July 7

3:15 a.m. – Caller reported someone broke into his vehicle, 1800 block of 18th. Report taken.

7:14 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into her vehicle and stole about $100 worth of CDs, 1200 block 49th. Report taken.

8:03 a.m. – Caller reported that a male was just in her driveway trying to steal her pop cans, 1400 block of 53rd. Male trespassed from the property.

12:33 p.m. – Caller turned in eight boxes of ammunition, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Property seized.

July 6

2:10 a.m. – Matthew David Graber, 30, and Alexander James Smith, 30, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief, 103 10th Ave. Cited and released.

6:52 a.m. – Caller reported stolen bicycle, 2300 block of Main. Report taken. Bike valued at $25.

8:06 a.m. – Bryan Robert Dewolfe, 23, arrested for third-degree theft, 1306 Main St., Chevron. Cited and released.

9:33 a.m. – Bryan Robert Dewolfe, 23, and Marie Therese Ramos, 34, arrested for third-degree theft, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s. Cited and released. Caller reported that a male and female had just taken the Sweet Home Emergency Ministries donation container from Hoy’s and headed west on Main Street.

5:35 p.m. – Caller reported three juvenile boys throwing rocks at vehicles, 1900 block of Main. They got into a vehicle and headed west. Officer unable to locate.

5:45 p.m. – Caller reported he hit a bicyclist with his vehicle, Eighth and Terrace. Report taken.

12:19 p.m. – Calvin Lee Babbitt, 22, cited for dangerous left turn in two-vehicle crash, 800 block of Main. No injuries. Second driver was Nicholas Lee Larew, 55.

July 5

1:09 a.m. – Melissa Merlene Scott AKA Nelson, 43, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on original charge of unauthorized departure and warrant for probation violation on original charge of unauthorized departure, Main and First.

9:37 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle with spray paint on it, 1500 block of Ninth. Officer contacted owner who only wanted information noted for now.

10:44 a.m. – Caller reported a female had side-swiped his vehicle, 1500 block of Main. Damage under $1,500. Information exchanged.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported that a male stole a beer from the Chevron station, 1306 Main St. Report taken. Beer valued at $1.99.

2:25 p.m. – Chrystal Chantel Dawn Schatz, 30, cited and released in field for second-degree criminal mischief, 1100 block of Long.

3:47 p.m. – Caller reported having rough-cut lumber valued at more than $1,000 taken, 4300 block of Main. Report taken.

3:53 p.m. – Scott Clifford McAuley, 27, arrested for fourth-degree assault and attempted third-degree robbery, 3239 Main St. Cited and released.

3:59 p.m. – Caller reported multiple items taken in late June, 3600 block of Green River. Report taken.

10:25 p.m. – Caller reported neighbors setting off fireworks, 1200 block of 40th. Officer contacted neighbors. They said they were done for the evening.

July 4

4:23 a.m. – Jacob Lynn Goodwin, 19, cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, 2405 Main St., Circle K.

10:35 a.m. – Paula Lynn Melbye, 42, arrested for third-degree theft and possession of meth and cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Caller reported a shoplifter.

11:29 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle had been vandalized with spray paint, 1600 block of Ninth.

11:39 a.m. – Caller reported a theft at home, 1500 block of 40th. Report taken. Stolen property worth $150.

4:42 p.m. – Caller reported a female at Shea Point advising that there had been a murder committed at a local motel. Officer responded. Male had picked up the female and indicated he would get directions to the hospital and take her there for mental evaluation. Report unfounded.

5:54 p.m. – Caller reported he parked a trailer at 44th and Main with an antelope mount on it. When he returned, the trailer and mount were gone. Report taken. Property valued at $650.

9:27 p.m. – Caller reported illegal fireworks, 4500 block of Long. Officer responded but did not see any on approach. Contacted resident and cautioned resident about illegal fireworks.

10:06 p.m. – Caller reported fireworks hitting her window, 1200 block of Laurel. Officer contacted a group of individuals who denied using illegal fireworks. They had legal fireworks in their possession.

July 3

3:49 a.m. – James Michael Edward Slaght AKA McElroy, 19, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal trespass, Eugene. Cited and released.

