Rex Edward Livezey, 77, of Sweet Home lost his battle with prostate cancer and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday April 14, 2016.
He was born on June 22, 1938 in Enumclaw, Wash., the son of John and Vera (Piper) Livezey. He came to Sweet Home with his family in February of 1946.
Rex met and later married Sharon (Renoud) Lang. He worked with Forest Service, then Willamette Industries for 42 years before retiring in 2000.
He was a sports enthusiast, playing in many sports when he was younger. He loved to watch sports on TV, as well as attend all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.
Rex enjoyed attending as many Sweet Home sporting events as he was able for many years. Rex also enjoyed reading, bowling and working around his home. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and church friends.
Rex is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Sharon; daughters Toni and husband Mark Maupin of The Dalles, Joan and husband Kreg Stueve of Philomath, and Adele Hanscam of Sweet Home; sons Todd Livezey and wife Cherri of Lebanon, Tim Livezey and wife Ginger of Tarpin Springs, Fla., Earl “Jay” Lang and wife Haley of Port Angeles, Wash; sister Lauradell and husband Rayden Johnson; brother Johnnie Livezey and wife Janice; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Casey Hanscam.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Sweet Home Christian Church. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
