Rare lunar show

The eclipse was a rarity in that it occurred during a supermoon, which happens once a year and during which the moon appears 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon, according to NASA. This lunar combination took place for the first time in 30 years and will not occur again until 2033. A total solar eclipse will occur in August 2017.
