R.L Pickle, 84, of Sweet Home died in his sleep early on March 2 after a brief illness.
He was a beloved local farmer who served as a staff sergeant in the Army Medical Corps during World War II.
Mr. Pickle is survived by his younger brother and five sisters, four children and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ursala; brother Bill; sisters Vera and Media; and youngest son Ron.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at The Assembly of God Church, 890 Mountain View Road, in Sweet Home, across from Sweet Home Junior High School.
