10:48 a.m. – Caller reported that her purse was taken from her car during the night, 4800 block of Highway 20. Report taken. Loss valued at $40.
10:57 a.m. – Caller reported her husband came into her yard in violation of a no-trespass order, 4000 block of Clark Mill. Report taken.
11:20 a.m. – Caller reported two subjects had been camping on the corner for the past week, 1500 block of Main. Officer contacted subjects and advised them to move along.
11:21 a.m. – Caller reported vehicles have been parked on the street for an extended period, 10th and Dogwood. Three vehicles posted for removal.
2:08 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of medication, 1200 block of 44th. Report taken.
4:29 p.m. – Caller reported that a pit bull attacked his dog while they were walking, 2200 block of Main. Officer contacted the residence where the dog was. The resident said the owner of the dog was just visiting and had already left with the dog.
5:51 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog had been barking for almost an hour, 2900 block of Jefferson. Officer located the barking dog. There were several dogs inside the residence also. No one was at the residence. Officer planned to follow up when someone is home.
7:52 p.m. – Caller reported an emaciated dog was walking around in circles in front of his house, 1100 block of 27th. Officer unable to locate dog.
8:15 p.m. – Christopher Thomas Meredith, 29, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Tamarack and 18th. Transported to Linn County Jail.
8:35 p.m. – Donald Wayne Ames Jr., 27, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and third-degree escape, 1200 12th Ave., Chewy’s. Cited and released.
11:06 p.m. – Gerlinde Spring Lynch, 37, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Lebanon. Cited and released.
11:48 p.m. – Edwin Todd Hill, 51, arrested for failure to appear on original charge of hit and run, Albany. Cited and released.

7:46 a.m. – Shelli Lynn Starr, 47, cited and released on Lebanon warrant for probation violation and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of driving while suspended, 541 Surrey Lane.
10:51 a.m. – Caller reported an RV had been plugged into a house, and people had been living in it for three weeks, 1800 block of 12th. Referred to code enforcement.
10:35 a.m. – Caller reported squatters camping on a newly poured foundation, 2000 block of 18th. Officer contacted a male, who said his sister owned the property and he was watching it for her. He was advised of the camping ordinance, and he said he would be gone in a week.
11:28 a.m. – Caller turned in a wallet found in the 1200 block of 42nd. Wallet placed in found property.
12:19 p.m. – Caller reported a person sleeping on the sidewalk in front of Sweet Home Emergency Ministries, 1023 Long St. Officer checked on the female, who was doing fine.
2:38 p.m. – Michael Dashawn Ferebee, 37, arrested on Baker County warrant for parole violation, 4610 Main St., Fir Villa. Transported to Linn County Jail.
3:19 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s chickens are causing a strong smell, 1300 block of First. Referred to code enforcement.
3:20 p.m. – Caller reported an accumulation of trash in a side yard, 1300 block of Elm. Referred to code enforcement.
3:59 p.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog running loose, Sankey Park. Officer unable to locate.
10:24 p.m. – Austin Robert Bruijn, 20, cited for failure to register vehicle and failure to carry proof of insurance, 1500 block of Main.
11:45 p.m. – Caller reported that a male broke into a shed and was going to sleep, 1200 block of Nandina. The caller ran the male off, but he left some of his clothing behind. Officer responded. The male was setting up a camp in the shed, but there was no evidence of forced entry. The owner requested the male be trespassed when located.

3:08 a.m. – Austin Alton Wayne Jones, 20, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charges of second-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief (owed five days in jail), Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree criminal mischief and Lebanon warrant for third-degree theft, Pleasant Valley Boat Ramp. Transported to Linn County Jail.
7:22 a.m. – Caller reported a motor home parked on the street for about three days, 1900 block of Long. Vehicle posted for removal.
10:21 a.m. – Kelly Bennett Taylor-Harp, 54, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of first-degree theft and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of second-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.
11:49 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his vehicle and stole tools and medication, 1100 block of 28th. Report taken. Loss valued at $145.
1:32 p.m. – Caller reported a shipping container is housing pigeons, 4200 block of Main. Referred to code enforcement.
2:02 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor beat up a male with a stick, 4600 block of Main. One subject left prior to officer arrival. The other male was transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital by medics. Report taken for second-degree disorderly conduct.
2:21 p.m. – Caller reported a subject with a mask walking through the store and putting items in his pockets, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer contacted the male, who had purchased the items he had. A customer had been concerned about a male wearing a mask in the store.
2:33 p.m. – Brandon John Kirby, 24, arrested on Multnomah County warrant for probation violation on original charge of fourth-degree assault, 18th and Main. Transported to Linn County Jail.
2:56 p.m. – Caller reported a dog chained up in the back yard, 400 block of Fifth. The caller was concerned that the dog’s ribs and spine were showing. Officer contacted the owner, who said the dog was under veterinary care for a dietary issue.
5:20 p.m. – Clinton Jack Williams, 28, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief and Linn County warrant for interfering with making a report and second-degree criminal mischief, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

