May 29

3:37 a.m. – Caller reported someone was screaming near Hilltop Market, 4800 block of Main. Officer contacted a male who said he was just yelling at himself. He agreed to move on.

4:04 a.m. – Caller reported a suspicious male walking down the street with a chainsaw, 22nd and Main. Officer contacted the male. He denied any criminal activity.

4:12 a.m. – Mason William Monroe, 27, arrested on Benton County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft; Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation; Linn County warrants for possession of heroin, theft, two counts of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, first-degree theft, second-degree criminal mischief, failure to appear on a criminal citation, failure to appear and failure to comply on two original charges of possession of heroin, 2400 block of Main. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:21 a.m. – Jamie Carpenter, 44, cited and released for possession of methamphetamine and a failure to appear warrant, 43200 block of North River.

May 28

1:34 a.m. – Bryce William McGowan, 36, cited and released in field for misdemeanor driving while suspended and cited for driving uninsured, 3000 block of Main.

2:19 a.m. – Brody Dylan Burright, 17, cited for driving while suspended, North River near Pleasant Valley.

6:37 a.m. – Caller reported someone broke into a vehicle during the night, 3700 block of Long. Report taken. Loss valued at $55.

8:16 a.m. – Caller reported a stray dog in the area, 1600 block of 12th. The dog was at the caller’s house. The caller advised to contact Linn County Animal Control. Caller decided to hold the dog and actively look for the owner for the time being.

8:55 a.m. – Report taken for unauthorized entrance into a motor vehicle, 44900 block of Quartzville.

10:07 a.m. – Caller found car keys, 1400 block of Nandina. Placed in found property.

11:51 a.m. – Jamie Daniel Carpenter, 41, cited for driving while suspended and open container of alcohol, 54th and Osage.

12:55 p.m. – Caller found syringes, 300 W. Holley Road, Stonebrook Apartments. Prior to officer response, apartment management responded to dispose of the items.

2:44 p.m. – Caller reported a dog barking for the past few hours, Gilbert Lane and Highway 228. Officer warned the owner for keeping a dog as a public nuisance and forwarded a report to code enforcement.

3:38 p.m. – Linn County Search and Rescue, Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District, Upper McKenzie Fire District, U.S. Forest Service firefighters, Oregon Department of Forestry firefighters, Lane County Search and Rescue and an Oregon Army National Guard helicopter rescued an injured hiker from Blue Pool, 59700 block of Highway 126. A 20-year-old female fell from a cliff and needed medical attention. She was rescued by a rope team and transported by helicopter to Riverbend Hospital in Springfield.

5:49 p.m. – Joseph Thomas Parker, 41, arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving, five counts of recklessly endangering another person and Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of driving under the influence and second-degree criminal mischief in two-vehicle crash, Highway 20 milepost 32 east of Sweet Home. He also was cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

6:33 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle sticking out in the roadway, 1100 block of Ironwood. Officer contacted the owner, who agreed to move it.

7:51 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of menacing with a firearm, 49800 block of Quartzville. Deputies contacted all parties, and the investigation is ongoing.

May 27

1:18 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked partially in the roadway, Main Street, west city limits. Officer contacted and assisted a male with getting the vehicle out of the roadway.

4:43 a.m. – Caller reported his vehicle had been spray painted, 700 block of Elm. No damage. Information noted at caller’s request.

8:16 a.m. – David Paul Gruwell, 53, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Albany.

9:55 a.m. – Caller reported someone painted curse words in the parking lot, 877 14th Ave., Sankey Park. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

10:11 a.m. – Leatrice Naomi Davis, 62, cited and released on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of hit and run, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

11:37 a.m. – Calls to the Police Department have continued since May 26 from a male in the 1100 block of 55th on non-police business. Officers made contact with the subject, but he stepped back into his residence and locked the door. Citations remain pending.

12:01 p.m. – Caller reported an older Dodge pickup with a homemade wooden camper had been parked across the caller’s residence for several days, 1400 block of 53rd. Officer unable to contact registered owner. Vehicle posted for removal.

2:30 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle had been parked on the street for months, 2800 block of Fir. Officer contacted the owner, who agreed to move the vehicle.

