Sweet Home High School students and staff donned pink ribbons and clothing Thursday to support math teacher Melissa Klumph, who is battling breast cancer. Klumph, 30, who is wearing the tie-dyed shirt directly beneath the balloons is undergoing acupuncture and chemotherapy treatments on Thursdays and Fridays each week. Her father, Terrence Sime of Prineville, at far left, himself a retired math teacher, is standing in for her on those days as a substitute. Students and school staff say they plan to continue wearing pink on Thursdays as long as Klumph is in treatment.
