Public Safety Log July 3, 2017

June 27

12:15 a.m. – Caller reported his phone stolen, 800 block of Dogwood. Information noted. Caller reported that when he woke up he noticed the phone was stolen. Officer responded and learned that a friend took the phone to Lebanon, and someone took it from the friend in Lebanon.

12:34 a.m. – The male caller from the previous report brought the female who had his phone last, 2405 Main St., Circle K. A second caller reported that a male grabbed her out of her vehicle and brought her to the Sweet Home Police Department, 1950 Main St. Officer responded and took a report for kidnapping, menacing, coercion and harassment. Second caller, Jessie Lee Duncan, 22, cited and released in field on Brownsville warrant for failure to appear.

2:14 a.m. – The second caller from the previous report flagged down an officer to report that when arriving back at the caller’s vehicle, the caller’s dog was no longer inside, 1200 block of 12th. Report taken.

8:55 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 300 block of 9th. Referred to code enforcement.

8:56 a.m. – Caller reported property has abandoned vehicles parked in the front and side yards, 1400 block of 22nd. Referred to code enforcement.

10:21 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 300 block of Taylor Creek. Referred to code enforcement.

10:37 a.m. – Caller reported that a male stole doughnuts and beer, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at $15.

1:57 p.m. – Caller reported a package stolen from her mailbox, 400 block of 12th. Information noted.

3:43 p.m. – Mackenzie Erin Way, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, Salem. Cited and released.

4:06 p.m. – Caller reported a lock was cut off of a storage unit and replaced with another lock, 800 block of Main. Report taken for criminal mischief. Loss valued at $5. Nothing appeared to be missing from the storage unit.

4:12 p.m. – Caller reported that a cat at her parents’ house appeared to have been shot, 100 block of 7th. Officer responded. The cat was badly injured. Officer dispatched the cat.

5:15 p.m. – Caller reported a bale of hay in the roadway, 49th and Airport. Officer responded. Hay no longer a hazard.

5:22 p.m. – Caller reported fuel was siphoned from his car, 3700 block of Green River. Officer responded. The vehicle had no fuel to take. The caller requested extra patrol because there has been a lot of traffic on the mill property, possibly drug deals or poaching.

5:24 p.m. – Caller reported that someone cut the lock off a freezer and stole food, 5300 block of Main. Report taken. Loss valued at $400.

5:46 p.m. – Caller reported that someone hit his parked car, 1100 block of 24th. Report taken. No injuries. No citations. Officer assisted in exchange of information.

4:10 p.m. – Joey Dwayne Persinger, 22, arrested on Santiam Correctional Institute warrant for transitional leave violation, 2240 Long St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

June 26

9:53 a.m. – Caller reported tall weeds and grass, 1600 block of 9th. Referred to code enforcement.

9:55 a.m. – Breanna Marie Johnston, 23, cited and released in field on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 15th and Nandina.

9:55 a.m. – Caller reported tall weeds and grass, 1700 block of 9th. Referred to code enforcement.

10:13 a.m. – Caller reported blackberries growing over the sidewalk, 2100 block of Main. Referred to code enforcement.

11:29 a.m. – Alejandro Martinez Arciniega, 22, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for second-degree disorderly conduct, Albany. Cited and released.

11:39 a.m. – Caller reported that a couple of syringes were found in the parking lot and turned in at the service desk, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Officer seized and disposed of them.

11:45 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 1300 block of Sunset. Referred to code enforcement.

11:46 a.m. – Caller reported a trailer full of trash in a side yard and broken down vehicles in a driveway, 1300 block of Sunset. Referred to code enforcement.

12:18 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass at five locations, 1800 block of Yucca, 1900 block of 27th and 2700 block of Long.

12:22 p.m. – Caller reported a couch in a parking lot for more than a week, 1100 block of 29th. Referred to code enforcement.

12:32 p.m. – Caller reported briers allowed to grow over a fence, 1300 block of Nandina. Referred to code enforcement.

1:26 p.m. – Randolph Herbert Hagans, 55, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of criminal mischief, 12th and Poplar. Cited and released.

1:42 p.m. – Robert Aaron Davis, 43, served on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Corvalllis.

3:03 p.m. – Officer found a small orange chainsaw case, 2200 block of Main. Placed in found property.

4:28 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass at two locations, 2900 block of Jefferson and 2700 block of Juniper.

5:13 p.m. – Caller reported her granddaughter bitten by a dog, 5400 block of Quince. Quarantine issued.

6:31 p.m. – While on forest patrol, a deputy located two adults and a small child camping at milepost 16.6, the old group camp area on Corps of Engineers property where camping is prohibited. The deputy spoke with the couple who said they were contacted by another deputy the day before and were told to move up the road. Instead, they decided to haul hay in the Lebanon area. They had a campfire and were told to vacate the group camp area before dark. The deputy posted a new “no camping/no fires” sign at the location and dismantled a makeshift fire ring.

6:55 p.m. – Caller reported that people pulled trash out of a garbage can and started a fire, 1100 block of 13th. Officer contacted a male subject and warned him for his actions and potential consequences. No damage was caused.

7:38 p.m. – Caller reported that a box fell out of a truck, 1300 block of 1st. Officer responded. Item returned to owner.

7:42 p.m. – Shawna Jean Tidwell, 29, cited and released in field on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of delivery of heroin, delivery of meth, possession of heroin, possession of meth and tampering with physical evidence, 800 block of Oak Terrace.

7:56 p.m. – Caller found a dog at large, 14th and Elm. Placed in kennel, and Animal Control notified.

8:25 p.m. – Caller reported a dog left in a car, 1300 block of Main. Officer responded. The vehicle was not hot enough to cause the dog to be in distress. Owner was with the dog while officer was on scene.

8:36 p.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor had a wood fire in the neighbor’s backyard, 700 block of 12th. The caller didn’t know if the neighbor was being safe or if the burn was legal. Fire district determined it was not a legal fire, but it was not unsafe. The homeowner agreed to extinguish the fire for the night.

8:43 p.m. – Caller reported that a male was trying to sleep at a business, and the caller told him to move along, 1300 block of Long. The male started yelling at the caller. Officer responded and contacted two males who may have been involved. Officer advised them to move along. One male was warned for open container of alcohol.

9:20 p.m. – Caller reported that people were in a gray van at a location that is supposed to be vacant, 5000 block of Main. Officer contacted a male and female who had stopped to rest. Officer advised them to move along.

10:37 p.m. – Lacey Marie Nicole Davidson, 38, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, and Henry Drew Tucker, 31, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of third-degree theft and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1100 block of 38th. Davidson cited and released.
