Retired Police Chief Gary and Shirley David celebrate 50th anniversary

Gary and Shirley (Jackson) David celebrated 50 years of marriage Saturday, Sept. 24, at their home in Irrigon.

Gary David spent 32 years in law enforcement, including serving as Sweet Home’s police chief from 1985 to 1994. He retired in 1998.

Shirley David retired in December 2010 after 15 years with the city of Walla Walla, Wash.

They are the parents of Monica David of Dallas and Rodney and daughter-in-law Becki David of Lebanon, They have two grandchildren, Alysha and Carson, and a great-grandson, Ryland.
