May 29

12:07 a.m. – Alexander David Bruce, 20, arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving and minor in possession of alcohol and cited for no license and no insurance, 800 block of Main. Cited and released.

7:36 a.m. – Caller reported a big brown dog acting aggressively and trying to bite her when she walked by, 4600 block of Long. Officer unable to locate but would look for it throughout shift.

9:11 a.m. – Caller reported someone camping under Wiley Creek Bridge. Officer contacted a male there and advised him no camping was allowed there. He was supposed to put out the fire and move along.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported a brown dog charging at the caller and her dogs as they walked by, 300 block of Ironwood. Officer spoke with the owner, who said the dog had jumped over the fence. The owner is trying to better secure the dog.

12:10 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 300 block of Ironwood. Referred to code enforcement officer.

May 28

9:38 a.m. – Caller reported an ongoing issue with a female currently sleeping behind 1127 Long St., American Legion Hall. Officer contacted female and asked her to move along. Officer also advised her she needs permission to stay on private property.

11:32 a.m. – Caller reported losing her rings, 1400 block of Westwood. Report taken for lost property.

12:05 p.m. – Kevin Lee Strunk, 38, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of driving under the influence, driving while suspended and criminal citation, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Transported to Linn County Jail.

12:47 p.m. – Caller reported a female subject who did not pay for fuel, 2295 Main St.

2:26 p.m. – Zachariah Lee Davis, 27, and Terr See, 54, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, 4600 block of Main. Caller had reported a road rage incident that turned into a physical fight with multiple people.

8:18 p.m. – Caller reported dogs barking nonstop, 2000 block of Ames Creek. Referred to code enforcement.

10:33 p.m. – Travis Trent Stach-Sells, 26, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of meth, Pleasant Valley Bridge. Cited and released.

10:43 p.m. – Caller reported a dog barking nonstop, 900 block of 23rd. Officer left business card for owner.

11:19 p.m. – Elijah Mark Devyldere, 19, cited for failure to carry proof of insurance, Main and Pleasant Valley.

May 27

6:47 a.m. – Caller reported that a miniature doberman ran toward Main Street, 200 block. Officer unable to locate.

8:41 a.m. – Caller reported the theft of $4,500 worth of property, 800 block of Main. Report taken.

10:02 a.m. – Caller reported a stray dog, 1100 block of 13th. Officer contacted a subject with a dog matching the description. The dog was secured.

11:46 a.m. – Caller reported catching a subject stealing items from his garage, 2200 block of Ironwood. Caller did not wish to pursue charges. Caller was able to recover stolen bags of soda cans.

11:58 a.m. – Caller reported two subjects had set up a camp in an alcove behind 1234 Long St. Officer contacted the church, which had given them permission to stay there. Code enforcement officer was to contact the church and advise the church it cannot allow people to camp.

1:46 p.m. – Caller reported a car in the street for more than a year, 4400 block of Live Oak. Referred to code enforcement.

1:47 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 1300 block of 53rd. Referred to code enforcement.

1:49 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle parked for a prolonged period, 18th and Elm. Referred to code enforcement.

1:50 p.m. – Caller reported a mattress leaning against a fence, 900 block of 27th. Referred to code enforcement.

2:53 p.m. – Caller reported a wallet stolen from her vehicle, 1300 block of Quince. Report taken. Loss valued at $630. Vehicle was unsecured.

2:56 p.m. – Louis Anthony Carreiro, 52, cited for possession of and consuming alcohol in a public place, 13th and Kalmia. Caller had reported transients, a larger group than normal, cussing and screaming.

3:33 p.m. – Caller reported a dog at large, Grape Court. Officer unable to locate.

4:51 p.m. – Caller brought a lost dog to the Police Department from 14th Avenue. Dog placed in kennel.

4:55 p.m. – Caller reported a black and brown chihuahua running around, 13th and Long. Officer unable to catch dog.

5:29 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle passing other vehicles in the turn lane on Highway 20 heading into Sweet Home. Officer initiated a traffic stop. The driver had consumed alcohol. Officer performed field sobriety tests. Driver did not show signs of impairment. Officer sternly warned the driver for his behavior.

10:07 p.m. – Gregory Clifford Davis, 18, cited for driving uninsured, Mountain View near Jefferson.

May 26

8:57 a.m. – Caller reported a vehicle left in parking lot, 4231 Long St., Harvest Christian Center. Another vehicle pulled in, and subjects egged the vehicle. The youth pastor had a photo of those egging the vehicle. Officer talked to all involved. It was high school students pranking each other. Caller requested the mess be cleaned up. The students were to take care of it.

