Junior Rhys Birky churned out the sixth fastest time in school history Thursday in the 500 freestyle, clocking a 5:14.4.
The school record is 4:58.8 and is held by Bruce Davis.
“Rhys doesn’t swim the 500 much but I wanted to get a time on him,” Coach Doug Peargin said. “We had six kids out but we still swam well.”
