July 13

1:35 a.m. – Callers reported a pickup truck on fire, 1245 Main St., Seamingly Creative. Fire department extinguished fire. Report taken for hit and run for property damage. Truck impounded. Minor damage to Seamingly Creative.

9:28 a.m. – Caller reported backing into another vehicle, 2300 block of Main. No injuries. No citations. Officer assisted in information exchange.

10:29 a.m. – Caller reported people possibly living and dumping garbage in a vacant house, 1200 block of Second. Information noted.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle running over a street sign and driving away, 10th and Oak Terrace. Report taken. Public Works advised.

11:28 a.m. – Caller reported losing a cell phone somewhere in Sweet Home during the parade or logging event.

12:24 p.m. – Dresden Diamond Santich, 38, cited for failure to register vehicle and driving uninsured, 44th and Airport. Vehicle impounded.

1:02 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported a hang-up call where a baby could be heard crying but there were no adult voices, 400 block of Ninth. Officer contacted female, whose 3-year-old child was playing games on the phone and accidentally called 9-1-1.

July 12

10:47 a.m. – Caller reported finding glasses in the parking lot behind Mr. Lucky’s. Seized as found property.

11:02 a.m. – Caller reported finding a needle on the side of the road, Mountain View and 22nd. Officer disposed of needle.

11:32 a.m. – Caller reported that the high school was egged, 1641 Long St. Report taken.

4:49 p.m. – Caller reported two subjects entering an abandoned house, 2200 block of Main. Officer contacted two subjects, who left the area and have been warned.

6:39 p.m. – Caller reported finding a syringe in her yard, 1000 block of 12th. Officer disposed of needle.

6:59 p.m. – Keith Dwayne Peterson, 55, arrested for first-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

8:40 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a wheelbarrow, 1300 block of 13th. Report taken.

8:56 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles in front of Bi-Mart getting into fertilizer bags, 1980 Main St. Officer counseled juveniles.

8:59 p.m. – Kevin Joseph Bachand, 43, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of criminal trespass and two counts of third-degree theft, 12th and Long. Cited and released.

10:42 p.m. – Barbara Johnson, 30, cited for dog as a public nuisance, 3224 Main St. Caller had reported two loose dogs being aggressive. Owner was not home at the time. Officer returned to issue the citation later.

July 11

5:06 a.m. – Caller reported two males passed out in a vehicle, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Officer contacted the males and spoke with the registered owner, who would be walking to a relative’s house nearby. One male sleeping in the vehicle would be there temporarily.

6:38 a.m. – Caller reported someone passed out in a vehicle, 43rd and Main. Officer contacted the registered owner, who was taking a nap before driving home. He was parked legally.

7:24 a.m. – Trevor Alden Groff, 41, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, Linn County supervisory warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Benton county warrant for driving while suspended and Clackamas County warrant for probation violation on original charge of second-degree escape, Main and Clark Mill. Transported to Linn County Jail.

8:51 a.m. – Dustin Kyle Coughran, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Oregon State Police. Cited and released.

8:54 a.m. – Caller reported property damaged by hit and run, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Report taken.

9:16 a.m. – Caller reported the neighbor’s dog running loose and defecating in yards, 41st and Osage area. Officer attempted to contact dog’s owner and left a business card.

9:25 a.m. – Roger Lavern Clay, 50, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and Linn County warrant for contempt of court on original charge of driving under the influence (owes seven days in jail), Pleasant Valley and Main. Transported to Linn County Jail. Vehicle impounded.

11:12 a.m. – Caller reported a neighbor taking photos of her while she’s outside smoking, 300 W. Holley Road, Stonebrook Apartments. Officer contacted the caller and advised her that taking photos of people isn’t a crime, and the police cannot enforce her apartment policies.

11:50 a.m. – Caller reported a three-vehicle injury crash during the parade, 18th and Long. Report taken, and investigation continuing. Two transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

12:18 p.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping on the sidewalk, 1300 block of Long. Officer contacted male, who would move along.

7:24 p.m. – Cody Lee Vern Jones, 33, arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving in single-vehicle rollover crash, Highway 20 milepost 35. Cited and released.

8:55 p.m. – Caller reported the use of bottle rockets, 49th near Mimosa. Officer unable to locate.

