12:10 p.m. – Sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen vehicle for Tualatin Police Department, 49200 block Hwy. 20. Report taken.
1:23 p.m. – Caller reported a vandalized car, Sweet Home High School, 1641 Long St. Officer responded; a report was taken for first-degree criminal mischief. Approximate cost of damages: $1,500.
7:17 p.m. – Donald Joe Nave Jr., 50, was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants and driving with a suspended license, 1800 block of Main St.
September 28
8:19 a.m. – Brandon James Thomason, 35, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.
11:32 a.m. – Caller reported a non-injury motor vehicle crash at location, Hwy. 228/Main St. Joseph Tenbusch cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and driving uninsured.
1:55 p.m. – Recovered stolen vehicle returned to owner, 42500 block of Marks Ridge Drive. The vehicle, a black Honda CRV, was spotted in the brush by a passerby after it was stolen from Albany. Report taken.
2:56 p.m. – Juvenile accidentally called 9-1-1, got scared and hung up when Sheriff’s Dispatch called back. Parent was to have a discussion with the juvenile on what to do in the future if that happened again.
4:41 p.m. – Charles Daniel Coats Jr., 35, of Albany, was arrested on contempt of court warrant after deputy checked on vehicle parked along the side of road in 43800 block of North River Drive. Report taken.
September 29
7:58 a.m. – Deputy found gate pulled open in 45100 block Sunny-side Road, though lock was still attached. Deputy concluded it appeared a transient had been sleeping in the area.
9:31 a.m. – Deputy walked property in the 46000 block of Hwy. 20 after finding a gate locked. Attorney for the property owner said the property should be vacant. Deputy did not find anyone on the property, but notified the owner’s attorney of a “mystery lock.”
11:50 a.m. – Deputy contacted a man who had parked a green and white homemade travel trailer on the north side of Foster Dam. Owner said he would be moving the trailer by the following day and displayed a full bag of trash he had collected around the area. He was warned for parking overnight.
12:03 p.m. – Miguel Alfredo Gutierrez, 38, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of giving false information to a police officer, Albany Police Department.
1:53 p.m. – Deputies took a report of possible theft in the 40900 block of Hwy. 228. Victim was trying to determine if any property was missing.
2:29 p.m. – Deputies contacted people camping along the roadside after a report of illegal camping in 44500 block North River Road. The campers were told they could not camp there.
2:42 p.m. – Jennifer Ann Martin, 44, was arrested for failure to comply on an original charge of third-degree theft, Oregon State Police.
2:52 p.m. – David Paul Gruwell, 55, was cited and released on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for first-degree criminal trespass, 1540 Main St.
3:04 p.m. – Alexis Morgan Bowers, 21, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second-degree theft. 1950 Main St.
3:55 p.m. – Caller reported hit-and-run damage to his vehicle while it was parked at Gedney Creek Boat Ramp, 43700 block North River Drive. Vehicle struck was white GMC Sierra. Damage occurred Sept. 26, between 1:30 and 6:45 p.m. No suspects. Report taken.
4:48 p.m. – Caller reported a collision with a parked vehicle, 1000 block of Long St. Franklin Luster Cutbirth, 40, was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving uninsured and careless driving. Cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief.
10:53 p.m. – Steven Dale Myers was cited for no valid operator’s license, 7/11.
September 30
5:55 a.m. – Sophie Rose Huss, 23, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal warrant for theft of services, Oregon State Police.
2:18 p.m. – Caller into police department to turn in bike frame found at location, Wiley Creek Park. Item placed in Property.
7:27 p.m. – Caller reported canvas hunting blind, heater stolen from his property in the 38400 block of Crawfordsville Drive. Report taken.
8:33 p.m. – Brandy Lee Dozier, 36, was arrested on an Albany Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving with a suspended license, Albany Police Department.
October 1
3:41 a.m. – Machaelray Jensen, 40, was cited and released on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal trespass and failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree criminal mischief, 43rd Ave./Airport Road.
9:42 a.m. – Merlin Hatch, 54, of Sweet Home, was arrested for violation of restraining order, resisting arrest and four counts of menacing, 28300 block of Hwy. 20. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hatch had an active restraining order restricting him from being at the location. He refused to cooperate with deputies, threatening them with a knife, saying he was going to shed their blood and break their necks. He refused to be taken into custody and wanted to fight deputies. “Deputies showed a lot of restraint and ended up using less-than-lethal options to solve a tense situation,” said Sheriff’s Lt. 11:45 a.m. – Three chainsaws were stolen off engines parked in compound, 4690 Main St. Report taken for unauthorized entry into motor vehicle X2 and first-degree theft. Approximate value: $4,200.
12:08 p.m. – Caller involved in a motor vehicle crash at location, Main St./42nd Ave. Both vehicles moved from the roadway into a parking lot. David Allen Stoddard, 26, was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
9:08 p.m. – Michael Dashawn Ferebee, 42, was cited and released on a Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of second degree disorderly conduct, 4600 block of Main St.
October 2
3:21 a.m. – Andrew James Freitag, 20, was arrested on an Albany Police Department warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of second-degree criminal mischief, Albany Police Department.
9:26 a.m. – Dan’l Benjamin Hale, 37, was cited and released on a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court, 1950 Main St. Sweet Home Police Department.
10:50 a.m. – Caller reported storage shed was entered, tools stolen, 42300 block of Bennett Lane. Missing was a gray plastic toolbox containing Craftsman sockets. Value estimated at $170. Report taken.
11:22 a.m. – Caller brought in a debit card found at the Wells Fargo ATM, 520 Main St. The item was placed in a dropbox.
1:34 p.m. – Caller reported a purse found in the 1100 block of 13th Ave. Officer responded; property was seized.
3:02 p.m. – Caller reported two males fighting and a young female sitting in a vehicle, 4820 block of Main St. Officer responded. Daniel James Lutton, 49, was cited and released for harassment.
5:21 p.m. – Amy Roseanne Phillips, 25, was cited for driving with a suspended license, speeding 51/35, and an unsignaled turn in the 900 block of Main St., Town Pump.
7:12 p.m. – Caller reported he was assaulted by a neighbor with a stick. Deputy contacted everyone involved, investigation continuing. No lasting injuries reported. 43700 block of Wiley Creek Drive. Report taken.
8:37 p.m. – Caller found a key in the road, 15th Ave.Main St. Placed in Property.
October 3
12:18 a.m. – Nicole Darlene Apalategui, 34, was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and reckless endangering, 10th Ave./Long St.
7:35 a.m. – Deputy responded to Campbell-Global property, in the 45200 block of Wiley Creek Drive, regarding two damaged gates. Later in the morning discovered others that had been damaged and left standing open. Several hunting groups were contacted and told to leave the property. Under investigation.
7:47 p.m. – Travis Hummer, 35, of Sweet Home, was arrested for criminal trespass and for active warrants, 28200 block of Jones Drive. Transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken.
11 p.m. – Linda Evelene Kennedy, 31, was arrested on a Sweet Home Municipal warrant for failure to comply on an original charge of unlawful purchasing of a firearm, Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
