May 21

1:14 a.m. – Travis Gary Hummer, 32, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended, Albany. Cited and released.

May 20

8:41 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke a window out of his vehicle, 1200 block of Wiley Creek. Report taken.

11:22 a.m. – Caller reported a large amount of cash found at Safeway, 1540 Main St. Property seized for safekeeping.

5:15 p.m. – Caller reported a large bag in the creek and it looked like a body, Napa parking lot. Officer located a sleeping bag.

6:44 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious person, 44200 block of Highway 20. Deputy responded and located a female enjoying the nice weather and walking to California east of Sweet Home.

7:42 p.m. – Derrick James Freeman, 21, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree theft.

9:04 p.m. – Jimmy Brown, 35, cited for careless driving with injury, driving while suspended and no insurance after his vehicle crashed in the 29000 block of Santiam Terrace Road.

10 p.m. – Caller found a wallet in a roadway, Holley and 1st. Placed in found property.

May 19

1:59 a.m. – Donna Ashley Claxton (Lyons), 25, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Cited and released. Caller had reported a young female flailing around on the ground.

7:30 a.m. – A deputy assisted a man whose vehicle was having engine problems, 44600 block of Quartzville. Deputy helped him devise a temporary fix so he could drive to an auto parts store in Sweet Home. Deputy followed the man in case the engine failed again. He made it to the store. During a patrol of the area, deputy also saw a bear cub near two groups of campers and advised the campers that a mother bear was likely in the area.

10:12 p.m. – Single-vehicle crash, 45000 block of Quartzville. No injuries. No citations.

10:58 a.m. – Caller reported a dog running loose, 4800 block of Main. Dog returned to owner.

12:05 p.m. – Caller found a dog, 18th and Long. Placed in kennel. Animal Control notified.

12:39 p.m. – Anna Rochelle House, 34, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:27 p.m. – Caller found a dog, 1100 block of 12th. Dog held in kennel until owner picked it up.

11:08 p.m. – Roxanne Bode, 44, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Yamhill County. Cited and released.

May 18

12:47 a.m. – Laryssa Jean Cox, 28, arrested on Lebanon warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation and contempt of court, Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of heroin and a criminal citation, Lebanon Justice Court warrant for failure to appear on a criminal citation and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of disorderly conduct, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Cited and released.

12:56 a.m. – Caller walked into the Police Department with a head injury, 1950 Main St. Male did not want to make a report. He said an acorn hit him. Medics transported him to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

8:26 a.m. – Caller found marijuana in a teenager’s backpack, 41800 block of Marks Ridge. Report taken.

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported tall grass, 1200 block of 41st. Referred to code enforcement.

9:42 a.m. – Joshua Paul Eli, 30, arrested for third-degree theft, driving under the influence, recklessly endangering another person, misdemeanor driving while suspended, Lane County warrant for failure to appear and Lebanon warrant for contempt of court on original charge of recklesly endangering another person and cited for refusing a breath test, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:24 a.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into Public Works Maintenance, 1400 24th Ave. Report taken. Investigation continuing.

1:04 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious male on campus, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Male left prior to call. Officers remained on the lookout.

1:06 p.m. – A 16-year-old subject referred to Juvenile Department for minor in possession of marijuana, minor in possession of tobacco and tampering with physical evidence, 1641 Long St., Sweet Home High School. Caller had reported a student in possession of a marijuana pipe and cigarettes. Subject fled from staff but returned after officer arrived.

1:26 p.m. – Caller reported that someone broke into his RV, 4100 block of Main. Report taken.

1:35 p.m. – Caller reported that a subject had several shopping carts belonging to Thriftway, 1500 block of 9th. Items recovered. Subject trespassed from Thriftway.

3:12 p.m. – Caller was scammed through the Internet, 2000 block of Long. The victim sent a money order to Charlotte, N.C. Report to be forwarded to Charlotte police.

3:21 p.m. – Caller reported that a female, against whom he has a restraining order, texted him, 4500 block of Live Oak. Information noted.

4:40 p.m. – Caller reported that another RV was moved into a location where other people were living in another motor home and RV, 42nd and Osage. Officer contacted the owner, who had a permit to live in it. Another showed up when a relative arrived to show off a new purchase.

4:48 p.m. – Caller reported his home was entered and items taken, 28600 block of Ridgeway. Report taken.

4:52 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor throwing cut branches on her property, 1200 block of 45th. Officer assisted in mediating the situation.

