Ramona Jewell Lake, 81, of Sweet Home died March 20, 2014.
She was born May 22, 1932 in Pine Valley, Okla. to Lendle Carl and Ida May (Pugh) Story.
She lived in Sprague River from 1941 to 1948, then moved to Lakeview. She moved to Sweet Home in 2005.
She married Robbie G. Lake on Dec. 26, 1950.
Mrs. Lake was baptized March 24, 2002 at Christian Life Center Church of God by Reverend Wayne Breshears, publicly professing her faith in the small rural congregation. She loved to serve, worship, and be among her fellow believers there, faithfully trusting in the blessed gospel of life eternal.
Her greatest joy was her family and she especially loved to cook and bake for them at holidays and other gatherings. She enjoyed spring and summer the most, spending her time outside tending to her flowers and garden.
Mrs. Lake is survived by a daughter, Gwen and son-in-law Mike Lindsey; and son William “Ron” and daughter-in-law Lois Lake, all of Sweet Home; seven grandchildren; sisters Charlene Carnini of Weed, Calif., and Lenda Cossey of Independence; and brother Ted and sister-in-law Melinda Story of Deming, N.M.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Lake in 2013; and her brother, Bud Story in 1996.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, 1443 Long St.
