1:47 a.m. – Deputies located a vehicle reported stolen from Sweet Home, Marks Ridge. Registered owner advised.
July 23
7:19 a.m. – Single-vehicle crash, Highway 228 near milepost 19.5. A vehicle struck and bounced off a guardrail, coming to rest across the roadway. The driver had become drowsy and fell asleep. No injuries. No citations.
7:32 a.m. – Caller reported a male on a bicycle going through donations, taking a box and leaving east on Main Street, 1762 Main St., Goodwill. Officer contacted the male, who said he thought the items were being disposed of. Officer counseled for his actions. Items returned to the donation center.
10:57 a.m. – Caller reported finding a homeless camp on her property, 2700 block of Long. Officer found debris on the property from two different camps. Caller said she would clean it up and call if they returned.
2:01 p.m. – Travis Gary Hummer, 31, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, Linn County. Cited and released.
2:15 p.m. – Deputy located part of a vehicle cut up on Scott Mountain Road near Cascade Timber Consulting’s Liberty 500 Road. The deputy located a VIN on the vehicle, a dark green Mazda RX8. It had been reported stolen from Albany on June 19. The only remaining parts of the car were the driver’s side foot well, the lower part of the A pillar and the left part of the firewall along with several miscellaneous small interior parts.
3:35 p.m. – Single vehicle crash on Scott Mountain Road near CTC Scott Mountain 300 Road. Driver lost control on a downhill left-hand curve and rolled over into a ditch. No injuries.
5:40 p.m. – Caller reported finding a girls bicycle missing tires, 2301 Main St, Taco Time. Bicycle seized and returned to owner.
6:01 p.m. – Caller reported dogs barking constantly, 300 block of West Pine. Residence quiet upon officer arrival. Officer left a business card for the owner.
6:07 p.m. – Caller reported her vehicle stolen, 2400 block of Main. Report taken.
6:58 p.m. – Caller reported that a male had fallen out of his wheelchair and was lying on the ground, 5900 block of Nandina. Officer assisted the male back into his wheelchair. He did not appear to be injured.
7:14 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog tried to attack the caller’s cat, 28400 block of Liberty. It ran away, and the owner of the dog was unknown.
11:10 p.m. – Tina Marie Gaines, 27, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of heroin, 890 Mountain View Road, Sweet Home Assembly. Officer had located a suspicious vehicle parked at the church.
July 22
12:42 a.m. – Caller brought in a bicycle left at Safeway, 1540 Main St. Placed in found property.
1:22 a.m. – Ciprian Jake Joseph, 19, cited for minor in possession, and a 16-year-old juvenile referred to Linn County Juvenile Department for minor in possession, Foster Dam parking lot off Poplar Street.
9:13 a.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose, 1300 block of Quince. Officer contacted the owner of the dog. The owner was walking the dog without a leash.
10:22 a.m. – Officer flagged down for found property, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Item placed in found property.
12:54 p.m. – Caller found a bag with metal fuel cans by the pole barn at East Linn Museum, 746 Long St. Placed in found property.
1:10 p.m. – Officer located a male with a warrant, 13th and Kalmia. Prior to contact, the male fled on a bicycle. Report taken for interfering with a police officer.
1:20 p.m. – Caller found a syringe, 1100 block of 10th. Officer disposed of the syringe.
1:56 p.m. – Caller reported a male kicked his dog four or five times, 12th and Tamarack. The dog kept trying to walk away from the male. Officer contacted the male with the dog. The male denied the allegations and said he was nudging the dog. Officer counseled the male for his actions.
2:18 p.m. – Caller reported his friend’s bicycle stolen while they were at the store, 1600 block of Fir. Report taken for theft.
7:05 p.m. – Caller reported a shoplifter, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $7.59.
9 p.m. – Caller reported that the title was taken from his girlfriend’s vehicle, 800 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $20.
9:27 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle was in the ditch behind Thriftway, 621 Main St. A store employee advised that the vehicle was disabled, and the owner made arrangements to pick it up the following day.
11:17 p.m. – Caller reported that a subject had been reported firing a semi-automatic weapon out his truck window, milepost 18, Highway 20 eastbound. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate. Officer contacted the caller, who was in the backyard when he heard the shots. The caller assumed by the sound of the vehicle that it was a Chevrolet truck. Officers would continue to watch for the vehicle.
July 21
2:10 p.m. – Ronald Kolbee Credille, 21, served on Sweet Home warrants for three counts of failure to appear on original charge of failure to report and failure to appear on original charge of third-degree escape, Bend.
11:26 a.m. – Caller reported a homeless camp is being set up on property north of Coffee Hut. Officer responded. Nobody was at the camp. Officer left a business card, and the night shift was set to check back at the location.
11:37 a.m. – Demetrius Scott, 18, arrested for third-degree theft and Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charges of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and providing false information to a police officer (owed seven days in jail), 621 Main St., Thriftway. Transported to Linn County Jail. Caller had reported a female stealing items. She had returned the items.
