July 19

10:33 a.m. – Caller reported vehicle that showed up in their driveway; unknown where it came from. Officer responded and contacted owner, who was at a neighboring residence for yard sale. Vehicle moved. 1202 4th Ave.

1:35 p.m. – Deputies issued parking citations for vehicles parked in no parking area behind numerous boulders, which had been moved. 44500 block Quartzville.

2:59 p.m. – Multiple vehicles blocked in parking area of Sunnyside Park. 44900 block Quartzville.

3:06 p.m. – Deputies issued numerous parking citations to vehicles parked in posted no parking areas outside Lewis Creek Park, 44400 block North River Drive.

5:04 p.m. – Caller reported dogs loose in transient camp at end of Green River Road had lunged at him and child. Officer responded, located motor home. No one was in the area. Officer left business card stating that motorhome needed to be moved from location.

5:16 p.m. – Caller reported person jumping on moving vehicle at Lewis Creek Park, after which a verbal disturbance ensued. At-fault party left before deputies arrived. 44400 block North River Drive.

5:42 p.m. – Oregon State Police reported receiving call about black Mercury unable to maintain lane near milepost 34 on westbound Highway 20. Officer responded, contacted driver who stated that they were trying to read directions and were unfamiliar with the area. Passenger switched places with driver.

7:24 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke into her car and stole several items at Pleasant Valley Boat Ramp. Report taken for unauthorized entry into motor vehicle, second-degree theft.

July 18

6:13 a.m. – Caller reported neighbor working with loud lawn tools at 5:45 a.m. Officer responded and contacted male, learning that there were ongoing problems between neighbors. 4321 Citabria St.

6:45 a.m. – Caller reported that someone spray painted offensive words and graphics on car. Report taken. 340 7th Ave.

11:09 a.m. – Alexander Hird, 32, arrested on federal weapons offense warrant. Deputy had been patrolling day-use pullouts on North River Drive and located large illegal camp with two males in it. Hird transported to jail. The other male cleared the camp and waited for a licensed driver to come get him and vehicles. 43700 block North River.

2:11 p.m. – Caller reported that most vehicles do not stop for stop sign at 47th Avenue and Nandina Street. Officer patrolled area for a while. Will be on the alert.

2:31 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 44500 block of Quartzville. No injuries.

3:54 p.m. – Caller reported a burglary, 44300 block of Whiskey Butte. Multiple power tools worth $1,500 to $2,000 stolen.

5:43 p.m. – Deputies located 13 illegal camps throughout the evening, Quartzville Road. Subjects agreed to move on.

7:05 p.m. – Officer located non-injury crash at intersection of Main Street and Holley Road. Assisted operators with exchange of information.

8:03 p.m. – Jesse Michael Langdon, 39, arrested on Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for parole violation in unauthorized use of motor vehicle case. Cited and released.

9:34 p.m. – Deputy located a subject who had parked in the grass for no reason, 46400 block of Quartzville. He agreed it was a bad idea and moved his truck.

10:32 p.m. – Multiple callers reported possible gunshots or illegal fireworks in area of 969 Cedar St. Officer checked area, identified residence where fireworks may have come from. Resident denied being involved, but was advised to cease the activity. Officers to continue to be on lookout.

July 17

7:24 p.m. – Deputy located two illegal camps, 49500 block of Quartzville. Campers moved on.

1:55 p.m. – Caller reported that a man plowing a field destroyed her fence posts and trespassing signs. Officer responded to find male mowing outside disputed property line. Explained to caller that fence was mistakenly located in wrong spot.

2:12 p.m. – Caller reported lost Nintendo gaming console after driving away with the game unit on top of car. When retraced route, unable to locate. Report taken for lost property. Mimosa Circle.

5:15 p.m. – Officer responded to former Santiam Drug store building where male was yelling at people sitting at petition sign-up table. Officer contacted man who was shouting his counter-opinions, and was able to calm him down and convince him to move on.

8:54 p.m. – Caller reported small “sporty” black car in ditch near milepost 26 on Highway 20.

July 16

2:01 a.m. – Jason Lee Bowen, 43, cited and released in field for reckless driving, White’s Park.

6:30 a.m. – Caller reported a homeless male sleeping in the bus stop, 13th and Kalmia. Officer advised the male of the city ordinance, and he agreed to move on.

7:31 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of a turquoise Ibex bicycle from the bed of his pickup while camped at Sunnyside Park, 44900 block of Quartzville. Loss estimated at $2,000.

12:39 p.m. – Scott Lutz, 49, turned himself in on Albany warrant for misdemeanor driving while suspended, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

1:38 p.m. – John Pablo Scott II, 30, arrested for possession of heroin and a restricted weapon and on state warrant for parole violation on original charge of burglary, 43rd and Main.

