8:14 a.m. – Lebanon Police located Kenneth Daniel Helfrich, 39, on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of two counts of criminal mischief and criminal trespass. Cited and released.

12:17 p.m. – Cameron Michael Wark, 31, cited and released on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of trespass and theft, and on Linn County warrants for three counts of failure to appear on original charges of possession of meth, and six charges of failure to appear on a criminal citation, Tamarack and 18th

12:23 p.m. – Earl Ryan Dodge, 26, cited for possession of meth, 3100 block of Main. Also cited on a Linn County warrany for failure to appear on original charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and failure to appear on a criminal citation. Cited for driving while suspended, speeding- 61 in a 45, driving uninsured, and failure to use a seatbelt with a child. Vehicle impounded.

5:16 p.m. – Deputy contacted male camping in day-use site in 51000 block Quartzville Road. Advised camper to pack up and move on.

5:17 p.m. – Ryan Joseph Hutchinson, 32, arrested on three Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of criminal mischief and failure to appear on original charges of criminal trespass, Linn County Jail.

9:14 p.m. – Caller reported hearing possible shots and seeing a flash, another caller reported subjects setting off mortars, 2200 block of Main. Officer responded, contacted resident who said she heard the same noise. Stated it occurred every night and believes it is coming from behind the residence. Officer checked area, unable to locate.

10:11 p.m. – Deputy contacted man with “mental health issues” camping near milepost 33 on Highway 20. A caller reported that the man had been flashing lights at a boat anchored nearby. Deputy was present as man cleared camp and left to stay with family. 6300 block Highway 20.

Sept. 7

9:27 a.m. – Caller reported fuel line was cut and fuel stolen, 900 block of Park. Officer responded, report taken for criminal mischief and theft.

9:58 a.m. – Caller reported a theft of a red plastic six-gallon gas tank and fuel during the previous night from a boat moored at Sunnyside Park, 44900 block Quartzville Road. Value estimated at $170. Report taken.

10:27 a.m. – Caller reported her son’s mountain bike riding gear was stolen out of the open bed of their truck while they were camping the previous night at Riverbend Campground, 45900 block Highway 20. Items taken included a Troy Lee Designs full-face youth-size gray/camo/black helmet worth $300, red Fox Racing goggles worth $39, red Fox Racing shin guards worth $69, and a set of light blue Fox Racing gloves worth $35. Items were stored in a black Troy Lee Designs helmet bag. Investigation continuing. Report taken.

11:01 a.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office cited MaCayla Marie Jimenez, 24, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on two charges of theft and one charge of theft by receiving.

11:06 a.m. – Eugene Police cited Colby James Decleve, 26, on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on two original charges of theft and one charge of false info to police.

12:14 p.m. Caller reported a male set a large fire on property and threatened to burn down the house, 1100 block of 55th. Officer responded, assisted fire department.

1:13 p.m. – Deputy assisted Oregon Department of Forestry personnel in issuing citation to “hostile male” for a campfire made during the previous night under extreme fire danger conditions, 41900 block North River Drive. Michael Erickson was issued citation without further incident.

2:33 p.m. – Caller reported a female was caught stealing, 621 Main, Thriftway. Officer responded, Gaylynn Estep, 50, cited for theft and cited on Lebanon warrants for failure to appear on a criminal citation and trespassing.

3:53 p.m. – Dillon White, 25, of Crawfordsville, arrested for domestic physical harassment., 38500 block Highway 228. Report taken.

6:04 p.m. – Caller reported white 1991 Acura Legend stolen in 44700 block Quartzville Road, just before the second bridge, between 6:30 p.m. on previous day and 5 p.m. on Sept. 7. Suspects unknown. Report taken.

6:14 p.m. – Callers reported a tree down at location, 49th and Main. officer responded, cleared most debris from roadway, public works advised.

6:31 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s reported downed line, 6000 block of Main. Officer responded with ODF, unable to locate downed lines.

6:54 p.m. – Officer saw large flash – possible blown transformer, 200 block of Main. Resident at location put out a small fire with a garden hose, fire district on scene taking over.

7:30 p.m. – Caller reported power line sparking, 1200 block of 47th. Officer responded, branches sparking on transformer, fire district took over.

7:48 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff Office called in small fire at location, Shea Point. Officer responded, tree on power line, no fire.

