Richard Byrd

Richard Allen Byrd, 61, of Sweet Home, passed away July 23, 2025.
He was born April 4, 1964 to Dennis Byrd and Gwen Grissom in Riverside, Calif.
He was raised in Orting, Wash. In 1983 he joined the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1986. Before coming to Oregon he lived in Pismo Beach, Calif.
Working as a chef most of his life, Rick still found time for his family and hobbies. You could always find him playing guitar, drums, singing and even song writing, along with spoiling his wife with amazing cooking skills.
Rick is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Pam Thorp-Byrd; children Savannah and Danni, and son-in-law Jordan and four other children; and four grandchildren.
He lives on in our memories, never to be forgotten.