2:40 p.m. – Caller reported a male stealing a shopping cart from Thriftway, 621 Main St. Officer contacted the male and trespassed him from the location. Officer warned him of the consequences if he returns to the property. Caller did not wish to pursue charges at this time.

3:17 p.m. – Caller found a couple of syringes in her shed, 4100 block of Osage. Officer disposed of the items.

3:51 p.m. – Caller reported someone left a suitcase in her carport, 1300 block of 45th. Item placed in found property.

4:06 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle had been parked for an extended period of time, 1300 block of 45th. Vehicle posted for removal on June 1.

8:22 p.m. – Caller reported his vehicle had been spray painted, 900 block of Elm. Information noted.

9:52 p.m. – Shane William Wells, 44, cited for driving while suspended, 3000 block of Main.

10:54 p.m. – Jay Boyd Marsh, 55, turned himself in on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of second-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

May 26

1:33 a.m. – Caller reported she needed help and didn’t know who she was, 1700 block of 12th. Officer responded. Female requested transport to the hospital. Officer transported her because of her violent behavior.

4:55 a.m. – Caller reported that she fell and hadn’t been able to get up for two days, 1300 block of 13th. Officer assisted medics at location.

8:40 a.m. – Misty Clark, 40, arrested for first-degree aggravated theft, Linn County. Cited and released.

8:48 a.m. – Caller reported a male sleeping in a parked vehicle, 1200 block of Cessna. Officer contacted the male, who said he used a portable toilet and then fell asleep. He said he would leave as soon as he could get a valid driver.

12:06 p.m. – David Rochefort, 54, cited for failure to wear seatbelt, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

1:28 p.m. – Caller was concerned about the lack of social distancing at 1234 Main St., Downtown Lounge. Officer spoke with the caller by phone. Information noted. Report to be forwarded to Oregon Liquor Control Commission.

1:48 p.m. – Caller reported caregiver left on May 24 and believes she may have used $500 on the caller’s credit card, 1800 block of Fir. Report taken.

2:40 p.m. – Caller reported that a subject had called the Sweet Home Police Department 13 times for business not related to the Police Department, 1100 block of 55th. Caller requested an officer contact the subject and advise him to quit calling. Officer contacted the male, who was heavily intoxicated and advised him of the complaint. The male said he would stop.

5:42 p.m. – Caller reported her daughter hit her in the face and she was bleeding but did not need medics, 2200 block of Larch. Report taken for harassment to be forwarded to city attorney.

6:26 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of a phone, 1400 block of 60th. A “find-my-phone” app was used to locate the phone in some tall grass. The caller’s father advised he did not want the caller and her friends involved in a criminal investigation, so the deputy did not investigate further.

8:41 p.m. – Caller reported a male violated a restraining order by sending photos, 1800 block of Ulex. Report taken.

9:02 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle in an area posted, “no vehicles,” Clark Mill pond. Officer contacted a female and advised her of park hours and the complaint.

9:54 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked in front of his house, 500 block of 9th. Vehicle appeared abandoned. Officer secured the vehicle and left a business card.

May 25

8:39 a.m. – Caller reported her husband was a victim of fraud, 1100 block of 23rd. Caller given contact information for the Federal Trade Commission. Caller was already working with the involved bank and retailer.

12:28 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his vehicle during the weekend, 2800 block of Fir. Report taken. Loss valued at $3.

12:58 p.m. – Caller reported an abandoned vehicle, 1300 block of Poplar. Officer responded. Vehicle was parked at location for about a week. Officer to monitor, and if still parked there on May 29, it was to be tagged for removal.

1:38 p.m. – Caller reported a driver left without paying for fuel two days earlier, 1810 Main St., Main Street Market. Report taken. Loss valued at $100.

1:53 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor was flying a drone over the caller’s property, 1800 block of Tamarack. Officer contacted and advised the neighbor of city ordinances.

2:27 p.m. – Deputy assisted the park ranger at Sunnyside Campground with an uncooperative occupant and a large group causing issues and not following rules.

7:12 p.m. – Caller reported two pit bulls chased after him and his dogs, 16th and Fir. One bit the caller’s beagle, but the beagle was not injured. Officer counseled the owner for dog at large at caller’s request.

May 24

2:03 a.m. – Ethan Mitchell Bird, 47, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 1st and Main.