6:43 p.m. – Caller reported a single-vehicle crash, 43100 block of North River. Minor injuries.

7:02 a.m. – Caller reported an aggressive dog at large, Holley Road and 3rd. Officer unable to locate.

8:49 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dogs were out and chasing a child, 4610 Main St. Officer contacted the owner and advised of the complaint.

11:07 p.m. – Officer seized stolen plates from a vehicle, 1400 block of Nandina.

July 15

9:37 a.m. – Officer delivered medication, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park.

10:44 a.m. – Caller reported a group of three females and a male left without paying for items, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $40.

12:55 p.m. – Jenny Ann Martin, 43, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 46400 block of Highway 20.

1:05 p.m. – Caller found a bicycle hidden in the yard of a vacant house, 500 block of Redwood. Bike placed in found property.

1:46 p.m. – Sarah Kathern Rodgers, 40, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Lebanon.

2:02 p.m. – Christopher Kirt Edward Kaufman, 29, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft, Oregon Department of Corrections.

2:47 p.m. – Officer delivered medication, 200 block of W. Holley Road.

3:16 p.m. – Caller reported that a female customer was reporting that a male threatened her with a gun when she told him to wear a mask, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Officer determined that the subject did not threaten the female with a gun. He had made a statement that he cannot wear a mask because he was open carrying a firearm. Male was trespassed from location at management’s request.

6:56 p.m. – Matthew Barker, 20, arrested for third-degree assault, conspiracy and second-degree disorderly conduct, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:23 p.m. – Caller reported that someone left a laptop by his front door and it says, “Property of Sweet Home School District” on it, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Item placed in found property.

10:37 p.m. – Skylar James Samson, 30, turned himself in on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree forgery, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

July 14

9:18 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked facing the wrong direction on the street for a few weeks, 9th and Poplar. Vehicle posted for removal.

9:59 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of fishing gear worth $500, 44900 block of Quartzville, Sunnyside Park. Report taken.

10:09 a.m. – Caller turned in a street sign that juveniles knocked off a pole the previous day, 17th and Dogwood. Report taken. Sign returned to Public Works.

11:08 a.m. – Caller reported a bike taken during the night, 800 block of 8th. Report taken. Loss valued at nearly $100.

1:18 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked for several days, 1600 block of Long. Officer responded. Vehicle had heavy damage from a collision and remained at the location of the crash. It was not in the roadway. Registered owner said someone would retrieve it within the week.

1:21 p.m. – Caller received a scam letter at the Post Office, 1303 Long St. Information noted. Caller did not attempt to cash it.

4:15 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle had been sideswiped in a hit and run. Report taken. Damage less than $500.

4:23 p.m. – Caller reported a dog left in a vehicle appeared to be distressed, 679 Main St., Sweet Home Family Medicine. Officer unable to locate.

4:34 p.m. – Caller reported that a homeless female left behind a bag containing drug paraphernalia, 1600 block of 11th. Items seized for destruction.

7:04 p.m. – Caller reported two females walked out with bathing suits they did not pay for, 5430 Main St., Foster Lake Mall. Report taken. Loss valued at $90.

7:07 p.m. – Callers reported a male was sitting partially in the roadway, Main and Holley. Officer assisted moving the male off the roadway.

July 13

10:12 a.m. – Caller reported items taken from an unlocked vehicle during the night, 28100 block of Ridgeway. Report taken.

10:37 a.m. – Caller found a loose dog, Old Holley Road and Paddock Lane. Dog placed in kennel.

12:28 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor has driven around the block several times, honked at residence and yelled profanities at them, 1200 block of Nandina. Officer attended to contact the neighbor, who refused to answer the door and was yelling profanities over and over again. Officer advised her of the complaint through the door.

1:10 p.m. – Caller reported a howling dog in a pickup near the bottle return and the windows were barely down, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Officer contacted the owner and advised him of the complaint. The owner said the dog was only in the vehicle for less than five minutes. Officer advised him of the risks.

1:16 p.m. – Caller reported her son left a dog three or four days ago, 3000 block of Main. She said he was unable to care for the dog, and the caller was unable to care for the dog. Report taken. Dog placed in kennel. Animal Control notified.

7:18 p.m. – Caller reported items stolen from a vehicle, 44500 block of Quartzville. Report taken. Loss less than $1,000.

8:04 p.m. – Caller reported a black Chevrolet Impala hit a mailbox and fled the area, 1200 block of Clark Mill. A second caller reported the vehicle speeding through the area at approximately 50 mph. Another caller reported a vehicle missing a rim was speeding through the area. The caller could see sparks flying from the tire. A fourth caller reported that a vehicle hit a mailbox and left behind a rear bumper and license plate. Report taken. Bumper and license plate seized as evidence.
