Raymond Douglas Friend, 72, of Sweet Home died Oct. 27, 2013.
He was born May 30, 1941 in Hemet, Calif. to John M. and Joyce (Parker) Friend.
He moved to Oregon in 1968 and then to Sweet Home in 1972. He worked as a logger his entire life.
Mr. Friend was a member of the Elks and enjoyed doing things with the VFW and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Craig, Alaska.
He enjoyed the outdoors and went fishing and hunting when he was younger. He loved restoring hot rods and coin collecting.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice Christenson; son John and his daughter-in-law Desalea; step-daughter Peggy Davis; brothers Mike Brauer and Kevin Brauer; sister Jackie Stienbarger; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jani Friend.