9:21 a.m. – Caller reported finding a phone in the parking lot, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Placed in found property.

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported that a neighbor has four aggressive dogs running loose at the Water Treatment Plant, 1500 block of 47th. Owner warned for dog at large.

10:13 a.m. – Michael Dashawn Ferebee, 36, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of first-degree burglary, 4610 Main St. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11:32 a.m. – Caller reported a black dog scratching at the caller’s front door, 1800 block of Tamarack. Dog transported to kennel at Sweet Home Police Department. Animal Control advised.

12:18 p.m. – Caller reported that it looked like a windshield had been shot out of a vehicle, Sweet Home Sanitation yard. Report taken. Damage estimated at $300.

4:17 p.m. – Vincent Sears Wells, 36, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of third-degree theft, 2210 Main St. Cited and released.

4:39 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 2200 block of Long. Referred to code enforcement.

4:57 p.m. – Caller reported that someone stole her phone, destroyed it and returned it to her later, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Report taken.

5:15 p.m. – Caller reported being a victim of identity theft, 500 block of Mountain View. Report taken.

7:44 p.m. – Jennifer Kaye Hoover, 24, arrested for probation violation, 4426 Live Oak. Transported to Linn County Jail.

May 25

1:37 a.m. – Eugene James May, 42, arrested on Polk County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of first-degree theft and possession of a stolen vehicle, 2405 Main St., Circle K. Transported to Linn County Jail.

7:01 a.m. – Caller reported that a male was acting strange at Holley Market. He hit the statue out front and then went into the store and was banging on the counter. He left in a vehicle. Deputies were unable to locate him.

7:45 a.m. – Caller on playground duty reported that the past two mornings a subject on a motorized wheelchair-scooter had been sitting outside the fence to the playground staring at the children until he sees the caller and then leaves south on 35th Avenue, 3205 Long St., Hawthorne Elementary School. Officer contacted the person, who lives in the neighborhood and was out and about that morning and had watched to watch the children.

9:19 a.m. – Jacob Mitchell Thurber, 24, arrested for driving under the influence and Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of failure to register as a sex offender and cited for no license, Highway 20 east from the 2400 block.

10:12 a.m. – Terry Lynn Ballweber, 52, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree theft, Lebanon. Cited and released.

2:17 p.m. – Caller reported a gun was donated in a bin from a donation box in Brownsville, 1762 Main St., Goodwill. Caller did not know whether it was a real gun. Officer responded and identified pellet guns. Pellet guns would be destroyed by organization following its procedures.

2:44 p.m. – Caller reported a Jack Russell terrier running loose, 1300 block of 53rd. Officer secured dog in a yard.

3:37 p.m. – Caller reported a package was open and items were missing when it was delivered, 1300 block of Westwood. Report taken.

4:15 p.m. – Timothy Ray Holley, 37, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

4:42 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 900 block of 23rd. Referred to code enforcement officer.

4:59 p.m. – Travis King Melton, 42, cited for dog at large, 1371 13th Ave.

8:24 p.m. – Caller reported a crash, Pleasant Valley Bridge.

8:53 p.m. – Richard Francis Burnside Jr., 25, arrested on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of third-degree theft, 3137 Main St. Cited and released.

11:09 p.m. – Matthew Charles Nill, 32, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on on two original charges of third-degree theft, Salem. Cited and released.

May 24

12:21 a.m. – Casey Andrew Pryor, 36, arrested for driving under the influence, 18th and Grape Court. Cited and released. Vehicle impounded. Caller had reported a white pickup hitting a parked vehicle.

7:20 a.m. – Caller reported a dog at large, and he had a photo or video of the dog, 1000 block of North River.

11 a.m. – Kevin Webster signed a citation against three juvenile females who failed to obey a traffic control device, crossing in front of him on a green light, 15th and Main.

11:18 a.m. – Caller reported a panhandler blocking the back entrance to the Post Office, 1303 Long St. Officer contacted and sent the subject on his way.

12:51 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office located a pickup stolen from Sweet Home that had been driven off a cliff, Marks Ridge.

2:28 p.m. – Christine Nicole Killian, 30, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of fraudulent use of a credit card, Corvallis. Cited and released.

2:44 p.m. – Caller reported an iPhone stolen from an employee, 1207 Long St., Lucky’s Deli. A female subject was caught with the iPhone when the owner and staff called it and heard it ring. The caller requested she be trespassed from Mr. Lucky’s and All Star Pizza. Owner of the iPhone did not want to pursue charges.