5:05 p.m. – Caller reported backing into another vehicle, 1140 12th Ave., City Hall. Officer assisted them in exchanging information. No injuries. No citations. One driver warned for failing to carry insurance card, and the other warned for failure to yield right of way and failure to carry registration card.
6:23 p.m. – Caller reported an ongoing problem with neighbors allowing their dog to run loose and defecate on the caller’s yard, 1100 block of 43rd. Officer contacted the neighbor and advised of the complaint.
6:29 p.m. – Caller reported a minor fender bender, 44th and Live Oak. Report taken. Damage more than $1,500. No injuries. No citations.
6:30 p.m. – Caller reported a female sleeping behind a building, 1400 block of Poplar. Officer contacted the female and advised her she is not allowed to be there.
7:59 p.m. – Caller reported a female in the gravel lot next to A&W with blood all over her face. She had a large gash in her forehead. The female left prior to officer arrival stating that she did not want contact with the police. An investigation determined that the incident occurred in the 2200 block of Nandina, and the injury may have been self-inflicted. Investigation continuing.
8:22 p.m. – Caller reported ongoing problems with fuel thefts, 1300 block of 47th. Information noted.
8:27 p.m. – Caller reported an ongoing issue with male and female neighbors yelling and screaming at each other, 2400 block of Harding. The caller said they were yelling but not as bad as in the past. The caller has never known it to be physical, but the caller is just tired of listening to them. Officer contacted the subjects and advised them of the complaint. They indicated they were having a loud discussion and said they would make a point of keeping it down.
8:49 p.m. – Firefighters paged to a fire, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. An officer was in the area at the time of the page. The officer removed and extinguished a burning spatula that was inside an oven. Dispatch was unsuccessful at canceling the page prior to firefighter arrival.
10:59 p.m. – Savannah Kaylynn Nunn, 24, arrested on Linn County warrants for failure to appear on four original counts of first-degree theft and original charge of possession of a controlled substance, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Transported to Linn County Jail.
July 20
12:18 a.m. – Annastasia Leah Jaques, 33, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrants for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft and contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of second-degree theft, White’s Park.
9:01 a.m. – Caller reported a strong odor from chickens next door, 1100 block of 29th. Referred to code enforcement.
12:32 p.m. – Caller reported dogs inside a white pickup with the windows up, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Officer contacted the owners. The dog was left in the vehicle for a short period of time. Windows were down about 4 inches, and the shades were up. The dog was fine.
12:44 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into a building at the former location of Sunshine Industries, turned on an eye wash station and flooded the building, 3700 block of Long. Report taken. The flooding damaged records and other materials that had been stored there. Sweet Home Sanitation donated a container to collect damaged materials.
2:15 p.m. – Donna Ashley Claxton, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Marion County. Cited and released.
5:27 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor’s dogs were in his yard again, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded. The dog was on its own property. No one was home. Officer planned to attempt contact again later.
6:10 p.m. – Caller reported that a group of juveniles destroyed her son’s bicycle and threw it in the creek, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Officer contacted juveniles who denied damaging the bicycle. Report taken.
6:10 p.m. – Caller arrived home to find a Buick Skylark in her driveway, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Keys were in the ignition. The vehicle was towed as abandoned.
9:25 p.m. – Caller reported that a juvenile ditched a bike behind a sign at 5050 Mountain Fir St., Wiley Creek Community. Bicycle placed in found property.
10:02 p.m. – Caller reported a female acting strangely, possibly hallucinating, 1234 Main St., Downtown Lounge. Officer contacted the female. She was not acting any differently from usual.
July 19
11:47 a.m. – Caller found a piece of mail containing a check, 800 block of Mountain View.
12:28 p.m. – Officer flagged by a child that “lost his grown-up,” 12th and Nandina. Child reunited with the adult, who was looking for him.
1:55 p.m. – Justin Ray Gomez, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of disorderly conduct, Coos Bay. Cited and released.
2:10 p.m. – Caller reported that someone entered his vehicle and took his handicap placard and other miscellaneous small items, 2200 block of Ironwood. Report taken.
2:52 p.m. – Caller reported that a male stole a drink 45 minutes earlier and left in a gold Honda Accord, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Report taken. Loss valued at $2.14.
3:13 p.m. – Two-vehicle crash, 1700 block of Main. Caller reported that someone backed into his vehicle. Report taken. Damage less than $1,500. Parties exchanged information.
4:47 p.m. – Caller reported a package stolen, 1500 block of 12th. Report taken. Loss valued at $180.
4:53 p.m. – Caller reported that a trailer just collapsed, and people have been known to stay in the trailer, 4610 Main St. Firefighters checked the building. Nobody inside. The trailer may have been demolished by the owner.
8:01 p.m. – Donald Wayne Ames, 27, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended by Oregon State Police. Cited and released.
9:51 p.m. – Robin David Fox, 27, cited and released in field on Lebanon Justice Court warrant for contempt of court for nonpayment, 2405 Main St., Circle K.
July 18
8:53 a.m. – Caller reported that two cars were ramming each other, 1700 block of 9th. They left so quickly that the caller was unable to get a description. One car was black, and the other was possibly a red Honda. Officer checked the area. Unable to locate.