8:33 p.m. – LCSO reported traffic around a fire at 35th and Long. Officer responded, residents advised, not wanting to leave, fire district on scene.

8:50 p.m. – Caller reported tree down blocking lanes, Locust and Wiley Creek. Officers busy on other calls, public works advised.

10:19 p.m. – Caller reported power pole sparking, 9th and Main. Officer responded, did not see sparks, caller advised to call back if anything changes.

Sept. 8

12:40 a.m. – Caller reported she just got home and the door is open. Officer responded, checked residence, no sign of forced entry-weather related.

1:38 a.m. – Caller reported fire and downed lines on 1400 block of 47th. Officer responded, assisted getting fire under control, SFHD stayed on scene.

4:46 a.m. – LCSO radio said there’s a fire at milepost 35 of Highway 20. Officer responded, assisted, fire and ODF handling fire.

6:59 a.m. – Downed tree on 18th and Willow. Notified public works.

7:39 a.m. – Caller had mini kid’s scooters stolen the night before last and two scooters stolen last night, 1500 block of 9th. Caller going to look for them. Officer responded, report taken.

8:20 a.m. – Caller reported a pregnant female shooting up heroin, he called her out on it and a male sprayed him with pepper spray, 12th and Redwood. Officer responded, no actual pepper spray used. Verbal only over life choices and relationship issues.

12:34 p.m. – Tree across railway. Albany Eastern Railway notified.

2:08 p.m. – Caller reported blue Goulds three-quarter horsepower irrigation pump stolen, 1300 block 50th Avenue. Value estimated at $599. Report taken.

6:12 p.m. – Phillip Swartz, 33, cited for driving without a license, 1000 block North River Drive/Sunny Valley Lane.

7:34 p.m. – Caller reported juveniles lighting off fireworks, 10th and Elm. Officer responded, mother was actively scolding juveniles on arrival. Officer counseled juveniles on behavior, small firework was lit off, no fire danger.

7:57 p.m. – Caller reported neighbors running power tools on 1500 block of 41st, concern for fire danger. Officer responded, contacted resident who was using a leaf blower to remove debris from roof, no fire danger.

8:09 p.m. – Multiple callers report neighbor using chainsaw, concern for fire danger, 22nd and Ulex. Officer responded, contacted resident using chainsaw to clear downed tree from driveway. Advised of complaint, finished for the night.

8:18 p.m. – Caller reported seeing sparks coming from neighbor’s barbecue, Third and Ironwood. Officer responded, observed barbecue, no flames or sparks. Spoke to resident who has someone monitoring the grill. No fire danger at this time.

9:52 p.m. – Stacie Mortenson, 50, cited for driving while suspended, 12th and Osage.

11:24 p.m. – Caller reported people taking items from location, 3031 Main, Sweet Home Gleaners. Officer responded, contacted employees at location who were organizing free pile.

Sept. 9

3:45 a.m. – Albany Police located Chavana Ann Bowser, 28, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.

3:51 a.m. – Corvallis Police located Spencer Dean Borthwich, 26, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of initiating a false report.

4:07 a.m. – Caller reported male screaming at management at the Sun Motel, 3026 Main, threatening to burn the building down. Officer responded, report taken for criminal mischief, will follow up for security footage.

5:10 a.m. – Deputy found lost dog in 29600 block Berlin Road. Taken to Animal Control.

6:27 a.m. – Sanitation driver reported downed cable, 1000 block of Cedar. Officer moved cable so it would not catch on vehicles.

8:25 a.m. – Caller reported items inside have been damaged, Sweet Home Gleaners, 3031 Main. While officer was reviewing security footage with caller, subject showed up. Caller would like to handle herself without law enforcement.

8:31 a.m. – Caller reported a female stole an alcoholic drink on Sunday, 621 Main, Thriftway. Report taken, loss valued at $3.99. Female trespassed, investigation pending.

11:03 a.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Department served Corey Eugene Myers, 36, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal trespass.

12:13 p.m. – Two officers called to assist with evacuations in the Upper Calapooia and Brush Creek area.

2:09 p.m. – Caller reported customer left without paying for $40 worth of fuel, 1309 Main, Chevron. Report taken.

3:23 p.m. – Callers reported a car crash, 800 block of Main. Jered Henderson, 38, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and careless driving causing an accident. Vehicle impounded.

