Reu Reeve

Reu A. Reeve, 39, of Sweet Home died April 5, 2009.

He was born Jan. 12, 1970 in Stockton, Calif. to Patrick R. and Gloria Jean (Gulick) Reeve.

He was raised in a military family stationed around the Bay Area, including Treasure Island. He attended Stagg High School in Stockton, Calif. and ITT in Sacramento. He relocated to Oregon in 1992 with Hewlett Packard, residing in Corvallis and later moving to Sweet Home with his family.

Mr. Reeve worked as an automation technician for Hewlett Packard for 17 years. He was a Sunday School teacher at the Pentecostal church of Jesus Christ in Stockton and loved playing trumpet for worship services.

His true devotion was his family. He gave of his time generously to any one in need and had a true love for life.

Mr. Reeve was an avid outdoorsman and had deep love of Oregon and all its majesty. He liked elk hunting, mountain biking, camping with the family, cooking and entertaining for friends and family. He was a master welder and loved metal working.

He loved tinkering with his off-road vehicles, his beloved Dodge Ram truck and Polaris. He really liked traveling, especially to the Hawaiian Islands and Yellowstone.

Mr. Reeve is survived by his wife of 12 years, Anne Marie Petri Reeve; two children, Flynn, 6, his apprentice-in-training, and Beatrice, 2; parents Patrick and Gloria Reeve of Sprague, Wash., father-in-law Lanny and Kay Petri of Roseburg; siblings Renee Young of Fairfield, Wash., Rhonda Speelman of Ripon, Calif., and Rita McGrath of Cheney, Wash.; and brother-in-law Norman Petri of Roseburg.

Funeral services were held April 10 at Sweet Home Mennonite Church.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Reeve’s name to the Oregon Humane Society.
