Rev. David Adams

Rev. David Adams

May 15, 1948 – Mar. 1, 2024

Rev. David W Adams of Sweet Home was born May 15th, 1948 in San Diego, CA to David and Marjorie Adams. He passed away on March 1, 2024 in Portland. He was a jack of all trades, from Army Vet to biker to logger to preacher. He had a working knowledge of auto mechanics, a strong love for family and community, and an even stronger love for Christ. Loved to go hiking, hunting and mushroom picking. There was seldom a week that went by that someone wasn’t stopping by and being given a hot meal and if needed a dry place to stay for a bit. If he had it, he gave it…even if it wasn’t something he had to spare.

Affectionately called Papa Dave or Shumba by so many over the last twenty to thirty years, He touched so many lives, brought together many in love, and was always sharing God’s unconditional love from coast to coast.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. David and Mrs. Majorie Adams, sisters Marjorie Gurr and Patrecia Adams-Zedan, son Robert Hankins Sr, and granddaughter Savannah. He is survived by his wife Cheryl Adams, brothers; Thomas Adams, Richard Duke-Adams, Samuel Adams and Charles Adams as well as his children; David Adams Jr, Casey and Brian Walsh, Christopher Jurgens, Cassandra Hankins, Devyn Linder- Adams, and 13 grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren.

A public service for him will be held on May 18, 2024 at 1 pm Hope Church 890 Mountain View Rd, Sweet Home