4:13 p.m. – Ryan Hutchinson, 32, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and illegal lane change, 1707 Main, Les Schwab.

5:21 p.m. – Deputy located individual male attempting to loot evacuated area in 25600 block of Rice Road. He was sent away and advised not to return.

5:31 p.m. – Albany Police located Taylor Robert Mespelt on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charges of false info to police and theft.

6:56 p.m. – Ervin Smith, 67, cited for failure to display a valid license, driving uninsured, and no seatbelt.

8:08 p.m. – Clark County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen vehicle bearing license 9W4727.

8:45 p.m. – Stolen vehicle recovered in 43300 block Marks Ridge Drive/Jones Road. No further details in Sheriff’s log.

8:57 p.m. – David Lee Oviatt, 40, arrested for a restraining order violation and criminal mischief, 1100 block of 18th. Lodged at Linn County jail.

9:41 p.m. – Deputies responded to 40300 block of Holley Heights Loop where caller misunderstood the evacuation level for that location. Told deputies contact was unnecessary once the situation was explained.

9:50 p.m. – Lane County residents from Marcola were found in restricted area, 23000 block Brush Creek Road. They were leaving from their residence.

10:16 p.m. – Lane County residents were stopped for being in evacuation area, 39300 block Childers Drive/Brush Creek Road. They were leaving from their family properties.

10:20 p.m. – Deputies contacted residents in 39000 block of Highway 228, who were checking on their property.

10:33 p.m. – Vehicle stopped in 24200 block Brush Creek Road/Childers Drive. They were residents leaving their home in Marcola.

11:02 p.m. – Deputy stopped vehicle in 24200 block Brush Creek Road. Learned occupants were going to retrieve property and a relative from Marcola.

11:28 p.m. – Christian Roach, 26, of Sweet Home, cited and released for probation violation warrant, 26000 block Brush Creek Road.

Sept. 10

6:48 a.m. – Caller reported boyfriend tried to beat her up and put a cigarette out on her neck, 1300 block of Main. Officer responded, report taken for assault.

9:08 a.m. to 2:41 p.m. – Deputy stopped 18 vehicles in Level 3 evacuation area in 24100-24700 blocks of Brush Creek Road. Issued multiple warnings and one citation for failure to obey traffic control device. Some were residents returning to their homes to retrieve belongings. All others were told to leave the area. Further details unavailable.

10:13 a.m. – Caller reported a male walking around looking at things and caller believes this is suspicious, 13th and Nandina. Officer responded, contacted male who was collecting cans.

1:05 p.m. – Robert Oar, 43, stopped on Upper Calapooia/Rice Road and cited for driving while suspended, failure to obey traffic control device and a Lebanon warrant. Report taken.

2:38 p.m. – Caller reported neighbor evacuated and left all their animals behind, 1500 block of Tamarack. Officer responded, animals are not in distress. Left message for female and will continue to follow up.

4:25 p.m. – Caller reported single vehicle rollover, 4800 block of Long. Officer responded, report taken for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

5:41 p.m. – Caller reported shots fired during an armed disturbance in the 45200 block of Wiley Creek Drive. Deputies responded and determined where the shots were fired from. Subjects spoken to. According to a Sheriff’s report, the shooter was reportedly trying to scare off what were believed to be looters. Investigation ongoing. Report taken.

6:16 p.m. – Officer assisted Linn County Sheriff’s Office with patrol in evacuated area, Upper Calapooia.

6:32 p.m. – Officer cited and released Matthew Wood, 29, on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of meth possession and a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of harassment, 1540 Main, Safeway.

8:12 p.m. – Oregon State Police cited Tony William Fitzwater, 53, on a Sweet Home warrant for harassment.

8:35 p.m. – Stacie Mortenson, 50, cited for driving while suspended and failure to carry proof of insurance, 700 block of Long.

8:43 p.m. – Two callers reported a male in a silver vehicle threw a bottle in the roadway and almost hit their mother, then took off, 54th and Main. Officer responded, Craig Edgmand, 40, cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

11:23 p.m. – Mandy House, 36, cited and released on a Linn County warrant for a parole violation and a Lebanon warrant for false info to police, 18th and Tamarack.

Sept. 11

12:38 a.m. – Ryan Sechrest, 33, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and illegal alteration to a license plate, 10th and Dogwood. Validation stickers seized.