8:57 p.m. – Caller reported illegal fireworks, 47th and Live Oak. Officer unable to locate.

9:27 p.m. – Douglas Martin Powers, 36, arrested for misdemeanor driving while suspended and on Lincoln County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of disorderly conduct, possession of burglary tools and driving while suspended and Lane County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of driving under the influence, driving while suspended and possession of less than an ounce of a controlled substance, 1300 Clark Mill Road. Cited and released. Vehicle impounded.

9:39 p.m. – Crystal Amber Allen, 30, cited for failure to carry proof of insurance and driving uninsured, 1200 12th Ave., Chewy’s.

9:42 p.m. – Caller reported kids yelling and possibly drinking at Sankey Park. Officer contacted multiple juveniles and warned them for being in the park after closure.

10:06 p.m. – Caller reported fireworks, 41st and Long. Officer unable to locate.

July 10

3:46 a.m. – Caller reported two males running from location with property in their arms, 5400 block of Osage. The residents had no idea what may have been taken and stated it was fine if everything was taken. The caller is trying to rid himself of the property. Officer would continue to be on the lookout for the subjects.

8:04 a.m. – Caller reported finding a bicycle in the backyard of a vacant lot, 1200 block of Nandina. Bike seized as found property.

9:33 a.m. – Caller reported the improper posting of a sign, 400 block of Oak Terrace. Code enforcement officer spoke with involved parties. Signs removed.

9:39 a.m. – Caller reported improper posting of signs, Strawberry and Nandina. Signs removed by code enforcement officer.

11:40 a.m. – Caller reported that a male drove up and started taking pictures of a neighbor’s house, 300 block of 10th. Caller has video of the vehicle. Information noted.

12:20 p.m. – Caller found two dogs by a railroad crossing and was able to catch one. The other dog remained loose. The captured dog was placed in kennel for Linn County Dog Control.

1:04 p.m. – Caller turned in a gun to be destroyed, 1300 block of Clark Mill.

3:01 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered a vacant building, 1400 block of Clark Mill. Report taken. Loss valued at $50.

4:07 p.m. – Caller reported an unsecured building, and transients were staying in it, 1200 block of 44th. Referred to code enforcement.

4:09 p.m. – Garbage can on fire, Skate Park. No one in the park at the time, and no witnesses available. Fire department extinguished the fire.

4:55 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke her car window, 1300 block of 13th. Report taken.

5:25 p.m. – Donald Wayne Ames, 52, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Cottage Grove. Cited and released.

5:46 p.m. – Caller reported that her elderly father was scammed via computer, 1800 block of 12th. Information noted.

7:42 p.m. – Caller reported an elderly woman wandering the street, 600 block of Seventh. The elderly woman did not know where she belonged. Officer responded, figured out the woman’s address and returned her to her home.

9:19 p.m. – Caller reported that someone tried to steal fountains from her yard and dumped them in the bushes on her property, 1300 block of 13th. Report taken.

July 9

4:34 a.m. – Caller reported someone sleeping under the dumpster, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer unable to locate anyone under the dumpster. The caller said this was the second time the male has been there. Officer located evidence that someone had been under the dumpster.

9:26 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass and weeds, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Referred to code enforcement.

10:20 a.m. – Caller reported that someone is putting up metal and wood around a fence to hide “a lot of very large marijuana plants,” 4300 block of Main. Information noted.

11:08 a.m. – Caller reported a male lying in the grass for the past hour, and the caller could not tell if he was breathing, 3200 block of Main. Officer located a male, who was taking a nap. Male advised to move on.

2:43 p.m. – Caller reported people driving on the curb and throwing gravel in the parking lot, 880 18th Ave., Jim Riggs Community Center. Officer counseled male on his actions. Male would clean up the gravel.

3:30 p.m. – Caller reported finding a bag that has needles in it, 3400 block of Juniper. Officer seized needles and disposed of them.

4:04 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked too close to the stop sign, 22nd and Main. Officer contacted owner, who moved the vehicle.

4:16 p.m. – Caller reported a garbage bag in the westbound lanes, 3100 block of Main. Officer responded. Trash had previously been moved to the side of the road. Officer picked up the trash and disposed of it at the Police Department.

