and harassment, both domestic violence charges, 631 Ninth Ave. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported a male choking her and holding her down.

10:52 a.m. – Caller reported piles of garbage, 900 block of 27th. Referred to code enforcement.

2:03 p.m. – Richard Kenneth Robertson, 60, turned in himself on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

3:21 p.m. – Caller reported a person living in a trailer, 2200 block of Larch. Referred to code enforcement.

6:55 p.m. – Caller reported her vehicle was hit in front of McDonald’s, 2000 Main St. Officer responded. Someone backed into the vehicle in the parking lot. Information exchanged.

6:59 p.m. – Caller reported that her granddaughter said she saw a man with a gun, 800 block of 12th. Officer contacted a juvenile with an airsoft gun and advised the juvenile of the city ordinance prohibiting them from being fired.

7 p.m. – Zachariah Lee Davis, 26, cited for careless driving, Ninth and Poplar. Callers had reported a vehicle hitting a curb after sliding around a corner, erratically spinning tiers around corners and speeding.

9:25 p.m. – Caller reported a counterfeit $20 bill, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer responded and seized the item.

Dec. 27

2:14 p.m. – Douglas County served a Sweet Home warrant on Katie Larissa Newman, 27, for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft.

4:48 p.m. – Caller reported a female throwing eggs at his vehicle, 900 block of 12th. No damage to vehicle. Caller did not want to pursue charges. Officers assisted neighbors in reaching an agreement, and the female was verbally warned for disorderly conduct.

9:04 p.m. – Mitch Allen Fowler, 24, arrested on state warrant for parole violation and Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on two counts of third-degree theft, 1347 Nandina St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

9:58 a.m. – Isreal Mendoza, 29, arrested for fourth-degree assault, interfering with making a report, third-degree criminal mischief and harassment. Caller had reported that another male that had been staying with him just punched him out. This was the same caller who reported on Dec. 26 that a male was taking his pants. It also was the same suspect. At that time, it was verbal only so no action was taken. The victim is a 61-year-old male.

9:59 p.m. – Jason Allen Sabedra, 31, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on two counts of third-degree theft, Lebanon. Cited and released.

Dec. 26

6:11 a.m. – Caller said a guy was taking his pants. The suspect got on the phone and said he was helping the original caller. No additional report was taken.

10:05 a.m. – A caller reported catching someone trying to steal the caller’s mail, 27700 block of Riggs Hill Rd. . The male driver was white, had facial hair and a shaved head. No mail was found to be missing at the time. It is unknown if this is related to the recent mail thefts.

3:36 p.m. – Caller reported possible theft of a package, 29200 block of Berlin Rd. It was to have been delivered several days before Christmas.

4:07 p.m. – Caller reported theft of mail. A cashier’s check was taken. Report taken.

Dec. 25

9:55 a.m. – Caller found mail by the caller’s mailbox, 26600 block of Rowell Hill Rd., that does not belong to the caller.

11:46 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of items from the garage, 27100 block of Rowell Hill Rd. A compressor, nail guns, chain saw and rifle were taken.

Dec. 24

11:49 p.m. – Caller said a neighbor took his two children the caller’s children somewhere up Highway 20 to “see the snow and go sledding.” Deputies searched and found the vehicle had gone over an embankment. They were down about 20 feet. Deputies assisted them out of the vehicle and they were fine.

Dec. 23

3:22 p.m. – A caller from the ranger station said he got a call from someone who was camping with two other people up the 2032. They were about two miles off Highway 20 and were stuck behind a tree that had blown down on the road. A deputy responded and removed the tree.
