Editor:
I am writing this letter about an article in the Aug. 15 paper on the airport (subdivision) expansion.
It seems to me that a few things need to be asked:
First, what does “town hall meeting” mean? According to the dictionary that I have, “1. meeting of all the voters of a town, especially in New England, to express their opinions and decide directly on matters of local jurisdiction. 2. Any general meeting of the inhabitants of a town.
Second, why private invitations to a town hall meeting?
Third, why can’t the developers say what they need to in front of the Planning Commission?
I am not opposed to the 109 lots, but I do not want the 146 lots. I for one do not like smaller lots.
And I don’t know about anyone else, but it sounds like the private easements that go across two or three lots is a nightmare waiting to happen. I can see a lot of court time taken up with these private easements.
I think that as a voter and a taxpayer of Sweet Home, I need to encourage everyone to start asking a lot of questions about what is going on in Sweet Home.