6:27 p.m. – Priscilla Vanderark, 42, cited and released on a Sweet Home warrant for contempt of court on original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, 38300 block of Crawfordsville Drive.

7:08 p.m. – Caller reported a suspicious white substance covering mail drop boxes. The substance had signs drawn into it. Officer responded. It appeared to be salt, and a nearby business agreed to clean it up.

9:28 a.m. – Two callers reported owners were not home and the dogs were constantly barking, 300 block of 7th. Officer contacted and advised owner of the complaint.

10:06 p.m. – Caller reported an unconscious person in the street, 1100 block of 23rd. Male transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

May 17

12:59 a.m. – Caller reported hearing possible fireworks, 12th and railroad tracks. Officer located a tree that had fallen onto the tracks. Dispatch advised Albany & Eastern Railroad.

7:36 a.m. – Caller reported fuel siphoned from multiple vehicles, 43300 block of Ames Creek Road. Report taken.

7:53 a.m. – Two-vehicle collision, 3041 Main St., Hoy’s Hardware. No injuries. No citations. Parties exchanged information.

10:50 a.m. – Angela Elizabeth Wood, 31, arrested on Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of meth, providing false information to a police officer and third-degree theft, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Transported to Linn County Jail.

11:09 a.m. – Caller reported that someone entered her vehicle and took a knit shirt and a car key valued at $50, 30100 block of Highway 20. Report taken.

11:44 a.m. – Caller reported that neighbors are gone all day and their two dogs bark from early morning, waking up the caller, throughout the day, 300 block of 7th. Officer contacted and advised the owner of the dogs of the complaint. He said he would try to keep them quiet.

12:19 p.m. – Bryce Taylor Keenon, 21, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charges of possession of meth, failure to appear, identity theft and possession of a forged instrument and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply and failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, 1980 Main St., Bi-Mart. Transported to Linn County Jail.

1:23 p.m. – Caller reported the theft of $200 worth of tires, 1100 block of 4th.

4:22 p.m. – George Josef Drexler, 43, served by Lebanon police on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Lebanon.

4:56 p.m. – Josiah Michael Vanamburgh, 39, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of failure to report as a sex offender, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

5:39 p.m. – Caller found a dog running loose by Les Schwab. Dog placed in kennel.

5:52 p.m. – Caller reported an alarm was going off and a male was running down the street with a flat screen TV, 800 block of Long. Officer responded. Unable to locate. Officer checked video surveillance. The subject did not come from the location and was not in a hurry. It did not appear to be criminal. Information noted.

6:12 p.m. – Kent Allen Vannorsdall, 25, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle,

Prineville.

6:52 p.m. – Nathan Allen Oliver Deffenbaugh, 41, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to appear on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany.

9:44 p.m. – Multiple callers reported fireworks in the area, 2nd and Holley Road. Officer unable to locate.

10:31 p.m. – Caller reported her son didn’t come from school, 1100 block of Poplar. Fifteen-year-old male signed as a runaway.

10:51 p.m. – Peter Robert Piazza Sr., 34, cited for driving while suspended, Main and 42nd.

11:24 p.m. – Amanda June Herbert, 29, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, Albany. Cited and released.

May 16

5:09 p.m. – Daniel Joseph Browand, 24, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

7:03 a.m. – Caller reported that a dog had been barking for hours, 1700 block of 53rd. Officer located the dog and played fetch. The dog quieted down.

7:13 a.m. – Caller reported a dog barking for about an hour, 300 block of 7th. Officer responded and observed the area for about 20 minutes. Dog barked when people walked by. No one was home. Officer left business card.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported a theft from a business account, 1203 Long St., All-Star Pizza. Report taken. Loss valued at $7,511.15. Investigation continuing.

10:44 a.m. – Lynette Irene Johnson, 39, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and switched plates, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

11:14 a.m. – Caller reported his truck stolen, 3100 block of Main.

12:03 p.m. – Frank Joseph Coelho, 62, cited and released in field on a Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of driving under the influence, Mobile fuel station. Coelho also cited for no valid license and failure to display plates.

12:03 p.m. – Deputy warned a female for camping in the 44200 block of Highway 20. She claimed her vehicle had broken down and she would get it fixed and moving as soon as possible.

1:15 p.m. – Officers located a stolen vehicle, 2200 block of Long.

1:22 p.m. – Caller reported a dog almost hit in the roadway, Highway 20 at the west city limits. Officer unable to locate.

3:29 p.m. – Caller reported a dog sounded like it was in distress, 300 block of 9th. Officer contacted the owner of the dog. The dog was in a kennel and not happy. Officer advised owner of complaint.