2:51 a.m. – Caller reported male riding around on a skateboard with bags of cans, believes he is stealing them, 44th and Airport. Officer responded, contacted male who said he took two bags of cans from a residence and the other bags he got from his cousin. Officer returned two bags to the residence, male’s parole officer advised of contact.

3:12 a.m. – Lane County Sheriff’s Office located Derrick James Freeman, 24, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of theft.

3:41 a.m. – Anthony Holden, 30, cited and released on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of theft, Main and McQueen. Casey Stradley cited and released for possession of meth and driving while suspended, as well as a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation for meth possession and a nAlbany warrant for theft.

9:58 a.m. – Caller reported neighbor’s chickens and turkeys are loose, 17th and Cedar. Officer responded, left business card. Animals are not in roadway, but unable to get them back onto their property.

10:47 a.m. – Caller reported vehicle may have been unlawfully entered last night and purse stolen, 500 block of 4th. Officer took report over phone for unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and theft.

12:12 p.m. – Caller reported 2018 Rice 20-foot dove-tail trailer stolen, 25100 block Brush Creek Road. Valued at $5,000. Report taken.

12:50 p.m. – Caller reported a motorcycle believed to be going behind locked gates in 43000 block Marks Ridge Drive during high fire danger. Emailed photo to Sheriff’s Office. Just wanted to pass on the information.

12:58 p.m. – Adam Dunn, 40, cited for second-degree criminal trespass, 27400 block Scott Mountain Road. Report taken.

1:59 p.m. – Caller reported amplifier stolen from Foster Lake marina, 1400 block 60th Avenue. Value estimated at $1,000. Report taken.

3:02 p.m. – Caller reported two suspicious vehicles in 41500 block of Upper Calapooia Drive. Deputy located both vehicles and issued citations for use of through-way when prohibited, but further details were unavailable at press time. Both were told to leave the area immediately.

3:35 p.m. – Caller requested an officer serve a restraining order on their brother, 1100 block of 55th. Wayland Porter, 60, cited and released on a Linn County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of criminal trespass, unlawful cutting of forest products, and Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of telephonic harassment and harassment. Restraining order served.

4:01 p.m. – Christopher Linder, 48, of Sweet Home, arrested for first-degree theft after deputies recovered $500 worth of camping equipment, which was returned to owner. 1400 block 60th Avenue. Report taken.

4:48 p.m. – Oregon State Police served Katrina Marie Tenbusch, 40, a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of theft.

5:11 p.m. – Caller reported $200 stereo face plate stolen at Foster Lake marina, 1400 block 60th Avenue. Report taken.

5:20 p.m. – Caller reported $700 boat cover damaged at Foster Lake marina, 1400 block 60th Ave-nue. Report taken.

5:27 p.m. – Caller reported $1,000 amplifier, $200 key stolen at Foster Lake marina, 1400 block 60th Avenue. Report taken.

5:59 p.m. – Corvallis Police served Jimmie Lee Barton, 47, a Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.

7:37 p.m. – Shelly Marie Taylor, 37, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 3100 block of Main.

7:45 p.m. – Caller reported his wife was yelling and breaking things again, 4600 block of Main. Caller, Jason Dale Avery, 28, cited and released on a Lebanon warrant for a parole violation.

7:50 p.m. – Deputies escorted male off private timber property. Warned him for trespassing. 45800 block Sunnyside Road.

9:06 p.m. – Oregon State Police cited Bill Joe Richardson, 54, for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal mischief.

Sept. 12

10:02 a.m. – Civil dispute turned into an argument and threats of violence, 28600 block Jones Road. Deputies responded and de-escalated the situation, which was resolved civilly.

12:30 p.m. – Caller requested officer serve a restraining order. John Scott II, 30, arrested on an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for a parole violation; Linn County warrants for possession of heroin and possession of a restricted weapon; a Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a charge of resisting arrest; and a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of escape. Lodged at Linn County Jail.

1:56 p.m. – Caller reported suspicious males heading towards fire, 41700 block Upper Calapooia Drive. They were media taking pictures.

2:51 p.m. – Vehicle in 44600 block North River Drive was towed because it was parked on the edge of the roadway, on a blind corner.