9:08 a.m. – Caller reported that someone punctured her new tire, and the blade was still in the tire, 5500 block of Osage. Report taken.
9:26 a.m. – Caller reported her 27-year-old autistic, non-verbal son missing, 2900 block of Kalmia. Police chief located the missing person within minutes at 22nd and Long.
11:14 a.m. – Caller witnessed a hit and run in front of the Sweet Home Post Office, 1303 Long St. The suspect’s vehicle left east on Long Street. The vehicle was a dirty gold or silver and possibly a Honda, with a Hispanic driver and damage to the driver’s side. The other driver remained at the scene awaiting the officer. Report taken.
11:34 a.m. – Willard Wayne Wood, 48, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of harassment, 1283 44th Ave. Cited and released.
1:08 p.m. – Caller requested assistance with disabled motor homes that had been parked for several days, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Officer provided caller with information about private property towing and planned to talk to the subjects and ask them to leave.
1:32 p.m. – Caller reported roofing material stolen, 1800 block of Cedar. Report taken. Loss valued at $1,250.
1:39 p.m. – An elderly male in a powered wheelchair was out of power, 5400 block of Main. The caller pushed him into the shade. Officers transported the male and his chair to his residence.
3:18 p.m. – Gay Lynn Wagner (AKA Estep), 47, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft (owed 10 days in jail), Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation and Sweet Home warrant for contempt of court on original charge of third-degree theft; and Henry Drew Tucker, 31, arrested on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 22nd and Tamarack. Wagner transported to Linn County Jail. Tucker cited and released. Caller had reported a male passed out in the back seat of a car.
6:41 p.m. – Caller reported that someone tried to pry open his doors while he was at work, 100 block of 8th. Report taken.
8:08 p.m. – Caller reported that she had a stray dog in her yard, 800 block of 5th. Placed in kennel. Animal Control notified.
July 17
8 a.m. – Caller reported that a U-Haul was parked in front of the Foster Post Office and someone was living out of it, 53rd and Poplar. Another truck was parked next to it during the weekend, and trash was on the ground, making it hard to get into the Post Office. Officer contacted a female and her adult daughter. The female is staying in an apartment across the street while the daughter was sleeping in the truck with the dogs at night. The officer advised them of the city ordinances, and they would work on resolving the issue. Officer observed no trash near the vehicle or blockage of Post Office parking.
9:14 a.m. – Caller reported that a male dumped a wheelbarrow full of ash, metal and other debris on the South Hills Trail. Officer responded. Unknown where the debris came from. Public Works notified.
9:48 a.m. – Kyle Scott Traxtle, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for third-degree theft, Redmond. Cited and released.
10:33 a.m. – Caller reported a fifth-wheel trailer and an older green pickup parked on the side of the road for more than a week, 1600 block of 18th. Caller also said a lot of vehicles were parked around it in the morning. Officer located two vehicles and the fifth-wheel trailer. All were unoccupied except for a dog in the trailer. Foot traffic was obvious between the pickup and trailer. Officer left a business card for contact and planned to post for removal if they weren’t moved by the following day.
12:35 p.m. – Robert Michael Butterfield, 29, arrested on Lebanon Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on a citation; Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft; and a Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of driving under the influence, 937 Nandina St. Cited and released.
3:23 p.m. – Caller reported a male going door-to-door selling soap, 700 block of 28th. Officer warned the male for no peddler’s license. He said he would cease until he met the requirement.
4:45 p.m. – Caller reported that neighbors were throwing garbage out the back door, 1100 block of 18th. The caller said it’s piling up in the yard and stinks. Referred to code enforcement.
4:54 p.m. – Caller found a pouch with miscellaneous identification, 1100 block of Main. Officer attempted to call the owner and left a message. Unknown if the number is current. Officer also sent a letter to last known address.
5:51 p.m. – Caller reported that a dog bit a child, 3224 Main St., South Fork manufactured home park. Medics responded. Dog quarantined.
8:28 p.m. – Caller reported two transients with two grocery carts full of stuff headed toward the river, 47th and railroad tracks. The caller believed they were getting ready to set up camp. Officer delayed by call load.
9:59 p.m. – Johnny Lee Stone, 25, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of driving while suspended and for probation violation, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.
10:10 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious male walking around behind a building, 6300 block of Main. Officer contacted and trespassed the male.
10:30 a.m. – Caller reported that her dogs were barking, and she was concerned there might be someone wandering around her property, 1600 block of 18th. Officer responded. Dogs were quiet upon arrival. Officer checked the area but did not locate anything suspicious.
10:44 p.m. – Caller reported her neighbor’s dogs were barking and that someone had broken into her house the night before, 1000 block of 12th. She believed the suspects might have been back. Officer responded. Everything was quiet upon arrival, and the officer was unable to locate any suspicious activity.
11:36 p.m. – Issac Willis Goetz, 19, cited for driving without a license and no insurance, 1250 47th Ave. Vehicle impounded.
