Raymond L. Peterson, 82, of Sweet Home died May 7, 2013.
He was born May 23, 1930 in Finely, N.D. to Oscar and Caroline (Knutson) Peterson.
He grew up in McMinnville. Mr. Peterson served in the U.S. Army and was discharged from military service in California, where he married and raised his family. He returned to Oregon in 1985, when he retired, and built his home in Sweet Home.
He enjoyed his free time, which included restoring old cars, working in his yard and flower garden, and he loved to remodel and repair things.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of 51 years; children Douglas, Lloyd, Roxanne and Catherine; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Sweet Home.