6:20 a.m. – Officer removed debris from the roadway, Wiley Creek Bridge.

9:07 a.m. – Caller reported someone knocked down a street sign during the night, 24th and Long. Officer attempted contact with a nearby residence to request security footage. Officer left a business card for contact later.

10:20 a.m. – Caller reported a large hole in the roadway, 44th and Airport. Public Works advised. Public Works planned to repair it on May 26. Officer placed cones around the hazard.

11:48 a.m. – Caller found a debit card, 1199 10th Ave., Key Bank. Placed in found property.

6:03 p.m. – Caller reported a dog panting inside a vehicle with windows barely down, 1540 Main St. Officer contacted owner, who said she would lower the windows.

6:10 p.m. – Alicia Baker, 29, cited for speeding, 65 mph in a 45-mph zone, 3000 block of Main.

6:56 p.m. – Caller found a purse in front of the church, 1266 44th Ave., New Life in Christ Fellowship. Placed in found property.

8:30 p.m. – Ryan Sechrest, 33, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, and Julianne Phillips, 26, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of driving under the influence, possession of heroin and driving while suspended along with three counts of failure to appear and Albany warrant for contempt of court, 5401 Main St., Foster Lake Market. Vehicle impounded.

10:04 p.m. – Jaycee Ryan McClurg, 33, cited on Linn County supervisory warrant and advised when to appear at Linn County Jail, 1010 Main St., A&W.

May 23

10:23 a.m. – Caller reported an assault, 2200 block of Main. Officer responded and contacted both parties, who had differing stories on the incident. Female had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by medics. Officer to follow up later.

11:20 a.m. – Ashley Linn Estacio, 31, cited and released in field for second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief, 1200 block of 46th.

12:50 p.m. – Caller reported a loose dog that jumped at nearby children, 2200 block of Nandina. Officer responded. Dog was secure at a residence. Residents said they were watching the dog for someone else.

6:58 p.m. – Heather Kelly, 40, cited and released in field for second-degree theft, 1100 block of 55th.

7:34 p.m. – Caller reported water running from a building across the street, 1300 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded. Water was coming from a bay door. Officer unable to contact a responsible person. Public Works advised.

9:19 p.m. – Caller reported multiple people at the park with a fire going, 1712 11th Ave., Northside Park. Officer contacted four individuals who had a candle lit. They were advised of park hours and agreed to leave.

May 22

7:38 a.m. – In connection to a search warrant at 1241 23rd Ave., apartment 13, Cascadia Village, KC Everett Merle Holt, 37, arrested for possession of methamphetamine; Cameron Wark, 30, arrested for possession of methamphetamine; James Clayburn 63, arrested for possession of methamphetamine; Etta Louis Holt, 55, cited and released in field for possession of methamphetamine and frequenting a place where a controlled substance is used; and Matthew Smith, 54, arrested for possession of methamphetamine and Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of methamphetamine. KC Holt, Wark and Clayburn cited and released, and Smith transported to Linn County Jail.

7:46 a.m. – Caller found a syringe in the roadway, Steelhead Way. Officer disposed of syringe.

12:18 p.m. – Caller reported his credit card had been compromised, 300 block of 8th. Report taken. Caller was not out any money.

2:30 p.m. – Caller sent a prepaid gift card to a friend but when the friend went to redeem it, he was told it had already been used, 5400 block of Poplar.

4:38 p.m. – Jacob Daniel Dewar, 22, cited for no license, old mill property off Clark Mill. Caller had reported a white mid-1990s Jeep Cherokee was back four-wheeling on the property.

7:01 p.m. – Caller came home and found his reportedly stolen pistol had been returned, 500 block of 6th. Firearm removed from Law Enforcement Data System.

7:14 p.m. – Bicyclist eluded officer and ditched the bicycle in Sweet Home High School parking lot. Bicycle seized as found property.

7:15 p.m. – Caller reported a phone stolen, Hilltop Laundry. Report taken. Loss valued at $100.

10:15 p.m. – Caller reported a possibly intoxicated male yelled and cursed at her and her niece while they were outside walking, 12th and Tamarack. Officer contacted the male, who was intoxicated. The male went home.

11:56 p.m. – Caller reported bricks in the roadway, 4th and Highway 228. Officer responded and removed rocks and wood from the roadway.