4:24 p.m. – Caller reported a female walked away from the Boys and Girls Club. The child refused to go back in. Officer responded and was able to get the child back into the club.

4:36 p.m. – Jonathan Travis Bishop, 36, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, Lebanon. Cited and released.

6:34 p.m. – Sixteen-year-old male taken into custody for possession of a schedule II controlled substance, 1145 Juniper St. Transported to Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center.

9:37 p.m. – Caller reported a siphon hose and funnel near his vehicle and a gas cap removed from one vehicle, 300 block of West Holley.

July 8

7 a.m. – Caller reported people sleeping under the dumpster, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Caller reported nearly running over their legs as he drove by. Officer advised a male of the complaint, and the male moved on.

8:38 a.m. – Caller reported people living in an RV parked in a yard, 900 block of 27th. Referred to code enforcement.

9:23 a.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping behind a building, 18th and Main, and she wanted him to move along. Officer contacted the male subject, who requested medics. The medics transported him to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

9:40 a.m. – Athena Lacie Noble, 30, cited for driving while suspended, 4610 Main St., number 21.

10:24 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 2200 block of Kalmia. Referred to code enforcement.

10:41 a.m. – Dresden Diamond Santich, 39, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree burglary, 2000 Main St., McDonald’s. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11 a.m. – Caller reported that someone stole fuel from his motor home, 4300 block of Main. Information noted.

11:39 a.m. – Caller reported junk all over a yard, 4900 block of Maple. Referred to code enforcement.

3:28 p.m. – Officer located a bicycle on old mill property, off Green River. Seized as found property.

4:42 p.m. – Caller reported that someone backed into her vehicle, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Officer assisted in exchange of information. No injuries. No citations.

5:54 p.m. – Caller reported finding a piece of metal wedged into the front door lock, O’Reilly’s. Officer responded. The metal was a piece of wire broken off from the street sweeper.

5:59 p.m. – Caller reported an RV blocking the sidewalk, 200 block of Nandina. Referred to code enforcement.

8:03 p.m. – Caller found a stray dog, 1100 block of First. A neighbor knew where it belonged. Officer walked dog home.

9:37 p.m. – Erica Evelyn Fogarty, 21, cited for keeping an unlicensed dog, 1670 13th Ave. Caller reported the neighbor’s dog chewing at her fence and trying to get into her yard. Officer responded. The owner denied the dog was out.

10:02 p.m. – Scott Thomas Orr, 29, arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving, 27766 Hwy. 20. Cited, held for detox and released. Vehicle impounded.

July 7

7:23 a.m. – Caller reported that she thought a dog was caught in a trap because she heard it howling for a while. A deputy responded but did not hear anything in the area.

9:13 a.m. – Caller reported blackberry briars growing over the fence, 2200 block of Nandina. Referred to code enforcement.

10:19 a.m. – Caller reported a junk vehicle in a driveway, 900 block of Third.

11:46 a.m. – Caller reported that someone tried to take his car and broke a key off in the ignition, 1600 block of 13th. Report taken.

12:39 p.m. – Caller found a syringe, 1000 block of North River.

12:59 p.m. – A caller thinks traffic is coming out of the rock quarry too quickly, 1000 block of Pleasant Valley.

1:15 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Referred to code enforcement.

1:17 p.m. – Caller reported shrubbery near the roadway, blocking vision when pulling out from Evergreen, 300 block of Highway 228. Referred to code enforcement.

1:19 p.m. – Caller reported a strong trash odor coming from apartments, 600 block of Third. Referred to code enforcement.

1:30 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor’s chickens are loose in her yard and eating her flowers, 1200 block of 49th. Referred to code enforcement.

1:47 p.m. – Caller reported that a juvenile is ringing his doorbell in the morning at various times, 4900 block of Maple. Referred to code enforcement.

2:06 p.m. – Caller reported tall weeds and grass, 500 block of Main. Referred to code enforcement.

3:35 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole a package containing a cell phone, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Loss valued at $100.

5:02 p.m. – Caller reported subjects jumping a fence and stealing product, 1244 Long St. Report taken.

6:20 p.m. – Caller requested an officer respond because the caller found “something unusual,” a green weed eater and an empty pink and blue box labeled “Still Going Since 1985,” 3700 block of Long. Officer responded. Items seized as found property.

