Lebanon Fire District firefighters were dispatched to a large natural cover fire in the 41000 block of Baptist Church Drive in Lacomb at 11:46 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 20.

The battalion chief found the fire had been contained to approximately one-half acre and was extinguished by the property owner and neighbors. When additional firefighters arrived, they began mopping up the hot spots that were in the burned area, making sure the fire was completely out.

Crews were on scene for about one hour completing the task. The cause of the fire was most likely a spark striking a rock while equipment was swathing the field. No injuries were reported and no damage was done to the equipment.
