Regrutto, Shamek win inaugural Foster trail runs

Ryan Regrutto and Avery Shamek were the winners of the inaugural Up the Creek Trail Run, held Saturday, April 16, at Lewis Creek Park and the Foster Lake Trail.

Shamek ran 25.35 to win the shorter race, which was not a 5K, but was somewhat longer than 3 miles, following the trail from Lewis Creek Park to Gedney Creek boat ramp and then back to the park along North River Drive.

Regrutto ran 46.48 to win the longer race, somewhat over 6 miles, which continued on the trail past Gedney Creek to Foster Dam, then returned along North River Drive.

The 10K drew 22 runners, while 14 ran the 5K.