6:39 p.m. – Fire department requested officers respond for a small child in a diaper with no parents around, 1100 block of Long. Babysitter arrived. Officer advised her about her actions and the potential criminal penalties.

8:16 p.m. – Caller reported finding mail, 45th and Main. Officer tried to return the mail, but the residence was empty.

8:23 p.m. – Caller reported hiring and paying a contractor, who canceled a material order and kept the money, 200 block of Highway 228. Investigation continuing.

9:22 p.m. – Brittani N. Scerba, 23, cited for driving uninsured and failure to carry proof of insurance, 12th and Main.

10:21 p.m. – Bradley Myers, 31, arrested for second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree escape and on a Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation, Linn County warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and state warrant for parole violation, 1234 Nandina St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

July 6

3:40 p.m. – Caller reported problems with a contractor in the community, 3900 block of Osage. Investigation continuing.

3:45 p.m. – Caller reported a stolen iPad, 4100 block of Osage. Investigation continuing.

8:05 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole his winning ticket from a video poker machine, 1306 Main St., Main Street Market. Report taken.

8:11 p.m. – Caller reported a male walking down the highway bleeding from a head wound, 3200 block of Main. Medics responded and transported the male to the hospital.

8:25 p.m. – Caller reported a juvenile kicking and throwing yard lights, 1200 block of Second. Report taken.

9 p.m. – Caller reported a female who said she found a body in a vehicle, 4300 block of Main. Female was having mental health issues but was not a threat to others or herself.

11:09 p.m. – Caller reported hearing something at his neighbor’s house, and the neighbor was not home, 1000 block of 13th. Officer responded and found no signs of forced entry or anything suspicious. Unknown if a vehicle was involved.

July 5

12:33 p.m. – Deputies responded to a rescue call for hikers who were 1 to 1½ miles up from Deer Creek Trailhead. They were able to get out of the area on their own.

6:19 p.m. – A caller’s vehicle was parked at the Calkins Park boat ramp while the caller and her family were in the water. When they returned, they noticed their vehicle had been hit.

8:05 p.m. – Caller reported an illegal camp and fire at the Falls Creek Bridge on the river.

July 4

11:12 a.m. – Caller reported that he and a couple of family members were standing in a parking spot to save it when another driver came and took the spot. They were told they are not supposed to save spots.

4:23 p.m. – Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District medics and deputies responded to a call about a 61-year-old woman who fell about 5 feet, boat ramp at Thistle Creek Access Park. She was bleeding from the head.

5:09 p.m. – A Linn County Parks and Recreation officer reported he was assaulted at the Lost Prairie Campground. He was hit in the groin.

7 p.m. – The driver of a gray Acura hit a parked car, 44500 block of North River. The suspect did not stop and headed toward Highway 20.

9:45 p.m. – Caller reported a lot of fireworks going off near the 40400 block of McDowell Creek.

10:05 p.m. – Caller reported large bottle rockets going off in the 41100 block of Port Drive.

10:33 p.m. – Caller complained about fireworks, 45000 block of Quartzville.

11:13 p.m. – Caller reported a very large party, where minors were in possession of alcohol, 46400 block of Highway 20. Deputies drove by the area, but the home was dark.

July 3

9:34 a.m. – A man reported several items stolen from his boat overnight at Sankey Park. Report taken.

6:09 p.m. – Caller said she thought a vehicle at Gedney Creek Boat Ramp had been running all day. She thought there was someone inside it but was not sure because she could not see inside. A deputy responded but was unable to locate the vehicle.

July 2

7:26 p.m. – Caller reported a very large tree in the middle of Pleasant Valley Road.

10:26 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle that had run off the roadway. A tow truck was on the scene attempting to get the vehicle out. The driver showed no signs of impairment.

July 1

8:25 a.m. – Caller reported a white horse heading toward the dam on North River Drive. Deputy located owner, who removed the horse.

3:31 p.m. – Sweet Home Police Department asked Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies to contact male subject about dumping two big bags of garbage into the dumpsters at Coffee Hut. Mail contained the subject’s name.

9:10 p.m. – A caller from Field of Dreams reported that a female was bitten by a rescue dog. She went to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
