This year’s Free Fishing Day children’s fishing derby has been moved from Foster Lake to Roaring River Fish Hatchery, near Scio, at 42279 Fish Hatchery Drive, off Highway 226 north of Lebanon.
Brett Boyd, manager of the South Santiam Hatchery, said the move was made for a variety of reasons – particularly overcrowding at Lewis Creek Park, where the derby was held for the last several years.