3:40 p.m. – Caller reported that a subject fixes and pressure washes log trucks from sun up to sun down, 4900 block of Nandina. Officer responded. The male was not home. Officer left message for the male to call.

3:43 p.m. – Caller reported multiple properties on Nandina off 47th have tall grass. Letters to be mailed.

3:47 p.m. – Steven Dean Fox, 25, cited for driving while suspended and switched plates, 13th and Main. Plates seized.

4:08 p.m. – Caller reported a black Honda with no windshield, 18th and Main. Officer checked from 18th Avenue to west city limits. Unable to locate.

4:40 p.m. – Caller found sunglasses in the female restroom, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Placed in found property.

5:02 p.m. – Caller reported a truck driving around with children walking around in the bed of the truck, Kalmia St. Officer unable to locate.

5:27 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s 3-year-old squirted her with a water gun when she got home, 1530 Tamarack St., Mountain Shadows. Officer responded and attempted to mediate the situation.

5:35 p.m. – Caller found a bicycle along the side of the road between 53rd and 54th. Placed in found property.

5:54 p.m. – Caller found a bicycle in a yard, 1300 block of Nandina. Placed in found property.

9:18 p.m. – Caller reported what sounded like gunshots in the area, 1200 block of 2nd. At about 11 p.m., four additional callers reported hearing gunshots in the area. Officer unable to locate gunshots or fireworks.

11:54 p.m. – Angela Dianne May, 40, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

May 15

6:14 a.m. – Caller reported a large dog in the roadway, Highway 20 at the west city limits. Officer delayed by another call. Unable to locate the dog upon arrival.

6:19 a.m. – Caller reported a motorcycle crash, Mountain View and Ames Creek. Operator deceased. Report taken.

12:23 p.m. – Caller reported his credit card had been used on iTunes, 100 block of 10th. Information noted.

2:03 p.m. – Caller reported people moved into an old RV, 20th and Willow. Referred to code enforcement.

3:30 p.m. – Michael Ralph Marshall Jr., 35, and Amanda Rae Stafford, 42, cited for unnecessary noise, 3101 Long St.

4:10 p.m. – Daniel Lee Adams, 47, turned in himself on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

4:54 p.m. – Caller reported a neighbor’s dogs were out and chased the caller’s cats, 1200 block of 41st. Officer contacted both parties and counseled the dog owner.

6:13 p.m. – James David Hackworth, 21, cited and released in field on Linn County warrant for unauthorized departure, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

10:10 p.m. – Caller reported an overdose, 1100 block of 18th. Patient transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

11:47 p.m. – Aron Johan Van Dijk, 35, cited and released in field on Lebanon warrant for contempt of court and probation violation on original charge of driving while suspended and cited for driving while suspended, 1st and Main. Caller had reported a white SUV parked for more than 15 minutes with its headlights on. It appeared someone was leaning over the steering wheel.

May 14

8:18 a.m. – Caller reported a drill stolen from the thrift store, 3031 Main St., Sweet Home Gleaners. Report taken. Loss valued at $80.

9:06 a.m. – Caller reported two dogs were just hit by a log truck, 22nd and Main. Law enforcement not needed. Parties handled the situation, and the dog owner was en route to the vet with an animal.

10:22 a.m. – Police officer located a suspicious male walking around the high school grounds, 1641 Long St. Officer contacted the male, who said he just needed to use the restroom. Male trespassed from location.

11:26 a.m. – Camil Dawn Varner, 29, cited and released in field on Linn County Justice Court warrant for contempt of court, 20th and Willow.

12:15 p.m. – Caller reported a person living in a camper, 2200 block of Larch. Officer contacted a female who advised that she is working on the house and staying in the trailer until the job is done.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported tall weeds and grass, 1200 block of 40th. Officer contacted homeowner, who planned to take care of the lawn the next day.

1:03 p.m. – Caller reported that a stray dog ran up to a small girl and bit her, 5500 block of Quince. Nearby residents caught the dog. Officer unable to locate the bitten child. Dog placed in kennel, and Animal Control notified.

2:20 p.m. – Jacob Mitchell Thurber, 26, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, Albany. Cited and released.

4:11 p.m. – Caller turned in a set of house keys with “Miranda” key chains, Lake Shore Park, Foster Lake off Foster Dam Road. Placed in found property.

9:51 p.m. – Caller reported a theft, 1900 block of Main. Report taken.