2:57 p.m. – Caller reported three horses in a field with an electric fence, Ninth and railroad tracks. Referred to code enforcement.

3:27 p.m. – Caller reported two males about 17 or 18 years old coming to her door, Meadowlark and Nandina. They told her they were in a public speaking contest, and they were upset she would not unlock her screen to talk with them face to face. Officer contacted two male subjects selling magazines door to door without a permit. They were advised to cease until obtaining a permit. They were advised to tell anyone else who might be in their group to obtain a permit.

3:59 p.m. – Caller reported chainsaws stolen, 39200 block of Highway 228.

4:15 p.m. – Jodey Lee Marshall, 39, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, 4610 Main St., space 2. Cited and released. Caller had reported subjects fighting for several hours.

7 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle with no plates parked on the street, 41st and Osage. Referred to code enforcement.

7:44 p.m. – Caller reported that a male subject was at Foster Elementary School yelling and being loud. He was possibly drunk and left toward Main Street. Officer responded and located a male subject who advised that he accelerated to get up to the speed limit and didn’t think he yelled at anyone. He was advised of the complaint and told to use caution in the area where he was driving.

8:22 p.m. – Harvey Michael Kapicka, 30, arrested for second-degree disorderly conduct, 1283 44th Ave., space 13. Cited and released. Several callers had reported a disturbance. Officer responded to a verbal argument about family issues.

9:51 p.m. – Caller reported a single-motorcycle crash, 60th and Main. Driver transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Report taken. No citations.

10:18 p.m. – Caller reported a horse in her backyard; she did not know whom it belongs to, 28600 block of Santiam Hwy.

May 23

12:53 p.m. – Caller reported a 19-month-old child was coming to school with “debris” on her. Caller said parents run a marijuana dispensary. A deputy checked the home and it appeared clean and free of visible drug use. One parent thought they may have had some debris on their coat that was stored with the child’s coat. Parents will wash all the child’s clothing and be more careful about it. No crime. Deputy took no further action.

2:49 p.m. – Caller reported subjects living in a camper, 1600 block of 12th. Referred to code enforcement.

6:18 p.m. – Tony Ray Picard, 28, cited on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Jefferson County Jail.

6:57 p.m. – Caller reported a dog running in the street, 2000 block of Long. Officer placed dog in kennel and notified Linn County Animal Control.

6:59 p.m. – Caller reported someone riding an ATV, and it was annoying, 1300 block of Tamarack. Officer notified the owner of the complaint.

11:18 p.m. – Caller reported two males physically fighting, 1200 12th Ave., Chewy’s. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

May 21

10:53 a.m. – Two “toy cars,” one bright yellow, the other orange were in the road causing a traffic hazard, 26700 block of Rowell Hill.

1:20 p.m. – Caller reported a utility trailer was stolen from his residence, 500 block of 43rd. It may have been taken the night before. It was a home-built trailer with a 1972 Ford pickup box valued at $850. Report taken.

May 19

5:39 a.m. – Caller said a pitbull runs at large all the time, 1000 block of Pleasant Valley. He said it is reddish/tan speckled and aggressive. The dog was not at large at the time of the call, so the information was forwarded to Animal Control.

6:10 a.m. – Caller said he poured concrete and set some posts for his fence, 1000 block of North River. The next day he found the posts no longer plumb and cracks in the concrete. He thinks his neighbor moved the posts. The deputy could not prove this and the neighbor denied doing so. Report taken.

2:38 p.m. – In the same dispute as above, the neighbor who was accused of moving the posts said the neighbor who had set the posts made threats against them. The threats were non-specific and so there was no crime. No additional report was taken.

10:15 a.m. – Tonya Whitebird, 39, and Kenith Laster III, 22, arrested for first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trespass, 45900 block of Whiskey Butte. Whitebird cited and released. Laster held on a parole violation out of Polk County. Caler had reported people staying in a foreclosed home.

May 18

12:41 a.m. – Caller said a man crawled through a window in their home, 28100 block of Ridgeway. The man was gone before sheriff’s deputies arrived. The caller did not pursue trespass charges.

6:15 p.m. – Caller thought someone might be trespassing his property, 27700 block of Liberty. He said there was a motorhome behind the residence.

7:18 p.m. – Caller said there was stray dog in her yard, 28600 block of Santiam Hwy. Caller was concerned because it had a choke chain. She was concerned about it getting on the highway.
