Rep. Sherrie Sprenger will host a Sweet Home Business Summit from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the Sweet Home Community Center, 880 18th Ave.
The free event is being co-hosted by the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce and all local business owners and those interested in opening businesses are encouraged to attend.
This will be an opportunity for local business people to meet representatives of various state agencies, who will discuss what they do and how they can help small businesses in Sweet Home.
Presenters will include:
– Carrie Hulse, program manager, and Terry Hegel, lead business finance officer, for Business Oregon, the state’s economic development agency;
– Kelly Stevens-Malnar, state outreach coordinator for the state Department of Administrative Services, which oversees the day-to-day business activities of the state of Oregon;
– Amy Jermain, small business manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Small Business Programs; and
– Ruth Miles, small business advocate in the Oregon Secretary of State’s office. Miles’ role is to troubleshoot and help small businesses negotiate government red tape.
