Randall Buttenhoff

June 2, 1959 – Aug. 9, 2008

Former Sweet Home resident Randall Allen Buttenhoff, 49, passed away on Aug. 9, 2008 at his home in Olympia, Wash. after a long illness.

He was born in Eugene on June 2, 1959, the son of Darryl and Loretta (Bascom) Buttenhoff. He was raised in Sweet Home and was a graduate of Sweet Home High School.

Mr. Buttenhoff served in the US Coast Guard; he spent a short time working in plywood mills for Willamette Industries, Inc. in Lebanon and Sweet Home. He then became an accomplished house painter, working in San Francisco and, for the last 19 years, in Olympia.

He is survived by Anna, his life partner of 19 years; sons Jayson Marroquin and Joel Marroquin of Olympia; his parents, Loretta Ward of Sweet Home, and Darryl and Shirley Buttenhoff of Bend; brother Mikeal Buttenhoff of Sweet Home; grandmother, Betty Bascom of Sweet Home; and Anna’s parents, Gene and Monica Beasley of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred Bascom and Dale and Hazel Adkins.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at 937 101st Avenue SE, Olympia, Wash.
