Riley J. Beasley, 77, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at his home.
He was born in Iola, Kan., the son of Riley Sr. and Anna M. (Hand) Beasley. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1974.
Mr. Beasley was serving in Germany when he met Lieselotte “Barbara” Segner. They were married Feb. 2, 1957 in Germany. They then moved to the United States and have resided in Lebanon since 1974.
Mr. Beasley worked locally for the Lebanon School District until retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bingo.
He belonged to the American Legion Santiam Post #51 and Oregon State Sheriffs Association.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara of Lebanon; children, Barbara Biever and Ralph Beasley of Lebanon, and Richard Beasley of Bend; brother, Delbert “Gene” Beasley of Lebanon; sisters, Leta Pitts of Crawfordsville and Caroline Rodgers of Albany; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by brothers Robert Hand and Jerry Beasley, sister Venia Barstad, and great-grandson Christian Biever.
Funeral services were held on Feb. 17, with burial following at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon.