2:35 a.m. – Caller reported that a male stole a beer, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Report taken. Loss valued at $2.17.
10:37 a.m. – Caller reported that someone put a hole in the back of a building, 1200 Long St. Report taken. Damage estimated at $100 to $500.
11:15 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of two bicycles during the night, 400 block of Maple. Report taken. Loss valued at $50.
12:31 p.m. – Caller reported that he was assaulted at Sankey Park. Report taken.
1:24 p.m. – Caller reported a theft that occurred on Jan. 18, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. Report taken. Loss valued at $72.96.
2:11 p.m. – Earl Spalding, 35, arrested for driving under the influence, unauthorized use of a vehicle and misdemeanor driving while suspended, 39900 block McDowell Creek. Transported to Linn County Jail. A caller had reported that a man stole his truck. He said the man didn’t have a license, and knew he wasn’t supposed to use the truck.
2:43 p.m. – Caller reported four bikes were left in the 1200 block of Nandina. Bicycles placed in found property.
2:58 p.m. – Jamison Page Weist, 52, cited for careless driving, 1900 block of Long.
4:09 p.m. – Clyde Barrow, 27, cited for failure to use seatbelt, 900 block of 14th.
7:38 p.m. – Caller reported two of her vehicles and two of her neigbors’ cars were keyed, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Report taken. Damage estimated at $150.
8:51 p.m. – Caller reported a male holding a sign at the west parking lot entrance, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Caller said that several customers have reported nearly hitting him. Officer contacted the male, who was on the sidewalk and not in the way of vehicles. He told them he is just down on his luck and trying to get help.
Jan. 23
12:07 a.m. – A dog bite victim was treated at the hospital after a friend’s dog bit the victim’s thumb completely off. No citations issued.
8:02 a.m. – Lester Hendrix, 41, charged with unlawful transportation of forest product and an outstanding felony warrant on original charges of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor driving while suspended. Transported to Linn County Jail. A Cascade Timber Consulting employee had reported being in pursuit of a green Ford pickup truck that stole firewood off CTC property.
The employee did not catch up with the person but Linn County sheriff’s deputies did.
8:02 a.m. – Caller reported a fight at Sweet Home High School, 1641 Long St., that resulted in damage to a staff member’s vehicle. Juvenile referred for second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief.
8:46 a.m. – Police recovered a Honda Civic reported stolen in Marion County.
9:50 a.m. – Benjamin H. Contreras, 43, cited for no license and driving uninsured, 13th and Kalmia.
10:05 a.m. – Caller reported a large fuel tank parked in the street for a prolonged period, 1200 block of 40th. Referred to code enforcement.
10:27 a.m. – Caller reported that the door of a foreclosed residence was kicked in, 28100 block Ridgeway. Report taken.
11:44 a.m. – Caller found a terrier, 12th and Elm. Placed in kennel.
12:28 p.m. – Caller reported a returned check for $172.41, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. Report taken.
12:29 p.m. – Ervin Larry Smith, 63, arrested for felon in possession of firearm, possession of meth and warrant for parole violation, 541 Surrey Lane. Transported to Linn County Jail.
12:49 p.m. – Keith Wayne Wolfe, 41, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree disorderly conduct, Newport. Cited and released.
2:44 p.m. – Caller said that while he was cutting down a tree, part of it fell onto his neighbor’s property, 40300 block Holley Heights Loop. Deputies advised him to get permission from his neighbor to retrieve the tree branch.
9:36 p.m. – Scott Kevin Heinz, 29, cited for driving while suspended, Long and Mountain View.

2:31 p.m. – Jeremy Michael Hicks, 36, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft and Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on original charge of theft and new charges of possession of meth and third-degree escape, 1234 Main St., Downtown Lounge. Transported to Linn County Jail.
5:24 p.m. – Caller reported four juveniles breaking glass at a building and running when they saw the caller, 1400 block of Poplar. Report taken for criminal mischief and attempted burglary.
8:18 p.m. – Caller reported a stolen bicycle, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $99. Owner given courtesy ride home.
9:02 p.m. – Caller reported hearing something hit her window, then she saw three juveniles run away, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. No damage. Caller wanted juveniles counseled. Officer counseled juveniles about their actions.