5:42 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of petrified wood, 3220 Main St., Cascade Timber Consulting. Report taken. Stolen property worth $125.

7:09 a.m. – Caller reported a man stealing gasoline from a vehicle, Wiley Creek Park. Report taken. Value of stolen fuel was about $8.

1:49 p.m. – Caller reported damage to locking fuel door on his vehicle and stolen gasoline, 1000 block of Third. Report taken.

10:58 p.m. – Megan Louise Rubidoux, 20, cited for driving while suspended, 3200 block of Main.

July 2

9:06 a.m. – Caller reported $150 worth of pop cans stolen, 4600 block of Long. Report taken.

9:54 a.m. – Caller reported tall weeds and grass, 700 block of 29th.

6:35 p.m. – Caller reported that someone is using her credit card, 900 block of Long. Report taken. Loss valued at $214.93.

8:30 p.m. – Caller reported that someone hacked into her computer and stole money from her, 3500 block of Juniper St. Report taken. Loss valued at $53.

8:52 p.m. – Matthew Charles Nill, 31, arrested on Linn County warrant for providing false information to a police officer (owes 14 days in jail) and charged with possession of meth, 1102 Nandina St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

9:29 p.m. – Caller reported loud fireworks, 23rd and Ironwood. Unable to locate.

10:04 p.m. – Caller reported firefighters hitting her house, 4400 block of Live Oak. Unable to locate.

July 1

5:51 a.m. – Caller reported that her vehicle was entered during the night and about $400 in property was stolen, 400 block of Juniper. Report taken.

8:54 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered two of his vehicles during the night and stole about $55 in property, 1000 block of Third. Report taken.

9:04 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle entered during the night and about $20 in property stolen, 900 block of Third. Report taken.

10 a.m. – Caller turned in a large knife he found under the bridge in the water, 40000 McQueen.

10:46 a.m. – Caller reported juveniles were making fireworks into bombs, 100 block of 10th. Officer contacted juveniles and mother. They had altered fireworks. Officer counseled them.

10:59 a.m. – Caller reported finding clothing and food inside the dugout on the junior varsity softball field, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. The caller believes someone has been staying there. Officer responded and located some clothing. Officer left a card asking that the items be removed. The officer would monitor the location throughout the day.

12:22 p.m. – Scott Kevin Heinz, 26, cited on Sweet Home warrant for contempt of court, Linn County Jail.

2:15 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 1400 block of Ninth. Referred to code enforcement.

2:30 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 600 block of Second. Referred to code enforcement.

9 p.m. – Caller reported a pickup in a ditch off Highway 20 east of Riggs Hill Road. Officer located the vehicle. The vehicle had a flat tire, and the driver pulled too far over into the ditch. Tow truck responding to assist.

9:51 p.m. – Caller reported that someone dyed her cat’s fur, 100 block of Eighth. Information noted.

10:38 p.m. – Caller reported someone in the area setting off fireworks, 2300 block of Main. Unable to locate.

10:44 p.m. – Caller reported a female walking by just smashed her mailbox, 3200 block of Main. Report taken.

June 30

9:23 a.m. – Caller reported someone broke into a vehicle, 40000 block of Highway 228. Report taken.

2:41 p.m. – Caller reported multiple disabled vehicles parked, 2200 block of Nandina. One has a wasp nest inside it. Referred to code enforcement.

3:18 p.m. – Eric Anthony Bertoglio, 22, cited for no license, Main and 60th.

3:24 p.m. – Caller reported a shoplifter, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Approximate value of stolen property was $837.67. Report taken.

3:31 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke into the caller’s shed and took property worth $1,350, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Report taken.

11:44 p.m. – Jenifer Joleen Hanna, 36, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 45th north of the old airport.

June 29

11:28 a.m. – Caller reported a burglary, 49000 block of Highway 20. Report taken.

2:43 a.m. – Caller reported gasoline stolen from boat, 26000 block of Old Holley. Report taken.

June 26

10:29 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of property, including two fishing poles, 28000 block of Highway 20. Report taken.