3:57 p.m. – Deputies stopped a vehicle on CTC property, just past the gate on Big Wiley in the 47900 block of Calapooia Drive. Occupants said they were tired of being cooped up and wanted to drive around. Warned for trespassing.

4:14 p.m. – Thomas Verelley, 66, of Sweet Home, cited for trespassing after a caller reported him walking past “clearly posted signs” indicating the property was closed due to extreme fire danger. 41900 block Marks Ridge Drive.

4:29 a.m. – Caller reported white vehicle at location with door open, Strawberry Park. Officer responded, contacted female who stated she doesn’t have anywhere to stay. She will be moving along.

1:47 p.m. – Caller reported someone broke into her house and stole her gun safe, 300 block of Juniper. Officer responded, report taken for violation of release agreement. Evidence shows no burglary.

2:18 p.m. – Caller reported a counterfeit bill, 1306 Main, Main Street Market. Report taken for forgery.

5:31 p.m. – A small bridge was located on County Line Road from the 23400 block of Brush Creek Road, on BLM land. It was being used by ATV/side-by-sides to cross a tank trap. The bridge was dismantled and a sign posted denying access to motor vehicles.

5:32 p.m. – Oregon State Police served Tracy Neal Hayes, 54, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of criminal trespass.

6:30 p.m. – Officer assisted LCSO with patrol in evacuated area, Upper Calapooia.

7:15 p.m. – Christopher Tuke, 37, of Lebanon, and Michael Cox, 58, of Albany, arrested for second-degree criminal trespass after driving down a long residential driveway, looking for a place to hunt. 29000 block Highway 20. The two were later cited for the same offense, at 7:42 p.m., in the 28900 block of Sodaville Mountain Home Road.

7:34 p.m. – Deputy warned vehicle operator for unsignaled turn and advised them to leave Level 3 evacuation zone immediately. Vehicle operator was not a resident. 24800 block Brush Creek Road.

7:38 p.m. – Sherry Thein, 51, and Sherriah Thein, 18, cities of residence not listed, cited for use of a through-way when prohibited after driving within an area closed to traffic due to an active forest fire. Sherriah Thein also cited for careless driving and failure to signal turn.

8:32 p.m. – Caller reported a female sitting outside neighbor’s residence for 30 minutes, 1700 block of Fir. Officer responded, contacted female who has moved along. Leslie Renee Maynard, 47, cited and released on Albany warrants for criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and unnecessary noise.

8:41 p.m. – Caller reported an intoxicated male in the parking lot making inappropriate comments. Then took off his shirt and punched a vehicle. Officer responded, male is intoxicated but able to talk on his own, will be leaving area. Officer unable to locate damage on vehicle.

8:45 p.m. – Caller reported a male attacked her and tried to steal her purse, 1501 Main, Speedee Mart. Officer responded, report taken, will contact business for security footage.

10:35 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office located Shelby Keith Brigham, 54, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

Sept. 13

9:09 a.m. – Deputies performed extra patrol on closed road, 40000 block Upper Calapooia Drive/Highway 228, as multiple individuals were returning to their homes to retrieve belongings.

9:41 a.m. – Caller reported a male and female sleeping in the covered bridge at Clover Park. Officer responded, gone on arrival.

1:04 p.m. – Linn County Sheriff’s Office served Austin Wayne Sater, 31, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of disorderly conduct.

2:33 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor using the fire hydrant to water their lawn, 4600 block of Kalmia. Officer responded, resident warned for her behavior and advised to obtain a permit if she wishes to continue using the hydrant.

3 p.m. – Deputy patrolled area of West Brush Creek fire – Timber, Shotgun Creek, Seeley Creek roads, and arranged for road closure at end of West Brush Creek Road to restrict traffic from the scene, as well as Timber Road access from Courtney Creek.

4:44 p.m. – Deputy encountered male driving up Timber Road near 25000 block Brush Creek/West Brush Creek. He was advised to turn around as Linn County Road Department was en route to close all access points to the area.

7:11 p.m. – Caller reported tent stolen at location, 1907 Willow. Officer responded, report taken for theft and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle. Approximate loss value of $150. Tent recovered on nearby property.

9:21 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle ran into her fence sometime last night, 1800 Vine. Report taken.

10:30 p.m. – Lebanon Police located Peggy Lynn Gibson, 48, on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of theft.
